“Long time no see, pretty lady. Scream and I kill you, understand?”

Noah scanned the room. “Where’s Kari?”

“She went downstairs to check the alarm.”

“How long ago?”

“No more than five minutes. Maybe ten.” Alexa’s eyes were wide, and her voice quiet. “I just assumed she was checking stock or something…”

Noah bounded down the stairs and stopped in his tracks at the sound of scuffling from the back room. He was torn between calling 911 and rushing back upstairs to get the others. He opened his cell and made the call while running back upstairs.

“Something is going on downstairs.”

As soon as he said the words, the others ran down with him, except Adison. He sprinted toward Kari’s bedroom. Noah didn’t have time to ask what he was doing. Once downstairs, Noah told Alexa to turn on all the lights, and then he pushed open the door to the back room.

Noah retched as he stared at Kari, her top and skirt torn and her torso facedown on the table. A man dressed in dirty jeans and a sweatshirt stood over her, holding a gun to her head. He’d put a ball gag into her mouth and had tied her wrists behind her back. Her ankles were bound with bondage tape. The torn-open packages from both items that had come off her shelves were on the floor.

The man whirled around and waved the gun at them. “Don’t you come in here! Don’t come any closer or I’ll blow her fucking brains out. I blew out Tangie’s, and I’ll blow hers out, too.”

Noah had to fight to keep from passing out. This man was Donnie McCoy. Why hadn’t he listened to Kari? She’d been right, and no one had believed her. “The police are on their way, Donnie. It’s over.” Noah’s heart was hammering so fast he was sure he’d pass out. The calmness of his words surprised him, but he knew he had to keep it under control for Kari. He’d kill this fucking bastard before he’d let anything happen to her.

“I said get back.” Donnie’s eyes were wild as he waved the gun at whoever was standing behind Noah. “Get out. All of you. Or I waste her now.” He put the gun up against Kari’s ass and Noah’s gut heaved as she whimpered and tried to twist away from the cold steel.

Noah put up his hands. “Okay, okay. We’re going.” Kari twisted her head to look into his eyes, and Noah nearly gasped at the fear in them. They had to do something. Where the fuck were the police? And where the hell was Adison?

He turned around and motioned for Chase and Luke to go around to the back of the shop. There were tools in the shed out back that they could use to break down the door, and he hoped they knew that or that Alexa would tell them. The hell with the alarm. In fact…

“The alarm,” he mouthed to Alexa. “Trip it.”

Understanding finally dawned in her eyes, and she nodded.

Noah gave the scene in front of him one final glance. How could he do this? How could he leave Kari in the hands of this man? He looked into her eyes and realized the fear he saw wasn’t for herself—it was for him. She was afraid Donnie was going to shoot him. Something shifted, deep in his soul. It was then, at that precise moment in time, that Noah knew he was hopelessly, helplessly in love with Kari.

The glass in the window broke just as a flash lit the room. Noah heard a pop, and then he ducked down and covered his head.

Chapter Twenty-One

Adison had never killed a man. His hands had been shaking when he pulled the trigger, but his aim had been true. The man lay bleeding all over Kari’s floor, but somehow he didn’t think she’d care.

Noah was untying her. She was sobbing and he was holding her. He wanted to go to her but his feet wouldn’t move. Adison heard shouts and turned to see Sean Brennan, one of the Racy Detectives, running toward the back of the house with other officers. That snapped him back to reality.

Adison handed Sean the gun, and gave him a quick rundown on what had happened. Noah filled in some of the details.

“The ADA called me,” said Sean, glancing at Kari. “I’m sorry we didn’t take it more seriously, Kari.”

“She’ll be okay now,” said Noah. “She has us.” He stared at Adison with nothing short of admiration in his eyes. “She has both of us.”

Adison swallowed against the sudden lump in his throat as he approached the pair and took Kari into his arms. Noah clapped him softly on the back, and then he put an arm across his shoulder for a second. “You saved her life.” His voice shook. “Thank you.”

“You’d have done nothing less, Noah.” Adison knew from that point on he and Noah would become good friends. Kari was their whole world, and they’d defend her with their own lives. They’d just proven it.

Kari woke up screaming again, and Noah held her until she stopped. She’d had nightmares now for the past three nights. He and Adison hadn’t left her side at night since the shooting. “Same dream again?” he asked, already knowing the answer.

“Yes,” she whispered. “I can still smell his rancid breath as he leaned over and told me what he was going to do to me before he killed me, only in the dream, I’m alone. You two aren’t there to rescue me.”

Adison turned on the light. “But we were there, Kari. And we’re here now. We’re not going anywhere.” He glanced at Noah. “Neither of us is.”

“Promise?”

“Yes.”

She curled up on her side, and each man took turns stroking her back and hair. Once she’d finally fallen back to sleep, Noah and Adison crept out to the living room, after putting on their pants. Sometimes Alexa woke up when Kari screamed in her sleep, but tonight she had either slept through it, or hadn’t come out of her room. They’d both invited Kari to stay at their place, but she said if she didn’t sleep in her own house, she’d be afraid to for the rest of her life. And she wasn’t going to leave Alexa alone at night, regardless.

Adison took a seat on the sofa and put his head in his hands. “What are we going to do? How are we going to help her get over this?”

“We’re doing it. We’re with her, and we’re supporting her through it. It will take time.”

“I have to tell you something.” He gave Noah a long searching look. “I love her. I don’t think I ever stopped.”

Noah smiled. That wasn’t a big surprise at all. “I know that, you smug shit. I love her, too. But you already knew that, didn’t you?”

Adison chuckled. “Yeah. I guess I’ve known it for some time. This is okay, isn’t it? I mean, with you, too, right?”

Noah nodded. “Yeah. It didn’t start out that way, but I’m good now. I like it, to be honest. You’re one kick-ass dude, Adison Kincaid. You shot that fucker without a moment’s hesitation. I don’t know what I would have done.”

“I was scared shitless, Noah. But I had to do it. That’s where I went when you all went downstairs. To get my gun.”

“I realize that now. Sean didn’t give you any trouble, did he?”

Adison shook his head. “Nope. And he never will. The only thing they’re focusing on now is that Donnie had help. The ADA told Sean they’ve re-opened the investigation into the break-in at the apartment Kari used to share with Alexa because now they know Donnie had help. They still can’t find the orange jumpsuit he was wearing when he escaped, and he had cash on him that night.”

“I hate that she doesn’t have closure yet.”

“Me too. But she will one day. And for now, she has both of us to help her through this.”

Noah nodded. “Yes, she does. And now I have the town hero as my friend.”

“She needs us both, Noah. And I need you, too, man.”

Noah grinned. “She does need us both. And it’s about time you admitted that you don’t hate me, you smug shit.”

“I don’t have many friends, Noah. I’m honored to count you among mine.”

“Same here, Adison. Hell, I never had friends. But I have one now.”

Kari knelt in front of Noah and Adison wearing nothing but the black lacy bra with nipple cutouts and crotchless panties they’d picked out for her from the stock that had finally arrived the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Tonight, two days into the New Year, they were in Noah’s condo, where this all began. They’d told Kari they had something special for her. She’d also made the decision to finally go through with the plan she’d had the night Tye Me Up had opened. She was going to tell them she loved them—tonight—no matter what the consequences.

She’d resolved to do so the night Donnie McCoy had attacked her, but every time she’d tried since then, the fears about being rejected had surfaced. No more. She had to move on. She was no longer having nightmares, and although the police in New York still didn’t know how Donnie had found her, she knew she was safe now. It was time to put her past behind her and tell both men how she felt so that she could move forward.

“Kari,” said Noah, his voice soft and tender, “you may look at me.”

She raised her gaze, and her mouth fell open when she saw what he held in his hands. It was a thin silver chain with a trio of little hearts, and it sparkled in the candlelight like it was made of tiny diamonds.

“Kari”—his voice broke—“I love you. We both do. I should have told you before now. Adison and I both want you with us, as our sub and as our lover, for the rest of our lives.” Noah slipped the necklace on and fastened it. “This isn’t a traditional collar, but ours isn’t a traditional relationship, so we hope you like it, and that you’ll accept it.”

Tears ran down her cheeks. They loved her. All this time, and they’d felt the same way. She could hardly believe it. She moved her gaze to Adison. His smile was kind and his eyes were soft as he stroked her hair.

“Kari, I should have told you a long time ago how much I love you. I should never have let you go to New York, but now that you’re back, I want to be with you forever. As Noah said, it’s not a traditional collar, but we hope you’ll accept it just the same. We want to own you, but in reality it’s you who own us. You have our hearts and you always will.”

“I love you both, too.” She wiped tears from her eyes. “I should have told you, but I was so afraid. Afraid of what had happened to me with The Sir, and afraid of Donnie McCoy. But I’m not afraid anymore. I love you both so much, and I always will. I want to be with you both for the rest of my life.”

Her breath caught in her throat and she had to swallow fresh tears before she could continue. “I was afraid you’d reject me, the way The Sir did. I was afraid if I told you that I loved you, I’d be putting you in danger from Donnie McCoy. God…I’ve spent so much time being afraid, but I don’t want to live in fear anymore. I love you both so much.”

The astonishment and happiness in their faces made her heart soar. “May I stand up and see what it looks like around my neck?” she whispered.

“Yes—yes, of course.” Noah helped her to her feet, and Kari stood in front of the mirror over his dresser, fingering the collar. It was exquisite.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

She turned to face her Doms. “It’s perfect. And I accept it. Of course I do. I accept you both as my lovers and my Doms. She fell into their combined embrace, kissing each man, not knowing whose lips were on hers or whose tongue was in her mouth, and not caring.

Someone blindfolded her with what felt like a silk scarf. Kari sighed as strong arms picked her up. Their combined colognes filled her head, mixed with the scent of leather and lube. She bit back a giggle. The smell wasn’t unlike that inside Maddox’s club.

“Will you wear the collar always?” asked Noah, his warm breath close to her ear.

“Yes. Yes, I will.”

She was placed against a wall, and her arms were pulled over her head. Noah had pulleys and rings attached to one wall, and she assumed that’s where she was. When cuffs were placed around her wrists and she heard the sound of clips fastening, she knew she’d been right.

“Kari…” Adison’s voice was close to her face. “I just can’t get enough of you.”

“Thank you, sir.”

“Call me Adison tonight. I love to hear you say my name.”

Desire washed over Kari like warm water, helping to heal the demons of the past. “Adison…I can’t get enough of you either.”

“Well, I want in on this, too,” said Noah, his voice full of humor.

“Noah, I love you both so much. I can’t get enough of either of you.”

“What do you want us to do to you tonight, Kari? This night is for you. You call the shots.”

She shook her head. “No. I wouldn’t be comfortable doing that. I want to submit to you. Both of you.”

Noah lifted her blindfold and looked into her eyes. “Just one thing. Tell us one thing you want.”

How could she refuse those blue eyes anything? “Erase it—all of it. The Sir, New York, Donnie…all of it.”

Noah stroked her cheek with one finger, his gaze lingering on hers. No man had ever looked at Kari that way before. Adison stepped closer and kissed her on one cheek. “We’ll do that, Kari. We’ll chase it all away and replace it with new memories.”

She bit her lip. “That’s all I want.”

“Do you want to be blindfolded tonight?” asked Adison. “You can answer honestly.”

Kari thought about it for a second. “No. I want to look into your eyes—both of you.”

Noah took off her blindfold and cupped her face. He kissed her deeply, tenderly, while Adison secured cuffs around her ankles. When Noah released the kiss, Adison asked her to step wide apart. She did so, and he fastened her ankles to the apparatus on the wall. She was bound in a cross shape, completely at their mercy.

Both men wore leather pants and no shirts, but instead of taking the pants off they opened slits in the front so that only their dicks were exposed. Kari groaned at the sight of them, red and already slick. She wanted them inside her, fucking her mercilessly until the last memories of everything associated with Donnie and The Sir were gone.

As she took a deep breath, the necklace gently rubbed against her skin, making her smile. She’d missed wearing a collar. It had always made her feel as if she truly belonged to someone, and now she had two men to whom she was bound. The new collar reminded her of the carved wooden box in her room with the heart charm from her previous collar in it.

“May I ask for something else tonight?”
