Blanche took the front seat of the hearse next to me. Moira, Queenie, and the kids piled in the back.

“Did we really have to take the dead body car?” Queenie asked.

“I told you, Brady has been taking the minivan,” I said.

Blanche shook her head and rubbed her hand on the soft red material against the walls. “This is what we used to always take for Sunday drives. Of course this one is way nicer than that station wagon thing dad used to have.”

I turned off the gravel road and head in the direction of the hand painted sign that reads “Brightside Farms”.

The sun was just beginning to set, casting an orange glow over the cornfields leading up to my parents’ Yurt.

Before they were all the rage for the L.A. set, my parents made their own clay Yurt and it was where I grew up, along with the outdoor kitchen and shower that I remembered freezing in, in the Iowa winter months.

It was why I didn’t mind the tiny house in the back of the funeral home. Well, at first, at least. It was just my parents and I in the Yurt, not a family of six. When the space got that crowded it was a little overwhelming.

My mother popped out of the tent, walking over to my father who was whittling a log into some sort of animal shape.

I parked alongside the outdoor kitchen and let the kids out of the car.

“Luna! Kids!” Mom said and they all went to hug their grandma, before hanging over grandpa and asking questions about his wood carving.

Mom was dressed in her usual long, tie-dye dress with her long gray hair pulled into a tight braid. She took me in her arms, and I took in her familiar scent of patchouli and a lot of sweat.

“You sure this is okay, Ma? To take all of the kids for a few hours?” I reluctantly unwrapped Ole and handed him to Mom, who immediately put him on her hip as I set the diaper bag to her side.

“Of course, my little Moonbeam. You know we love the kids. We have a night planned of singing around the fire, maybe some pottery, and of course black bean quinoa burgers over the campfire tonight!”

I smiled. Grandma Morningwood usually stuffed the kids with gravy and chocolate. I knew it was a better choice for them to come here.

“Okay, Ma. I’ll be back in a few hours.”

“Take your time,” she said, squeezing my hand before I got back in the hearse.

“Your parents still doing the whole hippie thing with the goat farm?” Queenie asked, staring out the window.

“If you consider a sustainable life “hippie” then yes, they are.”

“Okay, before you two start fighting, let’s get to the task at hand,” Blanche said.

I raised an eyebrow. “What task?”

Blanche smiled. “I did a little digging and got Clancy to tell me that Brady has been working on a project with him at the old Hooper farm.”

“Oh please tell me the affair is with Mr. Hooper and I get to see some dick,” Queenie said, putting his hand to his heart.

I rolled my eyes and pull out of my parents’ driveway, heading toward the Hooper farm.

“You and Clancy, huh?” Moira asked.

Blanche gave her a bitchy smirk. “Yes, me and Clancy. You know it’s a huge help to have a man in your life that is around for more than five minutes to get in and out.”

“Blanche,” I growled.

“What? I’m just speaking the truth.”

“It’s fine. It’s whatever,” Moira muttered and looked out the side window.

The car stayed silent with the only sound being the hearse tires crunching on the gravel road. It was only a few miles from my parents’ place to the Hooper farm but it felt like it took years until we slowly crept down the driveway.

The Hooper’s farm had been passed down from generation to generation and now Mrs. Hooper’s youngest son ran the place with his wife and two kids.

They built a bigger, newer, brick place at the front of the property, but the old farmhouse still loomed with the setting sun in the background.

I pulled behind the old water tower and turned off the light.

“Okay, what do we do now?” I whispered, looking around the car.

Queenie shrugged. “I don’t know, honey, this is as far as I got.”

“Look!” Blanche yelled.

I ducked my head and peered through the hole in the steering wheel.

Brady walked onto the front porch with Mr. Hooper following behind him. Brady’s hands were in the back pockets of his Levi’s but he took one out to shake Mr. Hooper’s hand.

“Is that a ‘thanks for the gay sex’ handshake?” Queenie asked.

“Shhh!” I hissed.

Brady and Mr. Hooper exchange a few words that I couldn’t hear and then he got back in the minivan. I thought he was going to head out to the road, but instead he went to the old farmhouse.

I start the car back up and slowly pull out from behind the water tower.

“What are you doing?” Moira asked.

“If there’s another woman in there, I’m going to find out.”

Brady pulled the minivan to the back of the house, so I pulled to the side and waited, watching as he went in and I got a good view of his handsome face, turning on lights and walking through the house.

“So what’s the plan now?” Queenie asked.

Without even thinking, I unbuckled my seat belt and opened the door. Blanche stared to do the same, but I put my hand out and turned toward her.

“No. This is my doing. If he really is in there to meet someone, I want to be the one to find out. You can see everything through the big bay window, so if it looks like I need back up, you guys come running in, okay?”

Blanche swallowed hard. “Are you sure?”

I sighed. “No, but I’ve got to do it.”

With that, I shut the door and marched up the rickety wooden porch steps to the front door. I didn’t even bother knocking and just pushed open the front door. I expected to be assaulted with a moldy scent since the house has been abandoned since Mrs. Hooper got sick a few years ago. Instead, I take in the scent of fresh paint and wood varnish.

Walking into the living room, I noticed that all of the original wooden floors had been stained and the old bricks on the fire place had been replaced, adding a warmth to the room.

Brady finally appeared from a side room, a bucket of paint in one hand. “Luna! What are you doing here?”

I crossed my arms over my chest and approached him, narrowing my eyes. “The better question is, what are you doing here? Fixing up this house for your mistress? Somewhere you can go without me and the kids?”

Brady laughed, shaking his head as he set down the paint can. “Babe, is that what you think? That I’m having an affair?”

“Well, you’re the one who’s been sneaking around.”

He flashed that million-dollar smile and walked toward me, putting his hands on my arms. “I’ve been sneaking around because this was supposed to be a surprise.”

“A surprise that you’re cheating?”

He sighed. “No. I bought this place from Mr. Hooper. He wanted to get rid of it and knew we needed a place that was bigger than the playhouse in my parents’ backyard. Clancy’s been helping me fix it up, and I wasn’t planning on taking you out here until it was close to ready and I got the new bed in, but I guess now is better than ever.”

“New bed?” I asked, barely able to get the words out.

He grinned. “Yeah, I know you’re always looking at that Pottery Barn catalog like it’s porn, so I had Clancy draw up plans so we can make some similar furniture. The first couple I made sucked, but I was able to sell them and get enough money to buy you an actual Pottery Barn bed.”

My eyes welled up with tears and Brady puts his arm around me, pressing me to his chest. “Oh, baby, don’t cry.”

“I’m not crying because I’m sad. I’m happy. The happiest I’ve ever been. This is the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for me.”

He put his fingers under my chin and moved my face so that I met his emerald green eyes. “Even sweeter than the Valentine’s Day I joined the Beaver Falls choir and serenaded you during soccer practice?”

“Even sweeter than you singing Sweet Escape,” I said.

He wiped the tear from underneath my eye, before leaning down and pressing his lips to mine.

When his tongue danced behind my lips, I reciprocated in full force, wrapping my arms around his neck and tugging at his hair.

He moaned into my mouth, a sensation that caused every hair on my body to stand on end. I couldn’t get enough of this man. This man who I’d been in love with since the first moment I met him, fathered my children, and now was creating a home for us.

He lowered his hands to my ass, gripping onto it before he lifted me up.

A low growl came from deep within his throat as his lips trailed from my mouth down to my neck, and sucked on the sensitive skin where my neck met my shoulders.

He walked me back toward the fireplace and set me down, before dropping to his knees in front of me and pulling down my yoga pants. I cursed myself for not dressing up more after soccer practice, but he didn’t seem to mind.

Pulling my panties down, he kissed the two footprint tattoos on each of my hip bones then ran his tongue along my sensitive flesh.

He sucked hard on my clit and I whimpered, bucking my hips forward as he hooked one finger inside of me, continuing his expert movements with his tongue.

I moaned, feeling my body build up to the brink. I thought he was going to stop when he pulled his finger out, but instead he buried his tongue and circled my clit with his thumb, making me come hard on him and my screams echo throughout the room.

Good to know there was good acoustics if we ever formed a family band.

“You’re torturing me,” I whimpered. “If we’re going to do this, fuck me. Please fuck me.”

He finally looked up and stood up, pulling his wallet out of his back pocket then frowned. “Shit.”

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing. I just don’t have a condom, but I can still take care of you.” He puts his hand on my wet mound, and I put my hand on top of his.

“Fuck it. I want you so bad right now that I cant even see straight. So let’s do this,” I said, unhooking his belt then pushing down his jeans and boxers.

He grinned then grabbed me again and lifted me up to the fireplace, pressing my back against the wall as I wrapped my legs around his waist.

I fisted his hair and tilted my head back as he gripped onto my ass and pressed deep inside of me. With each thrust, my whole body shook and I felt the low vibrations of a growl in his throat, as he peppered kisses along my neck and chest.

“Want a view of the brick work?” he whispered.

“What?” I asked.

He moved my legs down and I whimper as he pulls out of me. He licked my lips slowly before he turned me around so I was facing the fireplace wall and ran a finger down the length of my ass. I gripped onto the mantel.

He put his lips to my ear. “I want to fuck you, and have you take in this view of the fireplace in our new home. Ours.”

He put one hand on mine and the other on my mound before he slid into me, thrusting hard and using his thumb to draw small circles on my clit.

“Damn,” I whimpered.

“I’m not going to last much longer. It’s been a while,” he confessed.

I stand straight up, closing my legs so my body tightened around his length. Then I leaned back, gripping his hair with one hand and his hip with the other as I ground my ass into him. That was all it took for us both to come to our climactic end.

We both stood there for a moment, breathing heavily, before I turned around and he crushed his lips to mine.

We kissed for a few more moments, before I looked over his shoulder and caught the moonlight in the open window.

The moonlight glowing off the hearse with the open-mouths of my friends staring in the big bay window.

“I should probably get going. Um. The girls are kind of waiting in the car.”

Brady’s eyes widened. “Did your friends just see my naked ass?”

I smiled, looking at where his jeans and boxers were pulled down to his ankles. Then I squeezed his flawless ass. “Your sister, too.”

He rolled his eyes and pulled out of me, yanking his pants back up and I did the same. “I’m going to get so much shit for this.”

“But it’s worth it.”

He leaned in and kissed me again. “So no more sneaking around and you’re going to trust me? Maybe not get in fights at the soccer field?”

I looked out the window again and saw my friends, laughing amongst themselves in the car then I met Brady’s eyes again. “I can’t promise that one.”

Wet Dreams Do Come True

“What are you girls doing?”

Blanche’s screeching voice invades my quite delicious dream. It was all of Brady’s tight ass that was in perfect view last night. Blanche continues hollering and stomping down the hallway, and that’s when reality hits me and I sit straight up in my bed. The glaring red numbers on my alarm clock is my first sign of my morning going to hell.

It’s nine twenty-five and I was supposed to have the girls at the field fifteen minutes ago. Annie had been begging to have a sleepover with Sadie, and of course it would be the night I had a damn wet dream about Sadie’s uncle’s ass. Leaving the mess behind in the bed, I jump up quickly and grab new panties and my bedazzled jeggings, while jetting for the living room before Blanche busts my balls.

As soon as I swing open the door to my bedroom, Blanche is there ready to bust through.

“Morning, sexy babe.” I run my hands through my hair, which I’m sure it standing up on end.

“Sleep in, much?” She taps her designer knee-high leather boots. Her highlights shine even in the dimly lit hallway, but I don’t dare compliment her on her hair in this moment.

“Just showered and ready to roll.” I offer up a weak ass, totally busted smile.

“Move.” Blanche pushes by me. “Where is he?”

“Who?” I scratch my head completely confused.

“They guy you were just banging.” Blanche throws open the door to my master bathroom and then my walk-in closet. “Seriously, Queenie?”

“I wasn’t with a man. Just slept in a bit and then showered.”

“Really.” She throws her hand on her hip. “Your hair is dry and day old glitter is still on your face.”

“Blanche. Enough. I’m late and you’re just making us later.”

She waltzes over to my bed, and I’m not sure whether it’s my panties she steps in first or the crime scene on the bed that finally puts all the puzzle pieces together.

“Eeewwwww,” she squeals in an ear piercing shrill.

“Your brother’s ass, okay? I blew my load in a wet dream remembering his tight ass from last night.” My hands now perched on my hips with my sassy attitude radiating from me.

“God,” she huffs out and rolls her eyes. “You’re gross. I thought gay men weren’t pigs.”

I laugh out loud at our inside joke and wrap her up in a tight hug. “You love me, Blanchey Boo.”

“You better not have any of your damn baby batter left on you.”

“My baby batter would make you shine, my darling, it’s full glitter.”

“Go.” She pushes off me. “And get a damn shirt on and some shoes, we have to face hell bitch, Moira, and put up with Douchey Doug reffing.”

Blanche marches out of the room, and I hustle to find the rest of my clothing. I worry about that girl and all the damn hatred she holds for people in this town, especially Moira and Doug. It’s not healthy for her or the baby. I’ve seen a sliver of happiness that Clancy has brought into her life and want that more than anything for my best friend.

“Queenie told her she could, momma.”

I hear Sadie’s sweet voice and then Blanche begin to blast back.

“Ladies, ladies, ladies, what in the hell is going on in here?” I toss my hand over my head showing them all my sass is in full action.

“Are you seriously letting Annie do full-on wing tips and blue eye shadow for the game?”

Looking in the mirror, I stand my blond hair up on the ends. “Blanche, it’s her freedom to express herself. It’s the one thing as a parent that I’ll never deny her.”

“Mom, can I do some eye shadow?” Sadie asks with a hopeful tone.

“Denied. Completely denied, sister.” Blanche clutches to her lower belly and winces in pain for a second.

“Bad fart, mom?” Sadie asks with a toothy grin covering her face.

“Yeah,” Blanche only nods.

“Girls, outside. Let’s go.” I wave them out and then wrap my arm around Blanche.

“What’s going on?”

“I don’t know. I never had these pains when pregnant with Sadie.”

“When’s your next doctor appointment or first I mean?”

“In two days.”

“Blanche, you need to go in before that.”

“Okay, Clancy,” she rolls her eyes at me and then waves to the girls to start walking to the soccer field. “I called the office and they said it was nothing to worry about.”

“Better not be, sexy momma, I’m ready to be an auntie again.”

“I’d be lost without you here, Queenie.” Blanche wraps her arm around my waist.

It warms my heart to see Annie with Sadie. They both have their pink bags over their shoulders with their cleats clinking on the sidewalk. Annie isn’t the most competitive one, but has a heart of gold and deserves a best friend in this world other than me.

“Shit,” I blurt out when we are only blocks away from the damn field.

“You forgot the snacks, right?” Blanche pats my shoulder. “Clancy has us covered.”

Now that my heart has completely sunk deep down into my butthole, I exhale a bit. Seeing Luna half a block ahead of us with her spring water and bag of organic fruit reminded me of my complete fuck up. Luna, the snack sergeant, would’ve had my golden balls on a platter.

“And don’t worry, he’s buying Luna approved snacks.” Blanche answers my next question before I even have the chance to ask it.

“I owe you two big time.”

“You can watch Sadie for a bit after the game, so we can play a little horizontal mambo.”

“Grrrooosss.” Just the thought of a vagina makes me physically ill. “I’d love to. I’ll take them out for ice cream.”

“Oh, ice cream or sex. Mmmmm, I’m not sure which sounds better. Sex then ice cream…ahhh the life.”

“Is Clancy’s unit big?”

“A gorgeous and very healthy seven inches,” she brags.

“Fuck, so one nut tango didn’t stunt the growth or anything,” I lick my bottom lip.

“Settle down, tiger, I don’t want you to have a walking wet dream.”

We both erupt into laughter, then realize we’ve caught up to Luna and Moira.
