By the end of the story, which character evolves the most as a person? Who remains most stagnant?
2.
Does the friendship between the women seem to hinder or support each woman's spiritual growth? Explain.
3.
Considering his stature in the church and the community and the magnitude of Sullivan's betrayal, should Charles have taken her back? Why or why not?
4.
Was Sullivan just spoiled and self-indulgent, or did she have a legitimate reason to be so unhappy with her life and in her marriage?
5.
Should Sullivan, Angel, or Lawson have called the police on Kina's behalf once they found out that E'Bell was abusing her, or should they have let Kina handle the situation on her own? Why?
