****

It was Friday, Chassis and Asher had flown back to Ohio.  I sat there in the trailer fuming pissed that even my own brother didn’t bother to tell me she was leaving.

“Do any of you assholes know if she’s going to Kansas or is she staying at the campus?” I asked the guys.  Jerod just shrugged a shoulder, Mitch was texting on his phone and Jason was laying on the couch in the trailer watching race replays on XSAN.  When none of them answered me, I pulled my phone out to try calling Chassis.

“Will you drop it? Fuck!  She’s not going to talk to you, if I was you, I’d be more worried about making her believe that you didn’t bang that bitch Riley.” Jason said then looked back at the TV.

“Okay, know it all, just how the fuck am I supposed to…HA!  Never mind, I’ll be back!” I jumped up from my chair.  Once outside the trailer I dialed Riley’s number.

“Afternoon sexy!” She answered.

“Yeah it’s a great fucking afternoon Riley, where are you?”

“Uhmm, why?”

“Well, you see little lady, we are going to sit down and have a nice fucking chit chat, that’s WHY.”

“Jet, if this is about the other night..”

I cut her off, “Riley, this IS about the other night and this IS about Chass.  I swear if you’re not at the trailer in two fucking minutes.  I’m going to make your life pure hell.” I hung up before I could hear her reply.

I went back into the trailer, sat back down.

“What was that all about?” Jason asked.

“You’ll see.” I told him.

“Whatthefuckever.” He mumbled.

I rolled my eyes, “Hey, how do I order the races on that XSAN?” I asked.

“Online.” Jerod said with a confused look.  “How are you going to watch it if you’re going to be here racing though?”

“Really?  I thought I would be nice and let you guys stay at the trailer and watch it on TV.” I told him while trying to hold back a laugh.

Okay I guess?” He asked even more confused.

I shook my head, “Really?  You’re going to watch it from the trailer?  Or do you suppose it would be nice of me to order it so Chass and Asher could watch it online at the house?”

Jerod narrowed his eyes at me, “Fuck you asshole, I’m still hung over.  My brain isn’t firing off all eight cylinders yet.” He told me and flipped me off.

Mitch and Jason both started laughing, “Do you ever fire off all eight?  I think you’re usually banging off about five and a half.” Jason said around a laugh.  Jerod shook his head and flipped us all off.

“Jet?” Riley said from the trailer door.

“What in the fuck?” Jason said and set up on the couch.

“Hello to you to Jason.” Riley said with an irritated tone.  Riley and Jason never did get along, then after she moved I think Jason took his dislike for Riley to the next level.  He no doubt hated her with a passion.

“So RILEY, have a seat.” I motioned to the couch next to Jason.

“Uh, No thank you, I’ll stand.” She said and leaned against the door of the trailer.

I grinned at her then stretched my legs out in front of me and crossed my arms over my chest.  Riley eyed me up and down so I m
ade sure to adjust myself when she was staring at my crotch.  “Well, now that I have your attention, we need to discuss what didn’t happen the other night.”

She rolled her eyes, “Jet seriously?  Nothing happened what’s the big deal?”

I shook my head, Jason snorted, Mitch laughed and Jerod rolled his eyes.  I grabbed the condom out of my wallet, “Care to explain what the fuck you were trying to accomplish?” I asked and flicked the condom at her.

She shrugged a shoulder, “I just thought we could…Do we have to talk about this in front of all them?”

I nodded my head once, “Sure do, I have nothing to hide from them.  So, how did that condom get holes poked in it?”

Riley stood there blinking, “I uh…I don’t…Jet, I really want to talk with you alone.” She whined.

I shook my head, “No RILEY!  We are going to talk here in front of them so they can hear the bullshit you have to say.  So for starters, how the fuck did you give up MY son without MY consent?”

“I didn’t list you on the birth certificate
.” She said while glaring at me.

“I figured, and what did you tell the adoptive family about me?”

She shrugged a shoulder, “Just that you weren’t in the picture.”

I shook my head, “Bullshit!  What did you tell them?”

She blew out a breath, “Jet, I told them that we were both drunk and that you insisted on not using a condom so it would feel better.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at her, “Do you get to see Chase whenever you want to?”

She wiped a stray tear off her cheek and nodded her head yes.

I looked over at Jason, his jaw muscle ticked as he glared at her, back at me then at her again.

“How far do they live from here?”

Riley’s head snapped up to look at me, “Why?”

I shrugged a shoulder, “I’d like to see my son, if they’ll let me.  So you need to call them.  Then, after THAT phone call, you’re calling Chassis.”

“I AM NOT calling HER!” Riley yelled.

“Yeah, Riley you will.  Chassis thinks that he was dumb enough to fuck you, since he was dumb enough to play tonsil hockey and get to second base with you.  The funny thing is, I’m not a hundred percent sure that you didn’t know we were all standing there.”  Jason said.

Riley rolled her eyes and threw her arms out to her sides, “Fine JASON, I seen her peeking around the front of the semi like a little five year old.  Jet love
s me still or he wouldn’t have…”

“The fuck if I do!  It was a lapse in my judgment
, for whatever reason I let myself make a mistake.  I didn’t fuck you but Chassis thinks we did.  So, call Chase’s family then you’re calling Chassis.” I yelled at her.  She went to step out of the trailer, “Where are you going?” I asked her.

“To call his family, is that okay?”

“Nope, do it from right here.” I told her.

“No!”

“Riley, YOU owe me too fucking much to think you can control this.”

“Fine JET!” she yelled then scrolled through her phone.

She glared at me as it rang through her speaker phone.  A man’s deep voice answered;

“Hello”

“Mike?  This … This is Riley.”

“Oh Hi Riley, how are you?  Are you wanting to see Chase?”

“Well, (she blew out a breath), Mike, Chase’s dad Jet wants to meet him.”

There
was a long silence on the phone then he cleared his throat.  “Well, hang on let me talk to Kim.  Give me just one second.” He covered the phone we could faintly hear him talking to somebody in the background.  After a few minutes he came back on the line “Riley?”

“Yes”

“Kim said that is okay, we are both kind of wondering why you lied to us though.  You do realize that you told us he wanted nothing to do with Chase and refused to be listed on the Birth Certificate though right?”

Riley blew out a breath, “I know, but…I just didn’t want Jet to know about him because he would have fought me on giving Chase up for adoption.”

I yanked the phone out of her hand, “Mike?  This is Jet, listen, I just want to meet my son.  I’m not going to cause any problems with you guys.  Riley was in the wrong giving him away without me knowing about him.  I’m sure you two are doing an excellent job with him, can I please just meet him?”

“Sure Jet, we have no problem with you meeting him.  We have wanted him to grow up knowing his biological mom and dad.  Where do you live?  We live in Boone, Iowa.”

I looked at Riley and shook my head, “I’m racing at the Super Nationals I don’t race today though.”

Mike laughed, “Well hell, I mean heck.  You’re the Jet Crow that wrecked the other night then turned around the next day and won in
your back-up car?”

I laughed back, “Yeah that’d be me.”

“You have today off, it’s almost three do you want to meet up for supper somewhere in town?  I’m sure Chase would be over the top excited to see your car up close.”

“Sure, but, uh can I bring my pit crew with me, they are wanting to meet him as well.  One is my brother, one is my cousin and the other is my roommate at college.”

“Not a problem, give me your cell number.  We will meet you down town at McDonalds, if that’s okay with you.  Chase loves the play center there.” He said with another laugh.

“Right on!  See you in an hour.” I gave him my phone number before we hung up.

I looked at Riley, “Well that sure had to be awkward for you, not near as bad as the next phone call you have to make.” I told her.

“Jet, I’m not calling her!”

“You ARE!” I argued and pushed the speed dial for Chassis.  When she answered I lost my voice.

“Jet please stop…”

“Chass, baby please listen.  I’m not even going to do all the talking, somebody has something they want to tell you.”

“What?”

I put her on speaker phone and handed the phone to Riley.

“Hello?  Jet?”

Riley cleared her throat, “Chassis, this is Riley.”

Unbelievable!  He’s WITH you and calling me?!  That takes …”

“SHUT UP!  Jesus woman!” Jason yelled.

Riley started talking, “Listen, I’m calling to tell you a few things.  The first thing you need to know, is that Jet and I didn’t fuck the other night.  He stopped anything from happening, we didn’t go past second base.  I seen you peeking around the front of the rig so that’s why I threw myself at him, he didn’t want to do anything I knew that he was just drunk enough to let me try though.  Third, I did poke holes in the condom because I wanted to trap Jet because I’m still in love with him.  I can tell you right now that he loves you more than he ever loved me.”

I stood there blinking and in shock, there was nothing but silence on the phone, “Chassis?” Riley said.

“I’m here, I’m just not sure what to say.  I think it’s safe to say that the two ex-girlfriends I’ve had the pleasure of meeting are complete psychos though.  I know that I seen him doing things with you he shouldn’t have been doing, there’s absolutely no excuse for his actions.  If he loves me SOOO much he wouldn’t have even touched you.  He can say I’m over reacting but he would have flipped out on a guy if he would have caught me kissing him.  I have to go, I’m not in the mood to hash anything out right now.” Chassis said then hung up before Riley could say anything else or before I could stop her.

Riley handed me back my phone and shrugged a shoulder, “I tried but I think she’s still pissed.  Listen Jet, I’m not stupid I know you don’t have feelings for me anymore and I’m pretty sure you hate me as much as your brother does.  If you love her as much as I think you do, you will work thing
s out with her, the next time a woman comes on to you walk away from her.”

I nodded my head, “It’s fine for you to leave now.”

An hour later we were all piled into Carley’s
PT Cruiser she let us borrow to take to town.  Jason and Jerod had to sit in the back while I drove and Mitch sat up front, Jason all of the sudden busted out laughing as I drove down the highway.  I looked in the rear view mirror at him, “Have you gone crazy or something?”

He shook his head and laughed harder, “You’re going to make one hell of a first impression on the parents, pulli
ng up in a bright purple PT Cruiser that has a glittery bunny sticker on the front windshield and a rainbow air freshener that says “Lesbian Love”. I can’t wait to see their faces.  For the record I’m not related to you as long as you’re the pilot of this beast.” He finished around more laughter.  Everybody in the car was laughing except for me, I flipped them all off and turned the radio up.  As if Jason hadn’t already made it almost impossible to drive without wrecking, the song ‘
Wannabe’
by the
Spice Girls
started blaring through the speakers.  Then the unbelievable happened, Mitch started dancing and singing along while pumping his hips back and forth, “
Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want, So tell me what you want, what you really really want, I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want, So tell me what you want, what you really really want, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really really really wanna zigazig ha
.” He sang along.  Jerod started singing along with the next set of lyrics, followed by Jason.  I was absolutely speechless, all of these mother fuckers stood over six foot three inches tall, one played college football and the rest of us could pass as players.  Here they were hip thrusting and screeching out the lyrics to fucking ‘Wannabe’, I tried to turn the volume down but Mitch slapped my hand away and shook a finger at me.  I weaved between traffic and pulled into McDonald’s parking lot, yanked the e-break into place and jumped out leaving the other three singing along as the song ended.  I heard their car doors shut then they were all laughing as they caught up with me just before I pulled the door open.
