Chapter 8

I slept like a log during three nights without interruption. A deep sleep devastated my being; I needed to replace my energies, since they had been sucked up by the bite of Eros.

When I opened my eyes, I felt my body was different, a sensation I had never felt before. There was emptiness inside
me; I could not feel my heartbeat.  I was a living - dead.  I looked up at the ceiling and also at the dark corners of the room; I realized I was in my bedroom, lying on the icy bed.  I sat on the bed and looked at my hands, my skin was pale, there were no signs of blood running through my veins, the color of my eyes were not dark, they became into gray as the other vampires, and around them, there was a dark rings. I realized I had turned into a vampire, a poor immortal, who was thirsty for blood.

Chapter 9

As soon as I put my feet into the main room, my father was there, standing in the corner of the room, waiting for me to appear in that place.  He knew I was starving and I would need blood.

“How do you feel?”
He asked, looking at me.

“I fell strange.”
I answered.

“It's no
rmal for you to feel this way.”

He justified and walked quickly.

When I looked at him again, he was near me, beside me. I put his hand under my chin and raised my face trying to see me better and then I looked at his face, too. My father had been fascinated by my transformation. This was a pride to him, for me having turned into a vampire.

"You turned into a   beautiful creature!” his voice tone sounded different from other times, he seemed deeply touched. "You
are perfect!"

He exclaimed and I remained in silence, as I was looking at his gray eyes.

"You must be starving!"

He
said and held my icy hands.

"You
need to eat."

He guided me to a place that I didn't know. We walked through several corridors and they were gloomy and silent. There was nobody there besides us. Bats flew over our heads, as they were frightened by the noise from our footsteps. Three bats came flying against me and at this moment I lowered my head, trying to avoid they could strike against my face. My father walked normally, he seemed familiar with that species.

We stopped in front of
a robust wall.

Then
Vincent stared at it for a few seconds as he seemed serious. ...

Soon a
fter the wall answered his look, it became separated in two parts, opening a passage to other place, and this spot was not part of the castle.

We walked through
it and automatically the opening closed and turning into a whole wall and with no fissure.  I looked back at the wall as I was frightened.

It
was pure magic.

My father
went on and I did the same thing.

We were in a town which was made of rocks. There were small, rustic houses among the smokes that had appeared into the air. The gray scenery was similar to a horror film. I was walking next to my father and I looked around us and also at the ground.

"Where are we?" I asked as I looked at the gloomy houses.

"We are in the soil from those who
kill our hunger."

"
Are there people here?"

I asked as I was taken by surprise for
having humans living there.

My father laughed at
my sense of stupidity.

I looked at his countenance as I remained in silent.

"No human could live in a place like this for several hours." he explained. “Those who live here we call 'PRE - VAMPIRES'."

"Pre-vampires?" I asked and wrinkled up my brows as I had never heard about that word end what it could mean.

"That is one of them." my father as he was looking at a creature approaching.

I looked in the direction which my father pointed out to me And I could see  something moving under a  enormous, black cape, its  face was covered with a hood. It was an unknown figure.

My father made it motionless using only the motion of right hand in direction of the creature.

I looked at
Vincent as I had not understood his conduct, that is, what he wanted I could do to the prey.

"Come on." he said to me. "
It is your meal."

I did exactly what my tutor suggested me, and then I approached the creature slowly, in fear of taking a taste of it.
From near, I could see its face, in format of a human, it was disfigured, its eyes were wide-open, in white color, and its teeth were as the teeth of lions. Its skin was barky and without validity. I could define it like a mixture of a deformed vampire.

My thirst for blood had been more elevated,
and then I pulled its hood over its head and held its neck carefully. I placed my nose against its neck, this way I could feel the smell of its fresh blood. I closed my eyes and stuck my teeth into its bloodstream. My eyes remained closed as I tasted that red liquid, and the more I drank the more I want to drink it. The creature weakened in my arms as it was at its last breath. Vincent held my arms, frightened, he prevented I could suck its blood up to last drop.

"That is
enough” he said loud.

He pulled me and I set free the faint body which went into the ground like a corpse.

"Let’s get out of here."

He
ordered and put his arm on my shoulder as we began to walk.

"
What will happen to him?"

I asked as I was feeling regretful about what I had done to that poor soul.

"It will die in a few minutes." My father explained.

Aren't
they immortal like us?" I asked him.

"This is
why they are called 'PRE- VAMPIRES'." he responded simply by looking at my face.

Chapter
10

Vincent ordered Eros to his bedroom. His servant arrived at the place
immediately. He was a little afraid and walked in the same direction of his master. He noticed something was wrong since he had requested his presence at that moment.

He realized how rude the semblance of my father was.

Then Eros stopped before him in silence and after a time he said:

"Here I am."

Vincent looked at him from head to toe.

"
You were almost perfect in his Mission."

"
What you're talking about?"

Eros asked and frowned as He was concerned about such a statement.

“Valkyrie is fallen in love with you.”

"It was not included in the plan, too, I manipulating
her heart."

Eros responded irritably.

They faced each other at the same time.

"I also have no power to do this."

He justified.

"
But you could have avoided this."  He said as he was very angry.

And he
turned, avoiding looking at His servant at that moment.

"Then tell me
! How?" Eros got tired, too.

"I trusted you." my father said, turning back to him.

"There is no reason for you not to believe me." Eros confessed, looking at his face. I didn't touch one finger on your daughter."

"The worst thing you did." he stared at Eros's face."
you molested her heart."

"If it had not been for that cursed love she felts for me she would not be here."

Eros informed and walked to the window open and gazed at the rocks.

"Or do you thing
she would come to this castle only to meet a father who had never been present in her existence?"

"
You did everything premeditated." He looked at Eros." you made her fall in love to attract her to here."

Vincent deducted as he was opposed.

"Wrong!" Eros walked slowly to the middle of the room. "I never wished this love, but as it already exists, I got the chance to finish my journey."

"
My daughter does not deserve this." he mumbled.

"
You would do the same, too or worse." Eros said, facing him.

"Go away!" Vincent ordered him.

Eros walked slowly toward the door, without looking at all sides, he maintained his upright posture. Vincent did not convince his servant he had the wrong attitude. Deep down, Vincent knew Eros had done the right thing. But because his daughter had been the pivot point of the history, this made him angry. The master of the vampires looked at the door in motion, as it was being closed by His servant, isolating him in that quiet room.

Chapter
11

Valeska buttoned back of my dress, from the bottom up, as she was looking at me
and in her mind there was a desire to be in my place, being the legitimate daughter of the most powerful vampire in the universe. She noticed I didn't have this conception; On the contrary, I always wanted to be born and die as human origin. Everything I was living at that moment that was not to my liking, living in a cool, gloomy and desert place.  Being slave of blood and due to this the victims had lost their lives.

"You’re so quiet!"

"I am afraid of
what I became for myself."

I said as I was looking down at my pale feet into contact with ground.

"You have not yet realized How much good it is all this!" she excitedly told me.

"If only I knew this would end this way I would not have come into this planet." I confessed to her.

"
Why are you here?" she asked When she looked at my face.

“I
am here because of my father." I answered and looked away or faced the ground when responding to questions.

"
You know that you can pour out your worries with Me." she looked into my eyes and said:  "you have nobody here to do this besides me."

"I don't want to talk about this."

"Eros is your torment! I see this!"

She
affirmed as she was trying to force my confession.

"Does he know about it?"

"No, he didn't."

"Why do you not say anything to him?"

"I'm afraid."

"
Why?"

"For his reaction, I do not know how he will act knowing this"

"And if does he feel the same thing for you?"

“If he feels the same thing for you... I must hope for his pronouncement."

"He will not do this." she declared.

"How do you know this?" I asked, looking into her face.

"I know him for a hundred years... I believe he would never confess his feelings to someone."

"Do you really think he feel something for me?"

"I cannot asseverate you this... but he behaves in a similar way as who is secretly in love."

Those words of Valeska encouraged me to face my fears and try to confess to Eros Everything I was feeling for him, in other words, this was a feeling which was born within me for the first time since the day I saw him in the classroom.

Valeska made me feel more confident,   I had the courage to face everything under an optimistic perspective, and she had convinced me Eros could correspond up to my love which I felt for him. In addition to this I would need to be able to say to him about the existence of my love.

I thought this would not be an easy task and not impossible.

Chapter 12

I took a seat next to Valeska.

Eros took a seat facing Valeska and next to Bizak, who was facing me. My father was sitting at the end of the table.

The menu was only bloody meat.

And finally I tasted a drink made with blood. My father required a toast among us. It was the first Family meal I had shared with them, in that exotic style, where blood was main course.  All of us were with our gray eyes and our teeth were sharp.  The clarity was reflected from the torches lit on the corners of the walls and it made each of us see our countenance clearly. The first face I saw it was my father's face that was monitoring our dinner. Immediately after that, I looked at Valeska who whispered in my ear after she had run her attentive eyes on top of Eros.

"Remember about what we talked." her voice sounded slowly and low, it was only for me to hear.

I did not say anything, I only lifted my eyes up I could see Bizak’s face with his eyes wide open on me. His look seemed insinuate and commonplace.

Automatically I gaze
d at his left and saw Eros with his head bowed and silent. He seemed to avoid everybody sitting around the table. I thought of attracting his attention, and then I looked at a jar on the dining table which was Next to him.

"Eros, can you pass me the jar, please!" I
said, looking at him.

He
lifted his head and looked into my eyes. I stared at his face, without fear, I believed in the possibility of his feeling with regard to me, too. He had made the jar come to me, using only the strength of his mind. I was awfully frightened; I stayed paralyzed, after the speed of the object coming in my direction. I confess I was waiting for the formality from his part.

"You can also do this, Valkyrie."

My father articulated, seeing me astonished.

"I don't know how to do this." I said as I was completely flummoxed.

"Try to do the same." my father insisted.

He
put the jar back at its place, just as Eros had put it in front of me.

"You can do it, keep going." he persisted.

I tried not disappoint him and did as he said. I stared into the jar, depositing all strength of my mind and something could happen at that moment. After several attempts with no success, I gave up, embarrassed.

"I cannot." I murmured, lowering my head.

"Okay, dear, when your time comes, you Will do this with no failure." my father said, looking at me.

Even as he says this, I felt as my father had expected more determination from me.

"It took me a long time to learn how to do this, Valkyrie." Bizak stressed.

It cheered me up after I had heard Bizak saying that he had difficulty in doing that. It was a sign that the problems was not only with me. And I would not be unable to do that. It was only a question of time.
