Every part of his body, every single fiber of his being, had been created to protect Genevieve. Nothing he could do or say would change that fact. His feelings for Talia ran deep and would likely be the closest thing to love Kota would ever feel. Yet, as wrong as it felt to be with Talia while all he could see was Genevieve’s naked body writhing against Eli, he had no choice. The Fallen were coming in two days, and he had to be strong enough to protect the Seer.

“Stop thinking, Kota. I know I’m not and never will be a part of you like the Seer. I’m okay with that. I came to you so you could gain strength,” Talia whispered in his ear.

Kota knew Genevieve could see every sordid detail of what was about to happen. He could sense her feelings toward what he was doing, jealousy, lust, guilt, and her inability to care because she loved Eli so deeply. Humans reacted on feelings. Vampires and shifters reacted on instinct. Kota’s body needed strength to make the shifts and heal Genevieve should something happen to her. His mind, however, scrambled in a thousand different directions.

Talia huffed, impatient, and then hooked her long, slender leg around Kota’s hip and flipped them over. Kota still had his hand wrapped around her neck, so he pulled her down to him and kissed her hard. She broke from the kiss and moved up so her pussy was inches from his mouth. Grabbing her hips, he pulled her down and devoured her cunt. His tongue dipped in and out of her core. He sucked her clit into his mouth, flicking it with his tongue. Reaching up with his right hand, he grabbed her tit, flicking her nipple with his thumb. Talia circled her hips against his mouth, moaning his name as he worked her pussy. She arched her back, and her long hair brushed his abdominal muscles, causing him to flinch.

Kota’s head spun as her heady-tasting juices filled his mouth. Suddenly, he didn’t care about what Genevieve did with Eli. Seeing the vampire’s cock disappear into her body didn’t irritate Kota as it had before. Something inside Kota shifted as Talia’s voice rang in his ears like peals of bells. Kota pushed three fingers into Talia’s hot center and immediately his hand was coated in her essence. Wanting nothing more that to bury himself deep inside of Talia, he flipped them again.

She spread her legs wide as he pounded his fingers into her. Kota watched her back arch and her mouth fall open in a silent cry of ecstasy. Every single thing Talia did had his cock throbbing. Light shone through the treetops, casting beautiful shadows across her body. Her breasts bounced with every hard thrust of his fingers. His dick dripped with pre-cum, and his instincts told him to take her.

Pulling his hand away from her pussy, he groaned as she took his hand and brought it to her mouth, sucking his fingers clean. Kota grabbed Talia’s wrists and pinned them above her head. His hips fit perfectly between her spread legs, and his cock slid into her pussy with ease. Her body felt like home to him. Looking down into her dark eyes, he saw understanding and compassion. Talia knew the sacrifices a shifter made when he bonded with the Seer, and she understood them well. Kota let go of the images of Genevieve and grasped onto the feeling of Talia’s body as she molded to him.

“She doesn’t have to be the only woman in your life,” Talia moaned, rolling her hips so her clit rubbed against his pelvic bone. “I could give you this all the time.”

Kota guided her arms around his neck and then slid his hands down her arms until he grasped her shoulders. He used his grip for leverage and pushed into her body forcefully. “You could deal with me fucking her?” He punctuated each word with a hard thrust of his hips.

A coy smile crept onto Talia’s lips. “You don’t fuck her because you want to. You fuck her because your body heals hers.” She lifted her hips to meet his, her pussy clenching around his cock.

Kota smirked as the word “fuck” rolled off Talia’s tongue. She was a shifter as well, but her responsibilities were to heal Kota. He lifted up so his weight rested on his hands. His fingers dug into the soft forest floor as he increased his ministrations. His cock plunged so deeply into her pussy he could feel her G-spot. She gasped as he hit the spot over and over again. Kota could feel his body rejuvenating with each powerful thrust. The ground shook. He felt the muscles in his back flex as she ran her nails over his skin. He had to fight the shift because he didn’t want his time with Talia to end.

Sensing his battle against the shift, Talia quickly changed positions, so she was on her hands and knees. Seeing her like that caused Kota to roar with pleasure as he slammed back into her cunt. Kota moved relentlessly in and out of her body. His limbs quivered with the unbridled power Talia gave him. The sound of their skin slapping together echoed through the canopy of trees. Kota grabbed her hips, moving hard and fast. Talia threw her head back, her hair splaying over her beautiful back.

“You feel so fucking good.” He groaned as she met him thrust for thrust.

This felt so different than anything else he’d experienced. Kota felt as though he was just as much a part of Talia as Genevieve. She moved like fire. Her back bowed up when he pulled out and arched down when he plunged back in. Her thighs were soaked with her cum, her pussy squeezing his cock tightly as she came again and again. His balls tightened, his breathing increased, and then he exploded inside of her. His cum seeped out of her cunt and dripped onto the forest floor.

Talia’s body milked him for every drop he had. Kota should have been spent, but he felt more alive and stronger than he ever had before. When he tried to pull out, he couldn’t. He realized they were locked together. He should’ve panicked, but he didn’t. Now he could sense her body’s need for his seed. As much as he needed her for strength, she needed him for the same. He couldn’t stop coming. His body knew exactly what it was supposed to do.

Kota couldn’t say anything for the moment as his body took what it needed and gave her what she craved. Once both their bodies were sated, he eased out of her and gently laid her down. A few moments of silence passed before either of them could speak again.

“You know we can never be mated, Talia?” Kota asked once he’d regained his breath.

“I don’t need to be your mate, Kota. Your body needs things as much as the Seer’s does. I could come back with you, be what you need me to be.” Talia sat up and moved away from Kota.

“Hey, don’t be like that.”

“You never wanted a mate, Kota. You never wanted to love or be loved. It’s always been about the Seer for you.” She turned her back to him, folding her legs to her chest and resting her chin on her knees.

Kota sat up, taking in her silhouette in the shadows of the trees. It had been hours since he’d left the main house, and now the moon shone through the canopy. The muted light made her skin look white as snow. Moving toward her slowly, Kota swept her black hair to the side and placed a kiss on the back of her slender neck.

“If I had known how you felt—”

“You would’ve what?” She interrupted him. “You know you can’t fight your destiny, Kota.” She turned her head just enough so he could see her profile and the single tear that slid down her cheek.

“Talia, please don’t cry.” He hated her tears because it hurt his heart.

“I understand your responsibilities. I really do, but it doesn’t hurt any less to be able to feel how much you crave her.”

Shocked, Kota crawled around her so he could see her face fully. “You feel how much I want her?”

“I’m a shifter, too, Kota! That means I can feel what you feel. I want what you want.”

As callous as Kota was, he had truly always felt deeply for her. Kota realized he felt things for Talia. He had always cared for her, even when they were children, but these feelings were deeper, stronger than they should’ve been. With this realization, the earth rattled, and his body positioned itself directly in front of her.

Talia sat up straighter, as if she had no control over her movements. Kota held his hands up, palms out, and waited for her to do the same. When her palms met his, both their bodies jolted and shook with the need to shift. Bringing his forehead to hers as they were surrounded by a soft, warm light, he laced his fingers with hers. Talia inched toward him, and when their knees touched, she moved to wrap her legs around his waist.

“Talia!” He gasped as her body took him in again. She didn’t move and neither did he.

“We are a part of each other. I will help you protect your Seer.”

Shifters worked differently than any other beings. As much as he cared for Talia, he knew his primary responsibility was to protect Genevieve. Talia rested her head against his broad shoulder and sighed softly as their bodies calmed down.

“Talia, you know I have to go back. The Fallen are coming.”

She nodded, and then sat up straighter. “Take me with you?”

He hesitated. The Generals were very particular about who entered the compound. Suddenly, his mind filled with Genevieve’s voice.
“Bring her, Kota. She is needed.”

The draw to return to Genevieve got stronger the more time he spent away from her. His pull toward the Seer felt different now. He felt as though he needed Talia with him in order to fully protect her. “Come with me.”

A soft smile spread across her face as she nodded her head. A moment later she kissed him gently on the lips. She darted off his lap and disappeared in the trees for a moment. When she came back she wore a white dress made of chiffon that flowed in the breeze. Kota quickly dressed and led her back toward the main house.

Genevieve paced the bathroom relentlessly. Having seen every single aspect of Kota having sex with the Native American woman, Genevieve felt a mix of jealousy and protectiveness. She knew nothing of shifter relationships or how it all worked, but she sensed the woman needed to return with Kota. Genevieve felt something deep in her soul. Something that told her as strong as she would be with just Kota and Eli, with this woman now bound to Kota, the foursome would be unstoppable as long as they didn’t get separated in a fight.

A soft tap on the door brought her back to reality. “Genevieve, are you all right, love?”

“I’m fine. I’ll be out in a second.”

She quickly showered and dressed in jeans and a tank top. The bedroom was empty, so she made her way down to the sitting room where she heard voices. When she walked in, she saw the beautiful woman Kota had been with in the woods. Upon seeing Genevieve enter the room, Kota relaxed immediately and the woman stood up. She circled Genevieve, twirling a strand of her long auburn hair around her hand when the woman passed behind her.

“So, you’re the Seer?” Genevieve smiled when she heard the woman speak. The air of no nonsense rang loudly in the quiet room. So many thoughts shot through her mind, and none of them were her own. She shut the shifter and the vampire out and focused solely on the female in front of her.

“Yes, and you are the female who cares for my Guardian?”

Genevieve sifted through the female’s thoughts of love, pride, want, need, and uncertainty. Overall, Genevieve felt more than heard the unspoken bond she herself shared with this female shifter.

“I don’t know much about shifters, but I know you are supposed to be here. I did not ask for this responsibility, but it has been handed to me anyway. I’m very protective of my men, female.” Genevieve moved in close and whispered the last part in her ear. “If you hurt my shifter, I will tear you apart.” Her voice was a menacing growl as she spoke. She knew Eli and Kota wouldn’t hear her because she blocked them completely.

To Genevieve’s surprise, a bell-like laugh spilled from the female’s lips. “I knew if Kota was destined to protect a Seer, she would have to be fierce.” She turned to face Genevieve, a lovely smile on her lips. “You, Seer, are fierce enough.” The Female bowed low, sweeping her elegant hands out to the side. “I am Talia. I will stand beside you.” She met Genevieve’s eyes when she said that part. “And I will protect you with my life.”

Chapter Eight

Genevieve watched as Kota and Talia sparred in the gym. Talia had speed and strength, same as Kota. Her presence would be needed greatly when the Fallen came. They had twelve hours until her vision came to pass. Genevieve’s mind reeled with flashes of what she’d seen at the club mixed with things she couldn’t make sense of. During her time at the compound, she had been able to tap into her vampire side. Getting a better feel for her powers, she focused on dematerializing.

One second she stood watching the shifters spar, the next she appeared on the other side of the gymnasium. A moment later she found herself perched in the rafters looking down at Kota, Talia, and Eli. All of them wore matching expressions of shock. Closing her eyes, Genevieve flashed around the gym until she finally came to a stop on Eli’s back. She giggled when he huffed because he never saw it coming. Placing a kiss on his neck, she hopped down.

“I didn’t know vampires could dematerialize,” Talia said in amazement.

“They don’t, only her,” Kota told her.

“We should call it a day.” Eli wrapped his arms around Genevieve’s waist as he stood behind her. “We all need our rest.”

Genevieve felt her strength waning. She knew she would have to drink from Kota. However, now that Talia had become part of them, she didn’t know how that worked. Should she just ask him? Should she ask Talia?

“My blood is your blood, Seer.” Kota answered her unspoken dilemma.
