Chapter 17

Bizak took me straight to my bedroom where I was over Valeska's care that had changed my clothes and took me to bed to rest. I had slept less than expected, when I opened my eyes I could see Valeska was sitting on the bed next to me and looking at my face. At a Glance I had seen the vision of my mother; it was as if she was right here with me.

Then I lifted my head to look for her. "Mather!"

“It
is me... Valeska."

Her
voice was soft, and then she put her hand on my head and gently stroked my hair.

""How are you?" she asked me, and staring at my face.

"I... am fine..." I said after some time.

"Bizak took you out from the lake." she explained.

"Was He there?" I asked, frowning and sat on the bed.

She
stared at my face again and asked me:

"
What did you intend to do? To die?”

I did not respond, I only lowered my eyes and realized that everything had gone wrong for me.

"You cannot die
...” she held my hands and said: "You are immortal!"

I looked around me at the walls and said:"There's got to be a way..."

"Why do you want to die?"

"My life does not make sense..." I
answered, looking at my dress.

“Are you
in this way because of him?" I asked, facing my gray eyes with sadness. “Did you talk to him?"She insisted.

"Yeah,
this was worse than I thought this was." my eyes wanted the ground again.

"
What did you tell to him?"

"I told him everything I feel for him."

"What did he tell to you?"

"
He told me I must forget him."

"
Then you must do this!"

She rose slowly from the bed and walked through the room.

"He doesn’t deserve your love, he doesn’t deserve the love of anyone." she declared.

"
Why are you saying this? You encouraged me to go in to talk with him."

I was confused about Valeska's sudden change of opinion in relation to Eros.

One day before
, she seemed to want to unite Eros and me.

“I
thought this could be different with you."

"
Different? What?" I asked looking at her.

"I thought he could feel attracted to you,
even after you have become a vampire." she explained, looking at the wall.

"Why did you not tell me this before?" I
looked at her with indignation.

“I
did not wish to discourage you..."

She
sat on the bed next to me and held strongly my hands and said:

“You’re
so in love with him, then I have never had the courage to tell to you everything that I knew."

"Why can only humans attract him?" I asked looking into her face.

"Didn’t you ask this to him?"

"I've not had a chance to actually try it out, he flew away from me." I answered as I had this image inside my
head.

“Well
, I don't know either." she left my hands. "He never talked with me about this."

"
Why didn’t I declare to him my love when I still was human, perhaps everything could have been so different now?"

"Or not."
She contested. "You don't know for certain if he felt attracted to you when you still were human."

"You are perfectly right. If I still was
human even so I would not have a guarantee of his love."

Chapter 18

We
shared dinner without the presence of Eros. This was the first time that his chair was empty, after my arrival in the castle.  In my deep inner   I already knew what had been the real reason why He did not appear to dinner.  At least He did not want to face me. Maybe I was being a burden to his life. Those thoughts made me feel even worse; I had not only lost his love as well as his friendship, his zeal for me when we were on Earth. All his approximations had always been very important to my life.

And
perhaps I would no longer have them.

Chapter 19

Vincent requested
my presence in the main room of the castle. When I arrived at the scene, my eyes widened as if I could scarcely believe what I was seeing. The wild animals were in the company of my father.

Vincent was sitting on his chair and on his lap had a white tiger, below a large snake wrapped around his feet and an owl was on his shoulder.

I knew the snake was Bizak, the owl was unmistakable Eros, the white tiger which was white only in name, because all wild animals were dark in that castle, and they were as black as the night.

Each one of them became into their human forms as soon as I came closer to my father.

Valeska was the white tiger, exactly as I had imagined.

The three
servants of my father remained standing next to him.

I then asked "For what reason have you sent for me?"

He smiled at me. "Did you enjoy my wild animal’s collection?"

“Is
this why you called for me?"

"
Didn’t you like what you saw?"

He asked and shook his hands.

"Can you go straight to the point?"

"as you wish." he looked at my face." I want to see with my own eyes what you can transform into a wild animal."

"How will I do this?" I asked, looking at each of them.

"Think of an animal which you would like to be."

"Okay...What do I do now?"

"
Did you think?"

"Yeah
, I did."

Vincent got up and walked towards me.
He held my hands with gentleness and looked into my eyes and said:

"Close your eyes and
control the strength of your mind in order for your desire can be fulfilled."

  I had done
everything my master and father had ordained me.

I
closed my eyes and thought of what I would like to be.

Seconds after my female body gave way to a dark image, an animal with black silky hairs on body and yellow eyes.

I had transformed into a Black Panther.

"
Magnificent!"

My
father and master exclaimed as he was satisfied with my choice. I was an extraordinary animal.

Everybody
in the place observed my performance.

I ran around rapidly, with my claws extended from my large paws and held steadily the ceiling.

I immediately stopped what I was doing after the fatigue.

Then I came back to the ground
, exactly In the middle of the large hall and became back into my human format.

To
do that required a lot of energy.  And I had low energy.

Chapter
20

I walked through the corridors of the
castle; the silence was constant presence in that place. I interrupted my own steps and placed my hand on the wall, trying to support me, my body was weaker and weaker, and I had to have blood. I need to consume blood of the pre- vampires.  My blood-thirst for blood was so large that I was having a few mirages of blood everywhere. I decided to pass through the door which separated the castle from the city of pre-vampires.  I had disobeyed the orders of my father, he had ordained me I should always go there accompanied by someone that is, and I should never try to enter there alone.

Walked
through the empty streets of the place and saw no creature to go through there. I continued my journey, with an eye on everything that was happening around me, I looked from side to side; I was very concerned about that place.

Further,
I saw a nightclub.  There are several of them inside; I didn't think I was running the risk of entering there. I thought only of blood. I remained standing at the front door and placed the hood on my head and hid my face from them. My eyes changed the color and my teeth became large and curved as I felt the smell of fresh blood from a distance.  I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to enjoy its pleasant aroma.

So I finally plucked up the courage and entered the site through the main door.

It was a dark and narrow place; it was packed with half vampires. They would gather there to dance and drink. They had the same human needs. I infiltrated the crowd slowly, looking straight, so they would not notice my face. On top, it had a female -half vampire doing acrobatics on a swing tied to the ceiling. It wore little clothing; it was part of the show to let its coveted body sample.

Several creatures gave attention to its show. I continued walking and stopped in an aisle where there were only two creatures talking. I found that there was a suitable place for me to satisfy my appetite for blood. I remained standing in the corner waiting for the right moment to strike. Waiting for my prey was alone. I had no practice in holding the animals, when I did it the first time; I was in the company of my father.

Everything was perfect.

I looked at the entrance to the aisle and saw other creature approaching; it didn't seem to be one of them, that is, a half vampire. Its face was covered, like me, a black hood on its head.

I set my face and stared at the floor; it was a way I found to go unnoticed by the stranger approaching. It did not help me, because the figure stopped in my direction, very close, I could see by its dark shoes. I had no action to raise my head and see what it was.

I thought I had been discovered. Just I did not yet know by whom.

It was when a withdrawn voice revealed to me the owner of it.

“Valkyrie!”

I lifted my face and stared at its face, its gaze more precisely.

That was only look that had the power to intimidate me, so I did not react to anything, unless my thoughts earning forms every moment with his face.

“What are you doing here?” he asked surprised. “Are you alone?”

“I need blood ...” I said.

My throat almost closed.

“You cannot stay here!”

He turned his back to me.

“Let's get out here!” he said looking straight.

Even before us giving the start, we were surprised by a handful of half vampire, coming toward us. Now we were their target. Eros drew back and I did the same. And the creatures were getting closer. Eros used force from his mind; he launched upon them a strong wind that made them go back.

This delayed their approach, but it did not stop them try again.

Eros took me by the waist and went up with me, we were on top, and we flew over the half vampires, since we were not in the aisle, but in the hall, where everyone was.

We went down among them, everything seemed normal. When we realized they turned against us.

They came upon us, and this time it was not half dozen, but hundreds.

“Why are they this way?” I asked holding the black cape of Eros.

“I don't know.” he answered with his eyes upon the crowd.

They wanted me; it was unclear when five of them held my arm, pulling me with them.

“We just want her!”

One of them said with a distorted voice. The half vampires did not possess their voices equal to ours or of humans. They spoke growling, as if they were dying.

A choir was saying the same phrase at the same time:

WE NEED HER.”

I felt they pull my clothes in despair, a group of them tried to bite my arm. Everyone was at once.

Everyone in that room was trying to do the same.

They wanted my flesh, my blood...

Eros pressed me against him, he only believed in protecting me, since they did not want to do anything with him.

“Do something! We need to get out of here!” Eros ordered impatiently.

“I cannot!” I screamed without trying.

“You can do it!” he insisted.

I closed my eyes and let my mind for me to act. A flash filled the room, like a burst of fireworks. A navy blue light had left everyone stunned, they staggered from one side to the other, almost blind.

I did not know how I did it, it was all very fast, when I realized, Eros and I were already out there, outside the city of half vampire. We were safe; on top of a huge rock in the woods the vicinity of the castle of my father. Both standing, relieved to have escaped the time of those cannibals.

“I do not understand why they wanted to devour me”, I said observing Eros looking at the horizon; It seemed he avoided looking at me.

“They want your blood”, he said, in the same position.

“They were told you're the daughter of Vincent! Just I do not understand how?” he continued.

“And what it means to them?” I asked.

“Eternity!” he looked at my face. “They want to drink your blood to be like us.”

“And because they're not eternal?” I asked.

“They are only creatures that will last a hundred years, nothing more. They have no powers like us and they were not eternity”, he explained.

I approached him, I wanted to look at his face as he told, although part of the hood covering his face, more the color of his eyes were expressive.

“To become like us ...everyone must drink the blood of your father...Or your blood.”

He looked at me reinforcing what he said.
