“Aye, sorry ladies,” the man stammered, tripping over his own feet as he ran away, dodging round the rest of the members, who were all glaring menacingly.

Nate looked down at Deanna with a raised eyebrow, the edges of his mouth twitching.

“You having a good night?” he asked her.

“We were until those prats turned up. Thanks honey, I can always count on you,” she said jokingly but she saw his smile drop, understanding that he was thinking about the times he hadn’t been able to protect her.

“Nate, I was just joking . . ,” she tried to reassure him but he lifted her up and then sat down in her seat, pulling her down to sit on his lap.

He wrapped his hands into her hair and pulled her head back, kissing her deeply and sucking greedily on her lips as she moaned into his mouth.

“See what I mean. Lucky bitch,” Megan complained, Fiona and Heather readily agreeing as Deanna smiled and tangled her tongue with his, feeling his erection throb under her.

Logan and Fraser joined Heather and Megan, the other members dragging chairs over and ordering more rounds of drinks.

“I want one,” Fiona pouted, watching the close connection between Deanna and her husband, and her thoughts were filled with Nate’s gorgeous older brother Ethan.

“Come on babe, let’s go. I need to be inside you,” Nate whispered, breaking the kiss.

“Okay, lead the way,” Deanna replied breathlessly as Nate pulled her to her feet and they waved goodbye to the others.

Before they left Deanna caught sight of Ethan walking over and sitting next to Fiona, a broad smile lighting up her face as she turned to talk to him. Deanna grinned, happy for her new friend and fantastic brother-in-law.

They walked out of the club and made their way over to Nate’s monstrous bike parked outside at the front of a large line of other gleaming bikes and she climbed on, wrapped her arms tightly around him and they roared away.

CHAPTER 10

Deanna sat typing in the office as she wiped the sweat from her forehead. Even though a fan was humming loudly on full blast, she was sweltering with the afternoon sun shining inside.

She was so engrossed in her work that she jumped when a voice unexpectedly spoke.

“Deanna, I’m back.”

She looked up to find Shaun stood in the doorway. He was in nearly every week now and Deanna was becoming nervous of his reasons for constantly visiting. He often walked around observing everything that was going on and spoke to several of the members. Megan always teased Deanna that Shaun came to the garage just to see her.

“Hi Shaun. What can I help you with?” she asked.

“More bike repairs,” he smiled, but she could tell it was forced.

“I think we need to set up a special bay just for you,” she joked. He didn’t answer and just stared back at her and she was unsure of what else to say.

“Er . . okay. Found it, here’s the invoice,” she said handing it over as she processed the card payment.

“Here’s your receipt. Thanks Sh . . ,” she trailed off when furious yelling and shouting erupted outside.

Jumping to her feet she ran to the open door as a group of members were running out of the compound, a cloud of smoke just outside the gates.

“Crap, what’s happened?” she said quietly.

“Some people need to be more careful. No one knows when something bad is going to happen,” Shaun replied, standing close to her back.

She looked over her shoulder and saw that his face had lost its normal gentle look and she actually felt a little frightened being around him.

“Erm . . . I better,” she stammered and gestured as she quickly moved away from him and made her way outside.

As she ran out of the gates, Logan was picking himself up and struggling to his feet, his jeans ripped and knees bleeding.

Nate jogged over to a motorbike lying on the road as he leaned over and grabbed hold of the handlebars and forcibly lifted the bike up, the muscles in his large arms strained as he supported the heavy weight. Parts of it were scattered across the ground and the paintwork was scratched and dented. Deanna recognised the bike as one that Logan had been recently working on.

“What the fuck happened Logan?” Nate asked, rolling the bike back towards the garage, Logan walking slowly beside him. A couple of the other men picked up parts of the broken bike and followed them back inside.

“I don’t know. I was just testing it when it wouldn’t fuckin’ stop. I put my feet on the ground to slow it down and came off the bastard. Jesus, my leg hurts,” Logan winced as he hobbled back into the garage.

“Logan, I’ve got a first aid kit in the office. I can sort you out,” Deanna shouted.

“Thanks babe. Go with her. I’ll strip the bike down and find out what went wrong,” Nate replied, rolling the bike to a stop in a bay, kicking down the stand as he inspected the damage.

“Cheers mate,” Logan replied as he followed Deanna.

“Sit,” Deanna instructed, getting the large first aid kit out of a cupboard in the office as Logan sat in her chair at the desk.

After her attack Nate had insisted that every member of the club take part in an extensive first aid course. Working around tools and motors all day often resulted in cuts and scrapes and Nate had wanted them all to be able to deal with emergencies. He’d also insisted that they learn CPR and how to handle any serious injuries. Deanna knew Nate had requested this as he was haunted by memories of the time she’d been bleeding from slashes and a stab wound caused by Lee and he’d had no idea how to help her before the Paramedics arrived.

“Shit, that stings,” Logan complained as Deanna knelt on the floor and cleaned the cuts on his knees, which thankfully weren’t too deep.

“Are you alright?” she asked concerned.

“I don’t know what the fuck happened. The bloody thing just wouldn’t stop. Shit me right up it did.”

“Well thankfully it doesn’t look too bad. I’ll just stick some plasters on and you should be fine. Heather can check it later for you.” Even though Heather, his fiancé, was actually a local vet her skills often came in useful.

“Thanks Deanna,” he said, kissing her on the cheek as he limped out.

Deanna watched as he made his way over to Nate, who was bent over the damaged bike looking at the wiring.  She stood watching the pair and out of the corner of her eye she noticed Alastair talking with Shaun, both of them had gleeful expressions on their faces. When they noticed they were being watched they turned away from her and Deanna frowned at their behaviour.

“I swear to you Nate. I didn’t touch the break pipe. How the bastard got cut I don’t know,” Logan stated.

“You could have caught it accidentally before you put it back together,” Nate suggested.

“Aye, maybe,” Logan replied, but he didn’t sound convinced.

Deanna walked inside the garage as she listened to Nate and Logan quietly discussing what happened earlier to the motorbike. They stopped talking when she appeared.

“You alright? Is it time to go home?” Nate asked her.

“The break pipe was cut?” she asked.

“It’s nothing to worry about. It was probably just an accident. Thankfully Logan wasn’t too badly hurt and the bike can be easily repaired. I’m sure he’ll enjoy Heather fussing over him later,” Nate said quickly, changing the subject and winked at Logan who smiled as he wandered off.

Nate wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

“You excited about tomorrow?” he asked, trying to take her mind of the accident, but it was obvious he was worried.

“Yep. I finally get the tattoo finished for your birthday at the weekend. But next year will be the big one, I can’t believe my old man will be forty. Do you want to do anything special? I’ll have plenty of time to prepare for something amazing.”

“Nah, as long as I have you and Holly that’s all I ever want.” Deanna smiled at his comment as she reached up and kissed him in gratitude.

CHAPTER 11

Deanna quickly made her way inside the noisy clubhouse, Nate’s birthday party already in full swing. She was late as Holly had caught chicken pox from her playgroup and she wouldn’t settle. Holly had cried uncontrollably as she’d scratched her itchy spots, but Deanna was finally able to get her to sleep as Alice stayed with her.

She came to a shocked stop as her eyes widened at what she saw. The clubhouse looked very different and Deanna stared opened mouthed at the writhing half naked women wrapped around the new poles set on platforms in the centre of the room.

Megan saw her straight away and rushed over to her side.

“I can’t believe this. They hired pole dancers for his birthday. You should have seen his face when he walked in. He wasn’t happy. I’d go over to him as one of the dancers won’t leave him alone. The bitch has been trying to rub herself all over him,” Megan said annoyed.

Deanna scowled as she caught sight of Nate sat with Logan, Fraser and Bruce at the bar, an angry expression on his face as he shook off the hand of a beautiful tall skinny blonde by his side. Nate turned to face the woman so he could tell her to piss off when he saw Deanna stood nearby watching them.

“Fuck. Deanna, it’s no’ what it looks like. The stupid bastards hired these women, I didn’t have a clue,” he said agitatedly as he jumped off his chair and she walked over to him.

Deanna couldn’t help but smile at his nervous manner, obviously uneasy about her reaction.

“Nice tattoo Deanna. Thanks for showing it to Nate before you got here. I don’t think any of us could take that again,” Bruce called out and the men all laughed and agreed.

Nate had already seen her finished tattoo and loved it. She was wearing a cropped Basque top to proudly show it off.

The blonde pole dancer stood with her hands on her hips, annoyed that the hunky President didn’t show her the least bit of attention as he looked at the fat red-headed bitch with affection.

“This is your wife?” she sneered looking Deanna up and down. She had to admit that she was impressed with the tattoo she had on her curvy body, it was actually really pretty.

“Please point those things away from me. You’ll take someone’s eye out,” Deanna said gesturing to the woman’s obviously fake breasts forced into the smallest bra Deanna had ever seen.

Nate and the group laughed as the woman flicked her blonde hair and stomped off.

“Thanks, I’ve been trying to get rid of her for ages,” Nate said, wrapping his arms around Deanna and kissing her neck.

“You’re welcome honey. Are you enjoying your party?” she asked just as another woman in a skimpy top walked over to them. The woman was stunning with short strawberry blonde hair and looked like a pixie.

“I’m so sorry about Stardust, she doesn’t know when to give up. I’m Desiree,” the woman introduced, looking at Deanna with interest.

“Deanna.”

“Pleasure to meet you. I love your tattoo,” Desiree replied, running a finger along Deanna’s stomach.

“Thanks. It’s a present for my husband,” Deanna said.

“You’re a lucky man,” Desiree said to Nate. She turned back and smiled seductively at Deanna before she walked away with her hips swaying.

“She was bloody flirting with you,” Nate said shocked.

“I know,” Deanna replied smiling.

“Good to know you ain’t interested in women. You’ve only been with men.”

“How do you know?” Deanna asked with a raised eyebrow as Megan giggled, knowing a secret from Deanna’s past.

“What?” Nate asked confused.

“How do you know I haven’t been with a woman?” she asked as she noticed the rest of the men gathered around were listening intently.

“Have you?”

“I have.”

“Fuckin’ when?”

“When I was in my teens I did a bit of experimenting. But I do prefer men,” she said, wrapping her arms around his neck as she gently kissed him.

“Glad to hear it. I’ll have to watch that Desiree from now on,” he grumbled, making the others laugh.

As the party descended into a raucous evening Deanna watched the pole dancers at work and was amazed at their flexibility and techniques.

She was later approached by Desiree asking if she wanted her to teach Megan and her some moves. They’d both jumped at the chance, fueled by too much alcohol, as the members clapped and hollered loudly as they climbed up on stage.

Nate stood tense, his eyes glowing and arms crossed over his wide chest, as he watched Deanna lift and swing around the pole, her leather pants emphasising her fantastic ass and he felt himself hardening.

As she wrapped her legs around the pole and stretched back her breasts practically fell out of her top. Nate was about to move towards her when he felt fingernails dig into his arm and he groaned internally when he saw the annoying blonde from earlier.

“I can do a private show for you if you want, handsome. I’ll make you forget all about your wife,” she purred, trailing a taloned fingernail up his arm and he glowered down at her.

“I’m no’ fuckin’ interested,” he said harshly, seriously pissed off at her persistence. There wasn’t a woman on earth who could compare to Deanna.
