I look over at
the clock, feeling dazed that I misjudged time for when he was
coming back. I realise Carl is back earlier than he said, but I’m
surprised to see that me and Starlet have been making out for a
whole hour and thirty minutes.

We don’t try to
continue our make out session, because we’re too nervous about Carl
walking in on us again; so we finally watch the movie and
eat.

There’s an
awkward tension at breakfast with Carl the next morning. I know
he’s still embarrassed that he walked in on me and Starlet making
out last night and he’s annoyed at me for letting it
happen.

I’m sorry,” I
apologise, feeling a little guilty. “I know things were a bit weird
last night…”

I’m just not
so happy about her coming around here,” he tells me. “Do you know
how awkward it was walking in on you two?”

I know. I’m
sorry about that. You were working and I thought we’d have the
place to ourselves. She was going to leave before y’ came
back.”

And don’t even
think about doing it on the sofa or anywhere else,” he warns me.
“Stick to your bedroom.”

We weren’t
doing anything last night,” I tell him honestly. “We were just
kissing, I swear.”

Okay, so maybe
I was secretly tempted to have sex with her on the sofa last night,
since our make-out session felt so good. I wasn’t sure whether I
should try last night because I didn’t want Starlet to think I was
trying to take advantage of her. We haven’t really talked about
doing it yet.

And I will
stick to my room, there’s no way you’re walking in on that,” I
add.

Chapter
9

We all have to
attend a team meeting the next morning and I’m totally knackered.
Carl woke me up in the night to ask me to do some emergency hacking
and I didn’t finish until three o’clock in the morning. I just want
to finish sleeping in bed, but I cheer up when I get to see
Starlet.

Carl informs us
all about Snider’s new plans and we get ready to take action. I
want to go work with Starlet, but Carl isn’t letting that happen
and makes me go to boring meetings instead.

When I finally arrive back that evening on my motorbike,
Starlet is waiting outside for me. She’s sitting on the low wall
and looks really hot. I take off my helmet and give her a wink. She
comes over to greet me and I smile, giving her a hug and feeling
tired.

We catch up, discussing
work we’ve done today and then I tell her about an important
mission I’m going on tomorrow night and ask if she wants to help
out.

That’ll be cool,” she
agrees, her eyes shining excitedly.

You’ll need to wear all black, it helps to camouflage when
you’re hiding in the shadows and it makes you harder to spot in the
dark,” I advise her, “and remember your gear, you’re gonna need
it.”

I
remember that Starlet has her dance show tonight, so I
agree to give her a lift on my
motorbike and we arrive just in time for her to start getting ready
backstage.

I
order a drink at the bar a
nd
wait for her to come on. When she does I can’t help staring. She’s
wearing tight designer sweat pants and a crop top, showing off her
slim waist and flat stomach. Her hair has been styled wavy and
she’s wearing more make-up.

I
hear someone wolf whistle at her as she starts the routine and a
few guys are already cheering. I try not to feel jealous because I
want people to like Starlet’s dance shows, but I can’t stand them
ogling her like she’s a stripper, especially when she
isn’t.

I’d definitely bang her,” I hear some older guy comment to
his friend and that’s when I snap.

Hey, that’s my girlfriend
you’re talking about,” I tell him, annoyed.

He just grins, “lucky
you.”

I ignore him and watch the
show, trying to resist the urge to punch anyone who I think is
perving on her too much.

She finishes the last song with a flip into splits and
everyone claps in amazement. I didn’t even know she could do those
sorts of moves and I’m impressed.

She goes off stage and I set off through backstage to see
her. I try to go into the small dressing room that she’s using but
the bar manager stops me.

Where do you think you’re
going?” she asks disapprovingly.

I’m here to see Starlet,” I
tell her. “She’s my girlfriend.”

Sure she is,” she replies,
making it clear she doesn’t believe me. “Starlet isn’t greeting any
fans right now so please go back to the bar.”

If you don’t believe me then ask her,” I say, annoyed at
being treated like some pervy starker.

She rolls her eyes but
knocks on the door just so she can prove her point. Starlet answers
and smiles at me, her make-up washed away now that the show is
over.

This young man here says he’s your
boyfriend
,” the
manager tells her quietly. “Should I call security?”

Starlet can’t help but grin,
“no, it’s fine. This is Rickie, I told him to meet me back here
once I was done.”

I
can’t help but smirk at the disbelief on the bar manager’s
face.

Oh,” she replies, flushing
a little with embarrassment. “Well don’t come wandering back here
again. You need permission from me first.”

Starlet pulls me into the dressing room as the manager
walks away and we both laugh.

You were totally amazing tonight,” I say, putting my hands
around her waist.

Thanks. I was so nervous, especially with the flip at the
end. I was scared I’d get it wrong and fall into the
audience.”

I bet they would have liked
that,” I say, remembering how much all the guys liked
her.

She snuggles up to me and runs her fingers over my chest,
“thanks for coming to watch me. I know how tired you
are.”

It’s cool, I didn’t want to
miss it,” I say and lean in to kiss her.

I
love that she’s still wearing her crop top and my hands explore her
waist as we start to passionately kiss. I lift her up onto the
dressing table and sit her on the edge. Her legs are still hanging
down but I go in between them so our bodies can be close and kiss
her more deeply.

She does that sexy sigh she always does when our kissing
gets too good and that turns me on so much. However, she pulls away
from me a little before I can get even further.

I
should be getting changed,” she says. “Phoebe will need this room
soon.”

I’m disappointed that we had to stop but I can’t help
feeling more excited for the ‘getting changed’ part.

Go outside,” she says,
seeing my grin.

I
reluctantly go out, but as I stand there I can’t help feeling hard
just thinking about what’s happening at the other side of the
door.

Chapter
10

The next
evening, Starlet and I head out for our mission together. She looks
really sexy in a super-agent kind of way, wearing the clothes she
promised to have on. She’s wearing a tight vest top under her
bullet proof jacket, black jeans and black trainers. She hides
inside a black hoodie too, but even in that she looks hot. I just
want to rip off that outfit right now and have sex with
her.

It’s a big
adrenaline rush to go out on a mission; breaking into Snider’s
building and being chased and nearly shot out by his
troops.

Once we get
back to her flat I can’t resist her any longer. I’m all over her,
kissing her passionately and holding her close. We take off our
hoodies and bullet proof jackets and start to kiss again, falling
onto her sofa and continuing our make out session. She’s an amazing
kisser and I can’t get enough of feeling her lips move against
mine.

After a long
kissing session, my lips work down to her neck and I kiss it
gently, loving the smooth feel of her skin. She actually moans a
little, turned on by it, and I kiss her even more before giving her
a love bite. It feels so good to bite and suck at the right side of
her neck, but I try not to make it hurt. I can hear her enjoying it
too, breathing hard, and that makes me want to give her love bites
all over.

She kisses me
passionately once I’ve pulled away from her neck and we stay
entwined together for a while. I stroke her hair and stare into her
eyes, feeling so in love with her. She stares back into mine too,
looking at me like I’m the most special guy in the
world.

I’m about to
make a move but then she starts to say something.

It’s getting
late,” she tells me regrettably and I stop.

We both notice
that’s it’s now two o’clock in the morning and we have to be up in
five hours’ time for work.

I really don’t
want you to go, but we should really be getting some sleep,” she
says sadly.

I sigh in
disappointment, wishing I could stay too, “it’s okay. I guess we do
have to be up early.”

However, right
now I don’t care about work or getting sleep, I just want to be
with her all night long; but instead I grab my hoodie and bullet
proof jacket and head for the door.

We spend
another fifteen minutes at the doorway kissing and hugging goodbye
and I then I walk back to my flat, feeling really happy and teased
at the same time.

Chapter
11

Mick and I have
to work on Saturday night and I’m gutted because it means I’ll miss
Starlet’s dance show. We’re pretty busy and I hope we can get it
all finished so we can finally hit some bars. However, our plans
are soon forgotten when we hear a commotion outside.

Star’s in danger! We need
back-up now!” Bryan shouts.

My heart stops at hearing her name and anxiety rushes
through me at knowing she’s in trouble. I’m confused, wondering
what has happened, because she should be at
Indigo Bar
right
now.

I run over to Bryan,
ditching my work immediately, “Where is she? Are you tracking
her?”

She’
s moving,” he
answers, watching the screen. “It looks like she’s heading for the
city police station so maybe they’ve got her in one of the police
cars.”

I’ll go get her,” I say
determinedly.

Carl must have heard the commotion too and come over,
because he holds me back before I can go.

Rickie, it’s too dangerous to go alone,” he warns me. “Once
she’s at the station they’ll be several police officers there. Plus
this whole thing might be a trap to lure some of us
there.”

I don’t care!” I say
angrily. “If Star needs me then I’m going.”

Carl sighs, “Just be
patient and wait. We’ll make up a plan and get another freedom
fighter to go with you.”

There’s no time!” I insist. “What if Snider kills
her?”

I’ll go with him,” Mick
volunteers, appearing at my side. “We should be fine just two of
us.”

I
don’t wait around for Carl to accept, although I’m sure he’ll be
okay with it. I just run out to the car park to find Mick’s car. He
follows me and jumps into the driver’s seat, clicking his belt on
fast before starting the engine. I don’t even need to give him
directions there. We’ve rescued so many innocent people from the
police station that it’s pretty much routine by now.

Mick parks up in the back alleyway so they won’t see
us.

I’ll go inside and break
her out. I’ll call for back-up if I need it, okay?” I say, unclick
my belt and jump out of the car with my sleeping-dart gun
ready.

I’ll keep the car
running,” he tells me before I slam the door shut.

I rush over to the
building, climb up the fire escape and kick through a window on the
second floor. The glass shatters to the floor and as I climb in a
few police officers have been alerted and look towards me. I shoot
some with the sleeping darts and then fight two until they’re
unconscious on the floor with the rest.

I
scan the prison doors to see which one she might be in and notice
that luckily there is only one that is closed and locked. I get to
work, picking the lock until it clicks open.

I
look inside to see Starlet staring up at me in surprise, sat on the
floor with her back against the wall.

Rickie!”
she jumps up
and rushes over.

I
put my arms around her and hold her close, feeling relieved that
she’s safe and unharmed.

You shouldn’t be here,” she says, sounding worried as she
buries her head into my chest. “Snider wanted to keep me here so
he’d hopefully catch you and the others.”

I know,” I reassure her, “but there’s no way I could let
them kill you, Star. I had to come and rescue you.”
