8

It was night, I was still at school and nobody was on the place.

My instinct
designated my procedure that day. There was a need for me to be there, at that moment, in the gym’s middle.

Without
witnesses, it was inevitable, all that was happening around me.

I
walked slowly and stopped when four lamps erased, at the same time they turned to light, and seemed to have life.

All I saw were the flashing lights,
intensely, without quitting, it was a nocturnal club.

I did not fall asleep,
after what happened in the gym.

I was imagining
Eros’d be there, he close to me, it made me realizes I missed him.

Although that I shouldn’t feel
it by him.

I turned back to the window
, where I always was standing when the sleep did not immediately overtake me.

The yellow stars filled the night sky and
in its company was a full moon, brightening the obscure clouds.

I closed my eyes
and imagined an owl flying over the trees. I conjured my thoughts and it could come to find me.

Immediately
an owl emerged on my window, it was more like Eros, when he became converted into that bird.

I reached my fingers

The owl stared down at my hands and landed above my hands.

“Eros”

I said,
staring at owl and it stared into my eyes.

Its
presence banished Eros’s absence.

It was fantastic and enigmatic
something.

A vampire was
feeling dependent on an innocent owl.

I remained fixed
at night under a perfect Sky, until my sleep could come and steal it from me.

10

There were
days I didn't feed me appropriately. 

I fed prepared
food by my mother. That I didn’t consider, they didn’t extinguish desire for human blood.

Since
my return to planet Earth, I wasn’t actually given a cutter's privilege to drink a new - human blood.

My
hunt began on a Woods, distant from my home.

I didn’t want to
risk and be surprised for someone.

I'd wished
to save lives, so went in search of some wild animal.

The
thick scrub made it difficult to my journey, due my inappropriate clothes.

I should have
hunted, wearing black jeans and boots.

In fact,
I dressed a black skirt, my knees’s height, and a delicate blouse also black color and a worn sneakers.

I had a bright idea

I yelled up, I was frantic.

was still unconscious.

I said, sliding my fingers over his head and between his ears and lifting him into my lap.

He’d opened his eyes, into vampire form.

I
looked relieved for him to be conscious.

“Why did you do that?”
The shot should be on me.”

He
didn't reply, Just he closed his gray eyes, without enthusiasm to life.

Chapter
11

I transported myself, holding Eros in my arms, He was still unconscious. We were to his house.

The same
house which he led me once to reveal me my true origin.

Eros was lying on the floor, in front of me
, his blood dirtied my clothes.

Was I glad
he was there beside me? Actually, I felt nervous about his wound.

I put my right hand on his wound’s
point and a gray energy appeared around his body, doing circular movements.

Then
, the wound was healed.

And in this case cost me
my vampire energy, I was weak, I hadn’t drunk blood and there was I lost sleep’s nights.

“Blood”

I managed to say before my body contorted and I bent forward, putting my palms on the floor.

Eros
opened his eyes and looked at me.

He got up and came toward
me; he took my arm and pulled me.

“Valkyrie, are you all right?
” he asked, looking at me, tormented about my situation.

“
I’m too weak...” I said my voice nearly inaudible.

“Y
ou need blood.” Eros stated, finally looking me into the eyes.

“It’s good I seeing you again”, I stared into his deep gray mysterious eyes.

He
met my eyes for a second, and then looked away quickly toward the wall and saw a rat going up to the ceiling.

He leaped a somersault
and managed to hold the rat with his left hand.

Immediately
he walked closer, his hand extended, offering me his prey.

“
It’s yours” he said, in a sensual voice.

I looked into the hunt
. I being forced to devour a rat, it wasn't in my plans, but I did nearly always everything that Eros suggested to me.

“
A rat?” I asked, my voice faltered at the end.

“That’s not so horrible, is it?
It‘s like eating at a five-star restaurant!”, he complimented.

I held the
rodent and ate it, with aptitude.

I licked my lips
dirtied of blood.

I
still wished more.

“Are you okay
now?” he asked.

“Yes”,
I said, slowly.

“
Sometimes I do that”, he explained. “When there’s really no a suitable prey”

“
I never thought to do that”, I confessed.

“What

”

“I have
eaten a rat.”

“
It was strange from the beginning to me, too”, he explained.

There was dead silence.
It had to trouble us.

“Why are you here?
” I asked, confused.

“Y
ou need to return to Neptune”, he said, hoarsely.

“I don’t come back...
” I said, sharply.

“You’re
in danger, standing there among humans”, he insisted.

I stared toward the sound
from his voice, this time, my face full of worry.

Eros frowned, serious now and said:

“I didn’t come here to protect you.”

“Your father expelled me from Planet Neptune after you walked away.”

Eros was now
staring pensively out the window.

” I shook my head.

I wrinkled my forehead
; I was worried about the situation of Eros.

Why did he do that for?”

ecause he thought you walked away for my sake.”

Eros tilted his head back to look at me.

“Even though it was true... He hasn’t a right to expel you”, I said, furious and annoyed.

“He disagrees the
idea about I don’t satisfy the feeling which you have for me.”

It’s not your fault”, I stared into his gray eyes.

“Your father doesn’t
think like that.” he said.

“I need to talk to him”,
I said, anxious.

Don’t it!” he said, his voice rife with concern.

“He needs to accept you
back to Neptune”, I said.

“I won’t
return to Neptune”, he said, seriously.

“
Where will be you going anyway? Will you live on planet Earth? If you myself told me here’s too dangerous for our kind” I said to him.

I have no place to go.”

“No, Eros... I don’t agree with my father.”

“He won’t hear you! He doesn’t hear anyone” ,Eros said, firmly.

“Neptune
needs you and my father, too”, I declared sweetly.

not?” he just stared into my eyes.

I looked away, staring at the floor

12

The next morning,
when I came down for breakfast, my mother was holding a cup of coffee; I sat down at dining table.

We heard a ringing coming from the door
.

“Who’ll be?”

My mother rose from her chair and walked on to open the door.

When she
opened the door, a policeman was standing at it.

“Good morning,
ma’am!” he said.

“Good morning!
” she said, scowling at me, not knowing what was happening.

was the policeman at her front door?

I stood up and took a step toward my mother
, standing up and holding her shoulder, trying to protect her.

I have warned everyone about a ‘black panther’, he said.

Panther?” my mother asked, startled.

“
Yes, ma’am, someone saw that wild animal in the forest; it probably killed our work’s cronies”, he informed.

I lowered my face

Are you attending school?” he asked me.

” he insisted.

“Okay,
” I finally said.

“Valkyrie, I
drive you to school”, my mother said.

My mother
closed the door.
