He was cut off by my bedroom door being kicked open and Jet storming in.

After I dropped Chassis of at her dorm, I went back to the fire scene.  Jason and Jerod were sitting on the tailgate of Jason’s pickup with Asher and Mitch standing there.

“I know
Kyle did this, I’ll almost guarantee you.” Jerod said to us.

“I don’t doubt it either, he better hope I never see him.” I replied and sat down next to him.

“The good news is, it’s all insured for about one point five million.” Jason told us. 

I knew he had kept everything insured that was something he was very adamant about.  He was always worried that something would spark a fire inside the building since there had been numerous fires from people throwing shop rags into a pile and the solvent on them combusting. 

“Any chance this could have started from shop rags?” I asked.

“Nope the company came and picked them up yesterday morning, the clean ones are in my office.” He told me.

We sat there in silence and watched as the blaze started to finally die down, and the firefighters only had to put out small fires.  I could see through the door that everything was charred and everything would have to be replaced. 

“So did you and Chass get a chance to talk things through?” Jerod asked.

“Yeah, well, yeah I think so.”

“I should apologize to her it’s not her fault this happened, but if I find out it was
Kyle, (he shook his head) I’m going to put him in the hospital.”

“I’ll help.” I replied. 

A firefighter walked over to us, “I’m Fire Chief Dixson, if you guys want to go ahead and go home we’ll contact you when we come back to investigate.”

“You won’t let anybody into the building will you?” Jason asked.

“No sir, only my firemen will be allowed in there to check for hot spots.”

“Good, because we’re pretty sure that somebody started this fire.”

The fire chief nodded, “I’d have to agree, tomorrow afternoon we should know more.”

We shook his hand then got in our vehicles to leave, “If you think Chass is still up I’ll go over there with you and apologize to her.  I was pretty harsh.”  Jerod told me. 

I tried to call her but her phone rang and rang then went to voicemail, I hadn’t been gone long enough for her to be asleep so I figured if anything she was probably taking a shower.  I waited a few minutes and called again the phone rang one time and went to voicemail so I knew that the call had been ignored.

“Let’s just go over there.” I said and put my phone back in my pocket. 

When we got out of our vehicle Asher immediately stopped walking and looked at a motorcycle that was parked at the very back of the parking lot in a dark corner.  Mitch looked at her, “You coming inside?”

“Umm, I’m pretty sure that’s
Kyle’s crotch rocket over there.”  She said pointing to the black Ducati.

I turned and started in to the building when my cell phone rang, “Yeah?” I answered the call but didn’t recognize the number.

“Jet?” A woman’s voice said.

“Yeah?”

“Hey this is Lilly, I’m the one that you-I live across from Chass and I uh, I keep hearing a lot of cussing and I’ve heard her yell a couple of times.  Is everything okay with you two?” she asked.  “My god seriously what are you two doing over there?”

“I’m not even in the building I’m getting ready to come in.” I told her

“Oh…you might want to hurry it sounds like she’s being hurt.”

I hung up and took off running into the building, Jerod, Mitch, and Jason caught up with me.

“What’s going on?” Mitch asked with a confused look. 

I put my finger to my mouth to tell him to be quiet,
I put my ear up to the door and could faintly hear Chass talking telling somebody to stop.  Then I heard Kyle’s evil laugh and then a door inside slam shut.

“He’s in there.” I said and went to turn the handle to the door
it wasn’t locked or latched I was able to push it open. 

Asher pulled her phone out and called the cops, and stayed out in the hall way as us men went inside.  My blood boiled as I heard Chass beg him to stop but he didn’t, he kept
calling her a whore and that he had heard me and her fucking against the door.  Then told her to relax and enjoy what he was going to do to her.  Jerod’s eyes were huge and his fists were tightly clenched at his sides.  We all quietly made our way towards her bedroom.

“
Kyle, stop please!  I don’t know why you are…ouch!  Please you’re hurting me!” she said and I could tell she was crying.

“Tonight you’re going to cum and I’m going to cum when I’m fucking balls deep inside of that tight pussy.” He told her. 

“No…please…” slap he shut her up by slapping her.  I reached down and tried the door handle but it was locked.  I was shaking with anger as I stepped back to kick the door open.  I heard her cry out again then I kicked the door open, as soon as it swung open Chassis swung her dad’s race helmet and clocked Kyle in the side of the head.  Kyle looked at the blood on his hand and said something that I couldn’t hear because of the blood thundering in my ears.  Chassis stood there naked and crying when I ran behind him and tackled him to the floor.  I flipped him over and straddled his chest, pinning his arms down with my knees, I rained punch after punch down on his face.  He spit blood in my face and smiled at me then looked over at Chassis and smiled.  She tried to cover her body then grabbed her sweat pants and shirt and quickly put them on. 

“I should fucking kill you!” I told him.

“You’re too big of a pussy, even though your dad was a murder…”

I pulled my fist back one more time and punched him with everything I had, silence fell over the room
except for Chassis’s cry.  Jerod pulled me off of Kyle’s motionless silent body, Chass ran over and threw herself at me and started sobbing.  “Did you?  Is he? Dead?” she sobbed.

“No, he’s not dead but I’m sure he’ll be in ICU for a day or two.” Jason said as he put his fingers on
Kyle’s pulse against his neck.

Two police officer
s come charging into the room with their guns drawn and yelling at everybody to freeze and step away from the body.

“He tried to…he tried to rape me!” Chassis cried and hugged me around the waist as the officers skirted around us putting their guns back in their holsters on their hip.  One talked into this mic on his shoulder and called for an ambulance to the dorm.

I wrapped my arms tighter and Chassis as she continued sobbing, “He…he said that he set the place on fire.  Oh god this is all my fault.” She sobbed.

“No it’s not, hey look at me.” I titled her chin up, “He isn’t right in the head.” I told her.

Asher came running into the room and right to Chassis, “Come on there’s a female officer out here that wants to talk to you.” She said to Chass and pulled her into her arms.  I walked out with her and sat down with her on my lap on the couch as the officer asked her question after question.

“Did he penetrate you with his penis?”

Chassis shook her head ‘no’, “I..I hit him..over the head with my dad’s…dad’s helmet before he could.” She cried.

“Did he penetrate your vaginal area?” the lady asked.

Chassis nodded her head yes.

“With?”

“His fingers...”

My gut knotted with pain for Chassis
and my blood was on fire, I wanted to go back in her room and beat the hell out of Kyle again.

“Okay, and who is this young man?” She asked Chassis
and looked at me.

“My boyfriend, Jet.”

The officer extended her hand to me, “You’ll need to talk to another officer and give your statement.  I’m sorry that this happened.  We need to get her to the hospital to perform a rape kit on her.  They’ll do a physical as well since it looks like you’ve been hit in the face.” She told Chassis.

“Jet won’t be arrested will he?” Asher asked

“I don’t think so.” The officer smiled at her.

After talking to Officer Kaden, I wasn’t arrested and wouldn’t be charged with anything since I was intercepting bodily harm on Chassis.  She had left in another ambulance so I hurried out of the dorm and went to the hospital.  Everybody was in the waiting room except for Asher that was in the exam room with Chassis.  I called Chassis mom and explained to her what had happened, she sobbed into the phone and told me they would be there as soon as possible.  I called her Uncle John after we hung up and told him, he told me they would ride with Alice and to let him know if Chassis got out before they got there.  “You take her to YOUR place don’t let her out of your sight god damnit.” He barked into the phone with a shaky voice.

“Yes sir, I’m sorry I wasn’t there to stop it from happening.” I told him.

“That boy’s had it bad for her for years he’s sick in the fucking head.” He said.

We talked for a few minutes then hung up.  Asher came walking out of the exam room, “Um, I think she wants you in there.” She said nervously.

I hurried to the exam room, my knees about buckled at the sight of Chassis.  Her face was bruising and her lip was cut.  She wiped tears away and held her hand out to me where she laid on the exam table.  I grabbed her hand lowered my chest to hers as she sobbed, a doctor cleared his throat. “I’m Doctor Kline…” I stood up and wiped the tears off of my face that had
started falling when Chassis grabbed onto me for dear life.  I extended my hand to shake the doctors and introduced myself.

“Okay, Mr. Crow
…”

“Jet please…”

“Right, well we performed a rape kit on her, and there is a trace of forced entry but she said it was from his fingers.”

I nodded my head and Chassis squeezed my hand, “Okay, is she okay though?” I asked.

The doctor nodded his head, “Yes sir, but there is a couple of things we need to discuss.” He reached over and shut the lights off.  A computer screen with a grey fuzzy picture appeared and two little dots showed up on the screen. 

I looked at Chassis, “What’s wrong?  What is that?” I asked in a shaky voice thinking there had been some internal damage.

“That Jet would be twin babies.  She is about five weeks along, baby one is right there and baby two is right there.” He pointed at the two objects that were about the size of my thumb on the screen.

I stood there speechless, “What?” I asked and felt my knees start to give out.  The doctor hurried around the exam table and chuckled as he pushed a chair behind my legs.

Chassis started crying, “I’m so sorry, so sorry!” she cried.

“What?” I asked again, “You’ve got two babies in there?”

She cried and nodded her head again, “I’m so sorry…I..”

I stood up and mashed my lips against hers, “Shut up woman!” I said with a smile. 

“Aren’t you mad?” she asked and wiped her tears away.

I shook my head no and looked her in the eyes, “Are YOU mad?  I seem to remember you…”

“Shut up!” she said with laugh and pulled me down to kiss her again.

The doctor cleared his throat, “Now, there is some concern that since she was unaware that she is pregnant, she has been drinking over those five weeks.  We will keep a close eye on her for the next couple of months.  If you have any bleeding, cramping, or extreme nausea please come see me immediately.” He told us.
“You are free to go, here is an appointment card for a follow up at the clinic in two weeks.  Please don’t hesitate to talk to a counselor about what happened.” He handed her a paper and a card then shook my hand and left the room.

“Are you okay?” she asked.

“Fucking twins?” I whispered and looked at the paper the doctor had handed her.

“Yeah, where do those come from?” she asked as she put her clothes back on. 

“Nathan’s side, his brothers, my Uncles, Jerods dad..are twins.” I said as I looked at the two spots on the paper.

“Jet?” Chass placed her hand on my shoulder.  I looked up at her, “If you don’t want me to keep them…”

My eyes got big, “You really should shut up, before I get pissed.  Please, I’m begging you don’t take these from me.”

“I…I just.”

“Chassis please, can’t we talk about it at the house?” I asked.

“I’m not going to get an abortion if that’s what you’re worried about, I just wasn’t sure if you were ready…”

I stood up and lowered my mouth to hers, “My god woman just shut up please!” I smiled and brushed my lips against hers.  She winced so I pulled away, “He’s in ICU by the way, did you know he was hit with a blunt force object on the left side of the head?” I said with a grin.  My cell phone rang, I pulled it out of my pocket to see that it was her mom calling, “They’re on their way here.” I told her.

She took a deep breath, “Okay, let’s go home.  I want a nice hot shower, and to relax.” She whispered against my chest.

We walked out of the exam room, Jason and Jerod jumped out of their seats and come walking over to us.  Jason pulled her into a hug then Jerod hugged her, “Everything okay?” He asked. Chassis nodded her head and squeezed my hand.
