“No!” I snapped.

“Well after all it is your life” he added looking down at his glass.

“What are you all doing here?” Mum asked appearing in the doorway. “Dinner is served!”

We all took our places at the table and Mum began to set out the plates in front of us. I was staving, I had been in meetings all day and hadn't had time to eat. Oh the joys of running a successful business.

“Tell us about yourself, Georgina” Mum smiled and took her seat at the table. “Our Maxwell doesn't normally allow us access to his private life.” I cringed, sometimes she was too embarrassing.

“Not much to say” she mumbled, I knew she didn't like being centre of attention.

“How did you meet?” Mum insisted.

Georgina chocked and her cheeks flushed bright red. Her eyes slowly turned to my direction. I gave a little laugh and placed a protective arm around her.

“Personal” I smirked, rubbing my finger across my lip. “It's not exactly something we want to dwell in.” I looked over at Georgina and gave her my  smile. “But it was good.” I felt her hand grab her most precious procession. I sat back and allowed her to carry on playing with what was rightfully hers.

The doorbell rang and everyone looked up in surprise. Jesus, these people had to get some sort of life.

“I'll go” Amber said cheerfully jumping up and running out of the room.

I began to eat while Georgina carried on playing her game. All the time I was pretending nothing was happening. Was she getting me back for the photo shoot?

“Oh my god!” Screamed Amber running back into the room. “Your never guess who is here?” Then within a second Debbie entered followed by Olivia.

Georgina stopped in mid-motion, she moved her hand away and her eyes looked up at me scared. The worry spread across her face.

“Debbie?” I snapped.

Mum got up, ran over to her and pulled her in for a hug. My mouth twisted with annoyance. What the fuck was she doing here? I watched as Debbie's crocodile tears began. How pathetic? That's what she was like always up for making a scene.

“I've left my husband” she dramatically sobbed. “And I have nowhere to go” she added bringing her hand up to her mouth.

I couldn't bare being in the room with her no longer. I stood up throwing my napkin on to my plate. “Come Georgina, we are leaving!” I bellowed. I was safe now my arousal had instantly gone at the sight of the white elephant in the room.

“Maxwell!” Mum yelled looking at me shocked. What did she expect me to do? Run over and start hugging the bitch! Just the thought of touching her made me feel sick.

“What?” I yelled back. She didn't reply. “Car when your ready, James.” James got up and we all made our exit.

“Maxwell!” My Mum cried running behind us. I stopped and turned to face her. “This is the Mother of your child. Why are you being like this?”

I just shrugged. Didn't she get it? “Frankly, I just don't give a fuck!” It was easy for me to turn into the cold business man I had grown to love. I gave my Mum a kiss on the cheek. “I'll call you” I added and then left.

CHAPTER 8

BANG ….. BANG ….. BANG!!!

What the fuck?

Who was trying to kick my door in? I placed my laptop down on the coffee table and decided to find out.

“Blake” Amy screamed as I opened the door. She looked a mess. Her dark hair was pulled back and she looked very hot. “You can't give up your job!” I opened the door wide and hand motioned for her to come in. “Please... Your regret it and I really need you!”

I closed the door behind her. Hadn't we just had this conversation about forty-five minutes ago. Had she ran here from Cowley Road? I spun round to look at her. My stomach flipped at the sight of her. Amy was a very beautiful woman, the second I had seen in the last few days. No matter what no one seemed to replace Georgina. I placed my hands over my face. Why was this all beginning to get to much to bare? What was wrong with me and why couldn't I move on? Georgina had, in fact the minute she left me at the church she had moved on.

“It's complicated” I cried walking over to the sofa and sitting down.

Amy stormed over and sat down next to me. “Why?”

“You know why!”

“Georgina?” She shook her head and spun round to face me. “For fuck sake, Blake! She doesn't even give a toss about you. Do you think at this moment she is crying over you? No, she is probably fucking that flashy bastard.”

I looked down at my hands. “You saw her face the other day” I mumbled. Every time I closed my eyes her hurt face glared at me.

“Is this about the job or us now?”

“Both” I replied.

She jumped up and pointed her finger at me. “Will you wake up! She cheated on you and went off with another man. She humiliated you and....” Her voice lowered and I watched her lip tremble. I never thought of Amy as the emotional type. “We have the chance of something special and you want to throw it away because your ex found you with someone else. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my whole life.”

“I'm just not ready yet” I said matching her tone.

Amy knelled down in front of me and her hand reached out for my face. I could see the tears building up in her eyes. “Please Blake, give us a chance” her voice was full of love and her eyes said the unspoken words. No one had looked at me like that for a while. She was right I did have to move on. I was lonely and  hated it. Here a beautiful woman was willing to give me a chance and I was just going to walk away. It was ridiculous and I would be foolish if I did. Amy cared about me and I deep down cared about her. I couldn't allow Georgina from stopping me live my life, after all she out living hers!

I placed my hand over Amy’s and fell into her touch. “Do you think it would work?”

She shrugged and her lip turned up. “There's no harm in trying. I really do care for you, Blake. Much more than I even thought I would.”

“Me too” I let out an agonizing sigh and took my hand away from hers. I brushed my hair back and sat back on the sofa.  “I'm really messed up, Amy. Do you think you can deal with it?”

Amy climbed on to my lap and her hands returned to my face. Her lips were itches away from mine. “I'll help you” her tone was seductive.

My hands moved round to her perfect arse and  I grabbed hard. “Do you want to help me?”

“More than you'll ever know” she placed her lips on mine and we fell into a deep meaning full kiss. Our tongues invading each others mouths. My hands moved up to her head to keep it in place. I never wanted her mouth to leave mine.

It felt right. This was going to be my second chance of happiness and I was going to grab it with both hands. After all the business with Georgina at least I had learnt something... Don't trust anyone!!!!

“There is an outdoor swimming pool” the estate agent began. I was no longer interested about looking about. I wanted to go back to bed, pull the blanket over my head and pretend last night had never happened. After all there probably wasn't much point in setting up home with Maxwell now. Seeing her before me at Maxwell's parents house had unleashed all my worst fears. Maxwell would choose his daughter over me hands down. I felt my stomach churn. I really couldn't face losing him. How would I carry on without him? I gave up everything for him and would it of been for nothing? I felt my eyes build up with tears. I began to try and blink them back. One tear rolled down my face.

“Hey” Maxwell said pulling me into him. I rested my head on his broad chest, he smelt amazing and my tears began to fall. Surely no could be that mean and take away the person I loved more than anything. His fingertips began to play with my hair.

“Would you give us a moment please” he asked the estate agent. I heard the door close and Maxwell lifted my face to gain eye contact with me.

“Tell me” he said softly.

“Its her” I cried.

His mouth tightened and he gave me the cold glare. It had been a while since that look had been directed at me. “I don't want Debbie” he huffed. “I want you... As my wife!” His eyes lit up and it took my breath away. He really meant it.

“You love me?” I asked.

He grabbed me tighter and tutted. “Just fucking agree, Miss Dawson. There is no rush in getting married.” He held up my left hand for me to see. “Let me place a ring on this finger and process you fully.”

I felt myself biting down on my lip. What more could I say? It wasn't everyday a wonderful handsome man wanted you to be theirs. At least this way it would show everyone how serious we were about one another and maybe get Debbie out of the picture.

“Yes” I smiled up at him.

His eyes widened and he stumbled back. “Say it again” he beamed.

“Yes, Mr Thomas. I'll be your wife.”

He ran over and lifted me up in the air spinning me around. Slowly he lowered me to my feet and grabbed hold of my face. His forehead resting against mine. The smile not once leaving his magical mouth.

“We need to go and get you a ring” he kissed my lips and the tingles started below. I loved the way he tasted and he was going to be mine forever. The butterflies started in my stomach and that low arching wanton feeling began down below. This man already controlled my body.

I pulled away. “What about the viewings?”

“Fuck them!” He walked over to the door and opened it. “Hey!” He yelled. “We will take this one.”

The estate agent immediately entered the room looking very pleased with himself. No doubt he was making a lot of commission out of this.

“Good” he grinned. “Lets talk money!”

I admired it again. Wow, it was beautiful.

“Do you like?” Maxwell asked pouring another glass of champagne for me.
