Chapter 28: Dirty Fan

Lenora and Denien pulled up at the hospital. They rushed into the revolving doors out of breath by running from the back of the parking lot. Lenora pulled out her inhaler, took a couple puffs and met Denien at the front desk.

Denien was vigorously inquiring about her husband. She could hear her getting frantic; there was no Lee McPherson in their system. Denien was trying to keep her cool, how that could be possible; when that mystery call has led her to Clarke County.  It was bad enough Clarke County was known as, “Death Row County.”

Lenora expeditiously maneuvered Denien out of the way and inquired about Lee. With much seeking and searching; they were able to locate Lee whom was registered in the system as John Doe. The nurse released the room number. The two wives both former and present took a left at the gift shop. Denien brought flowers, Lenora purchased a teddy bear. They grabbed hands, went toward the elevator and pressed the “up” button.

The door pulled opened as the overly crowded elevator made room for the two. To Denien, it seems like the longest ride to travel, while Lenora was excited that prayer has set the tone for Lee. In a matter of moments life would go back to its regularly scheduled program. Lenora called her children to let them know that their dad had been found.

The elevator stops on the ninth floor. The two most major women in Lee’s life exited, made a left at the end of the hall and entered room 13. They found being questioned by the Dr.  The nurse told requested for them to hold tight in the waiting room until the Dr. was done.

Lenora gave them more hell than his wife. Her disorderly conduct landed her a trip outside of the facility. She was cool after she cursed out everyone in the building including security. She was on her way back to the car. To calm down, she lit a cigarette, puffed and got it together until an arched enemy crossed her path like a black cat.

“I’m about to get some ass!” She flicked the butt on the ground and stepped on it, smashing it into shredded Tobacco and paper.

“Umm hmm, wait until this bitch cross this street.” She chuckled as the people in the car next to her rolled it up their car windows.

She heard the man speaking with a woman on the driver’s seat. “That bitch on one man.”

He passed the bud to the chick, “He’ll yeah, she on one.  Now we got some drama to watch until your momma bring her slow ass from up out of there.”

They laughed as they watched her slowly creep behind a blue Mercedes Benz. It tripped them out when, Lenora took her shoes off and put them in her purse. The woman tapped him on the shoulder with intensity in her eye’s because someone was unaware of what was about to happen.

The woman said as it was her turn in the rotation, “I hope that bitch can bang.”

The man hit the steering wheel, cracking the hell up and almost in a breathless state. He coughed to catch his breath, “Shit I hope these white folks don’t call the police so we can watch this shit.”

“Bae get your camera phone out, record this shit.” She responded.

“Bet, World Star Hip-Hop is going to love this shit!” He pulled his red I-Phone 6 off of the car charger, got out the car and approached the scene like he was the host of “Cheaters.”

                              ************

Lenora squatted behind the familiar car. The owner of it used to sit in front of her home when she and Lee were married. She grew angry as a bull as the footsteps got closer. Lenora thanked God in advance for forgiving her before the shit jumped off.

She heard light beeps, the car door unlocked. She didn’t give the driver any room to get into the car. Nicole’s eyes bucked, thinking that her eyes were playing tricks on her. She never thought the day would come, seeing Lenora up-close and personal. Nicole hid behind the telephone and internet. Lenora promised made a promise and today is the day, which promise is honored.

The truth of the matter Lenora was never one to fight over a man, especially if he wasn’t hers. But this bitch right here got to get it for old time sake as well as the principalities of the matter. Nicole was the main reason that Lee and Lenora.

The many, run-in’s happened several years ago, however, Lenora could still hear Nicole talking in ruthless obscurities about her children. She remembers all those trips DFCS made to the house behind Nicole’s false accusations. Lastly, she remembered the last straw, when Nicole broke into their home, confronting Lee about their secret love affair bringing their marriage to an end.

Lenora slammed Nicole in the door, “You going to do what when you see me? “She pushed the door until Nicole screamed.

“Whoop my ass then, that’s what I want you to do; I’m right mother fucking here!”

“I know you’re not, still tripping about Lee!” Nicole forcefully pushed Lenora away from the door. She hopped out and squared up.

“Let’s get it you black bald headed bitch. Come on!”

Lenora was bout that life. She went to reach for Nicole but spaced-out. Her eyes cringed in coincidence, finding it funny that Lee’s name spewed out of Nicole’s mouth.

Instead of whooping her ass like a slave, instruction came from God, to exposed the devil and read Nicole some spiritual rights.

Lenora put her dukes down and lifted her hands. The tears streamed from her face as she broke her all the way down. Lenora inhaled deeply, exhaled slowly and spoke.

“Nicole, I know who you are. The spirit of Jezebel has ownership over your life. You are of no good to this earth.  I see you; I see every dirty thing you have done. Would you like it if someone, did you like you’ve done others? How would you feel if your man was breaking up homes while married to you? What is wrong with you? How could you interfere with Lee’s life? It didn’t satisfy you enough, that you took him from me.

Then you had him all to yourself, but didn’t know how to keep him. He was all yours for the taking and you screwed him for the next woman in his life. The truth is you didn’t want him, but you didn’t want anybody else to have him. You selfish dick fed individual.

You’re the reason he and Denien couldn’t make it peacefully. You left a trail of pain in his heart, which his wife had to go back and clean up in order for him to see his worth as a man.  That girl has been through hell. But the difference is she knew his title in her life and fought tooth- and- nail for Lee. Now after all of his success you want your cut.

The bad part about it; you used his good heart to your advantage, making him believe in your man-made apologetic statements that were full of foolery and shenanigans to weasel back in. No! You will leave him alone once- and- for- all.

Nicole you need some help. I know that you’re the one responsible for this situation, don’t know how you managed to crawl and pinned your dirty paws in Lee again. I wish you well when you bust hell wide open.” She expressed with envy towards Nicole.

“With all due respect, when you got pussy as good as mine. Lee could’ve been married to Oprah Winfrey and I still could’ve brought him into my world. Now excuse me I got to get back home, to man #2.

I don’t appreciate you coming at me on some old rah-rah shit from back in the day. Let me tell you something about me. I love being the clean-up woman, get over it. Next time do your job so bitches like me won’t be able to infiltrate. How do you like the apples?” Nicole defended herself.

It was too late, Lenora went ham, and the weed heads recorded Nicole getting a good ole country ass whipping by a woman that didn’t give to fucks about the asinine justifications. When it was all said and done Lenora would have to explain to her children, the video that went viral and why.

Chapter 29: Rekindled Furry Home

Lee was with the Dr. He asked if he knew what happened. Lee went on to say that he remembers nothing about his accident but being angry and falling on his head.  He was appalled knowing, no one came for him after finding out it’s been two months.

The Dr. told Lee that all his test results came back A-1. He then informed him that the blow to his head would cause some long-term memory loss, and it’s less likely that he would regain total memory. Lee understood as the Dr. told the nurse to get his release forms together.

Lee sat there in awe as a woman entered his room. Lee looked at her and said, “You came back.”

I’m trying to be strong with news, hell it could’ve been worse. I look at my husband and ask, “Who am I?”

“The woman of my dreams,” Lee stated as he reached for me.

I walked over to my husband and grabbed his hand, “What’s my name.”

My heart crumbled into a million pieces, he couldn’t recall, I knew then. I lived in his dreams he can’t remember our life.

“Oh Lee,” I sob with regret for starting the argument and allowing him leave the house that night.

I touched my husband and kissed him hello and goodbye at the same time. When my lips met his checks an electric shock was release. I grabbed my lips; he held his chin and went into a trance. I feel Gods presence very strongly, so strong the door closed and locked. I was not afraid, my angel comforted me and said, “Pray”

I prayed without ceasing until Lee batted his eyes. He looked over at me and wept like a baby. I didn’t move; still feel my angels hand on my shoulder. I’m waiting for my husband to speak but the tears won’t let him.

He started to cry out to God, “I’m sorry for doing your child like this, please forgives me. I was going to tell her everything because I don’t want any secrets. Oh, God my wife! I just want my wife. I remember, I remember everything.”

The angle released my shoulder.  I went over to Lee and crawled in the bed with him. He was ready to speak to me. I didn’t want to hear it, I already knew the truth.

“Shush, just relax and get your strength. I’ll take good care of you. I’m just glad that you’re alright. I love you Lee. You’ll never understand how much.”

“Denien, God has shown me your heart concerning me. I promise if you let me, I’ll be a better man. I won’t hold my past against you any longer. I will try to trust you. Be patient with me. I don’t want you to leave my side. Please just...”

The nurse came into the room and Lee signed the release forms.  I called Lenora and told her to bring the car around. We left Clarke County and left Clarke County, in Clarke County.

No one said a word the entire way home. We were thankful to have our family back together. We arrived safely home and got Lee settled in to the room.

Before Lenora left, she told me about what popped of in the parking lot. I gave her some love and was very grateful for her defending us. She went home and we will celebrate this weekend the periodical son’s return home.

As for Nicole when she got home. There was no one there to greet her. Samuel was always suspicious of her fidelity. But the icing on the cake was when his daughter sent him a link from World Star Hip-Hop with his woman, confessing her secrets on the air to the world. She felt smaller that an ant when he took all of his belongings, leaving a note that read
,’ Thanks for nothing home-wrecker.’

Nicole looked at the note, held her head down and said, “Well, damn. It’s a first time for everything. She went on living, loving and wrecking.

Chapter 30: Journey back to Health

It’s been two years and I’m trying to salvage my marriage. My husband, it’s been difficult loving him. One minute he loves me and the next minute he can recall who I am. His memory has started to relapse. I don’t know if I can go on like this; being torn to shreds isn’t the best feeling in the world.

It’s amazing that I have all of this faith embedded on the inside of my heart. But right now I’m so angry at God. Even though Lee is functional, I feel like I’m married to a mute. Life as we shared prior to that bump on the head has changed from love to a thin line of hate.

We’re both living in a world of frustration beyond hope. The damn therapist gets on my nerves every Monday and Thursday. This joker keeps telling me, that I need to be patient; as if I’m not the glue holding this shit together. I know the situation if trying but what about my fucking feelings.

How am I supposed continue to respect and uphold Lee in his frustrations when they cut me like a knife. Verbal abuse is beginning to fester between the two of us. I pray that this storm will come to an end if not, I’ll do my husband a favor the next time her tell me to get the fuck up out of his life. I know marriage isn’t the easiest thing to comply too but this shit right here is giving me gray hair.

We haven’t had sex in two years because it’s not my husband that I’m making love too. There is a stranger in my house. And theses dildos and vibrators don’t suffice enough to satisfy my needs. A bitch needs some real penetration before I catch a case. The love that he used to look at me with has now become disdained and tolerable. I’m starting to wish that the bitch he was creeping with would have won and done me a fucking favor. Maybe my heart wouldn’t be hurting then again, maybe it would. I’m almost for certain that I would the same hurt but in a different way.

I’m sitting here looking at this extinct love affair remembering that momma said there would be days like this and boy do I wish that she was wrong. Well enough of my wishful thinking. Lee will be home soon so I’ll be the good little wife and at least have his dinner ready. I have to keep reinforcing the fact that it’s not his fault. Then again yes the fuck it is.

Who in the fuck told his punk ass to be entertaining the bitch? If I did the shit to him, it would be a war zone. I guess that’s a catch 22 between a man and woman. Bullshit! It’s the selfishness between a man and a fucking fool. Lord give me strength and serenity.

If I could turn back the hands of time. But then again I can’t. Now I’m sitting here smoking cigarettes behind this stress. My chest hurts not because of the Tabaco but the toxin from this love affair has my heart slowly dying. I want to attack his heart and be spiteful. Lord knows I’m not a petty chick, if I pretend to be maybe I’ll feel better.

I’m in my feelings that are so fucked up right now. I try to understand my husband, in many ways’ I do. He is angry too. I can hear him breaking down at times wishing to rather lose a limb than the memories of his mind. He tries so hard to make me feel good about the situation. And that’s when I have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe one day this storm will pass and things will get back on track. I want to move forward in peace. At least have a good night including a peaceful sleep. I wonder if all the men I fucked over in life sowing dark seeds with is finally paying me a visit to reap. I sure as hell hope not because I’ve paid my debt to society and have suffered more than anyone could think or ever understand.
