“You better stop with that shit,” I warned her. I could deal with the crying and scre
aming because I deserved it but I wasn’t about to let no female put their hands on me when I’d never laid a hand on them.

“You better stop playing with me then,” she sneered. “I’m tired of you coming up in here late hours at night or not coming home at all
. Then you give me some lame ass excuse as to why you spent the night out.”

“What do you want me to do? Stop working because
you’re insecure?” I was hitting below the belt with that jab but I really didn’t care. I was tired of arguing and just wanted her to leave me the fuck alone.

“Fuck you Delco! K
eep doing what you’re doing because anything in the dark always comes to light!” With that said she frowned up her face at me and stormed from the room. I guess I was getting a reprieve for now.

I took a seat on the couch and laid back
with my eyes closed trying to fight off the head ache I could feel coming. My phone vibrated in my pocket signaling I had received a text message. I fished it from my jeans and saw that it was a text from Daisy.

Have fun playing house with your bitch. I’m about to pack your shit in a box for you to come get.

I knew she wouldn’t touch my things and was just acting up because she was pissed at me, but I was pissed at her too. I couldn’t believe that she was talking about getting rid of my baby. I knew she only said it in anger and that she didn’t mean it. Daisy wasn’t the type of chick to kill a nigga’s seed, but the fact that she would even try to come at me like that made me mad as hell. I returned her text.

Chill the fuck out and stop stressing yourself
, because if anything happens to my baby I’m gonna beat that ass.

It took less than a minute for her to hit me back.

Fuck you. You can’t tell me what to do. Are you coming by later?

I think her pregnancy hormones
were making her a little nutty. One minute she was telling me to fuck off and the next she wanted to know if I was coming to see her. To think I got her ass pregnant on purpose. My nigga Tyga had told me how he had hid his wife’s birth control pills and got her pregnant, so I took a page from his book and did the same thing to Daisy.

I knew she was getting tired of having to share me with someone else
, so I made sure I came all up in that pussy and placed it on lock.

I was texting Daisy back to let her know I would
be stopping by in the evening when a call came in from Tyga.

“What’s up my nigga?” I asked him.

“That motherfucker jacked another one of our people.”

Oh shit,
there I was focusing on those bitches when things were getting a lot more real in the streets.

CHAPTER SIX

TYGA

They say the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but as I looked at the nigga sitting across the table from me, I wasn’t feeling like he was a friend of mine. I really wanted to put a bullet in his head and watch his brain splatter all over the damn place for all the problems he had caused me. I had to stay my hand though, because at the moment we had a bigger problem than each other and that problem’s name was Dread.

That slick Jamaican mother fucker had waited until the war between Kitsune and I had depleted a lot of our resources
and then he started moving in on our territories. I knew he had hit Kit hard by jacking some of his spots, burning some of his traps and taking over some of his blocks. That nigga was moving like he was getting inside info from someone on Kit’s team.

Dread was Kitsune’s uncle and he had been in charge of their organization before he went away and Kit had to take over the business. I was guessing someone from kit’s camp was still loyal to him.

Unlike Kit,
I was a lot harder to get to because he wasn’t privy to the secrets of my operation but that fool had being going around robbing a lot of my customers. Some of those niggas had even taken product from me on consignment. If you took food from the mouth of anyone associated to my organization, you were ultimately taking food from my mouth. What were those dudes going to use to cop those bricks if that motherfucker was going around fucking up their game? So now their problem was my problem because their money was supposed to become my money.

Dread
had been serving time upstate for the last five years for drug and human trafficking. Initially the FEDs were trying to put him away for life, but after a lot of the witnesses miraculously vanished the D.A had no choice but to offer him a deal.

He had only been released from prison for about six months and I guess he was trying to take back what he thought was rightfully his.

Over the last couple of years my weed empire had taken off like a rocket and I had even taken over a bunch of Kitsune customers. That meant they had been Dread’s customers before he went away, so I understood why he was not only gunning for Kit, but for me also.

Everyone knew Dread’s reputation in the streets. The nigga was like a boogeyman parents told their children about when they were misbehaving. The motherfucker walked around with a machete that he used to hack people apart when they crossed him. He had not only dealt in all types of illegal drugs and prostitution
, but he also hand a hand in human slavery. I heard he had lured a lot of poor unsuspecting Jamaican women from the island with the dream of a better life. Instead he sold them into slavery in Mexico and from there they would be bound for destinations unknown. To say that motherfucker was cold hearted would be putting it mildly.

We had all been seated in the private dining room at a five star restaurant in lower Manhattan for almost a
minute, however no one had yet to speak. We were just posing on our sides of the table while staring each other down with thinly veiled animosity. We didn’t trust each other enough to meet in the other’s territory, so we were on mutual ground. Kit had brought two of his lieutenants with him and I had brought Delco and E.J.

My cousin was mean-mugging Kit’s right hand man Sour because he had been shot by him in the early stages of our war and almost died from his wounds. E.J
. wasn’t a forgiving type of nigga and I knew it was really irking him that he hadn’t had the opportunity to deliver his payback. He had insisted on tagging along for the meeting because he didn’t trust Kit’s crew. He wanted to be there if anything popped off. The nigga was one very trigger happy mother fucker, so I knew it wouldn’t be long before he lost it and his Glock came out to do our talking.

As the staring contest between both sides got more intense
, I decided to end the silence. It wasn’t like we were in our neighborhoods where we could go hard and all our witnesses knew they should keep their mouths shut. We were surrounded by a bunch of white people who would have no qualms in identifying us to Five-O. I was a thug, but I wasn’t stupid, so it was in my best interest to prevent that situation from happening. It was more important than saving face.

“You called this meeting Kit,
so what the fuck you got to say?” I asked in a bored tone. I relaxed in my chair letting that mongrel know that I wasn’t threatened by him.

“I’ve been hearing you’ve got a problem with Dread,” he replied just as cavalier as me.

“Yeah, well that’s not what the streets are saying. It’s saying you got a problem with him,” I clarified. “He’s been causing problems for certain people associated with my organization. He’s a small time nigga. He can’t touch me, so he’s fucking with my people. I got a bullet with his name on it, but can’t find him so that I can introduce him to it.”

He cleared his throat taking my implied insult in stride. “I know my uncle
. He only started at the bottom of your operation because he doesn’t have information on you like he has on me. In time I’m sure he’ll get some and then he’ll be coming at you with guns loaded and blazing.”

“And when he comes we’ll be right there prepared and waiting,” E.J interjected. “We don’t need to team up with you fools to get shit done. He comes at us and we turn shit up.”

“Who the fuck said anything about teaming up,” Sour snapped back sounding insulted. “And what the hell do you even know about turning shit up?”

My cousin was out of his seat
with his hand reaching for his gun before the insult had completely left Sour’s mouth.

I grabbed his arm keeping him
from drawing his piece. “Nigga chill we’re in a public place.”

He shrugged off my hold
, but returned to his seat. He was glaring at Sour who wore a satisfied smirk on his mug. I knew my cousin and he wasn’t going to let an insult like that one go. Sour had no idea about the monster he had inadvertently unleashed on himself.

“What exactly are you trying to suggest Kit?” I asked in an annoyed tone.  “Because I got shit to do and that gorilla you got beside y
ou seems to be off his leash. I know my cousin will put his ass down if he keeps looking at him all reckless like that so let’s get this shit over with.” The nigga really did look like a fucking primate. He was big, hairy and fucking ugly.

“Nigga, who the fuck are you calling a gorilla?
You’re a bitc…” Kit’s lieutenant started, but was stopped mid-rant by the dangerously reproving glare Kit sent his way. It was one filled with so much reprisal that Sour’s mouth snapped shut like he was a marionette.

“Anyway, I was trying to suggest that we call a truce.
We keep racking up casualties on both sides. Both our resources are depleting and with a new war on both our horizons we’re going to need all our people.” I could tell that it took a lot out of Kit to utter those words. After I had kidnapped his mother because I thought he had kidnapped my wife, he swore the war between us would never end until I was six feet under.

I was cool with a truce because in my opinion the war between u
s had gone on way too long. It was costing the lives of many of my solders as well as taking money from my pockets.

“I agree with you that it’s time we move on,” I approved. “As long as your people leave my people alone we’ll do the same.”

“Once I send out the word that we’re not beefing anymore I’m sure my people will know their place and fall in line,” he replied, giving Sour a meaningful look. The nigga was looking grouchy as hell because he got reprimanded in public.

“We’re good then.”

With that said I rose and E.J and Delco did the same. It wasn’t like Kit and I were about to shake hands, or become buddies because we called off our war, so I was more than ready to bounce.

As we left the room I called Dwayne and told him to pull the car around. A minute later he pulled up to the front of the restaurant.

“Do you believe he really wants peace?” Delco asked as soon as we were all seated and on our way to my new night club. It was the first words he had spoken since we had walked into that meeting with the Jamaicans.

Although he had been quiet during the meeting
, I knew he was only watching and waiting for one of them to make the wrong move. Then his gun would have come out to play.

“I’m not sure yet
, but he seems to be legit. It would only make sense that we stopped focusing on each other and place our energies on the bigger threat,” I answered. “What do you think?”

“I think he really wants this truce because his uncle has been hitting him real hard and he can’t handle a war on two fronts.”

“Well, I say we keep the peace with them for now but as soon as we get rid of Dread we take care of them too,” E.J commented. I knew he wasn’t going to let Sour get away with shooting, or insulting him.

I nodded in agreement. “But no one makes a move against them without my say so.” I knew my cousin wouldn’t like that
, but he was too loyal to go against a direct order, so he nodded along with Delco and Dwayne.

When we arrived at the club, E.J got his ride and left because he had to go pick up his daughter from pre-school. I sent Dwayne to go pick up some money from one of our customers
, so it was only Delco and I who went inside the building. Before I converted it into a nightclub it was just a warehouse, but after almost a year of work it was now transformed into my latest vision.

Adore was a very large club consisting of three levels. The first floor was Rap and R&B, the second was Reggae and the third floor was the VIP. Each level had a small stage for live performances. For the clubs opening night I had booked Tyga to perform on the first floor because he
was Angel’s favorite rapper while Konshens was going to do his thing on the second floor because he was currently the hottest reggae artist.

Delco and I made our way through the chao
tic club toward my office. There were a lot of people running around making moves in preparation for the club’s opening that weekend. We still had workers taking care of small details to the décor although the furniture was already set up. We had a lot of product being delivered, so trollies were being pushed through the room with boxes of liquor and other essentials.

“Got some p
apers for you to sign boss,” Lena informed me as soon as I took a seat behind my desk. I hired her a month ago as manager. She was about five feet three inches tall, honey complexioned, pretty face with a short pixie haircut and a neat, tight body.
