“Aight, let’s go.” He said parking.
“Naw, baby, you chill here. I’m going in myself.”
With the car in park he looked over at her and said, “I just told you this nigga be wilding out. And you trying to go in by yourself?”
“Please, X. Let me do this. If I need you I’ll holla.” He hit the steering wheel and looked out the driver’s window. She put her hand over his. “I promise. I’m gonna be okay.”
He smiled on one side of his mouth. “I know you gonna be good. When I met you, you were fighting.” He smirked and gripped her hand. “I see you getting more independent by the day too.”
“I can’t be a baby no more, Xi. My mother and sister are missing. I really may be on my own out here.”
“No you not. How you on your own when you got me?” “I hope you mean that.”
“I do, Jayden. And I know you got to handle your family affairs by yourself,” he paused, “for whatever reason. But I’m still here and I got your back. So don’t tell me you out here on your own when you not.”
“I’ll hurry back.” She opened the truck door.
Xion wasn’t feeling letting her roll by herself but he didn’t push the issue. Besides he wasn’t her man although he was trying to be. He saw the strong woman she was becoming and crowding her too much could be bad for his ultimate plan of making her his girl. He’d seen first hand where that got Shaggy. Nowhere.
Jayden walked slowly up to Coop’s door. Her palms sweated and she wiped her hands several times on her jeans to dry them off. After taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door. Coop flung it open and gave her an evil look.
“You lost?”
“No.”
“Then what the fuck you want?” He asked. His stomach rose and fell and his goatee although neat had cat hairs all throughout it and she wondered how they got there. He was twenty-five years old, cute but at the moment extremely angry. Still, Jayden could immediately see why Passion went for him. He was a bad boy, a nigga who always got what he wanted and if he didn’t get his way people suffered. Everything in Jayden’s young body said run but she decided not to because there was no way she could go back home to Harmony. In her mind, it all came down to this moment.
“I said what the fuck do you want?” He looked her up and down.
“I’m here to see Passion. Can you tell her I’m out here please?” She paused, her feet moved nervously under her body. “Uh…we…we got…some stuff to do today.”
“Some stuff to do today?” He said sarcastically.
“Yes.”
“Well she got other plans tonight.”
“I can’t go until I speak to her.”
“Bitch, get the fuck off my steps.” He said slamming the door in her face.
Jayden took a step back and looked at Xion’s car.
“What happen?” He said with a screw face from the car. Then he cocked his gun. She didn’t see it but she could hear it. Every neighbor who was near looked at what would happen next. “That nigga disrespect you?”
“I got it, baby.” She waved him off. Then she pointed at everybody. “Stay in the car and be cool. A lot of people watching.”
A few of them stopped looking in her direction and pretended to care for their lawns and other fake shit after hearing her comment. But some folks didn’t give a fuck and kept their eyes on the house.
“I don’t know about this shit, babes. Just come on.”
“Please, Xi! One second.”
She turned around focused on the door again and with all of her might, banged heavily on it. Everyday she gave herself tests, to be stronger and harder. The old Jayden was still inside of her and told her she was a fool for even trying to run a sex operation but in her mind she couldn’t see herself doing anything else. She knew what she wanted to do the moment she laid eyes on Pimp Fast Tony, especially after years later, when she learned what he actually sold.
When Coop didn’t come back to the door she knocked even harder, until it sounded as if she was about to kick his door down.
Hearing the sound of his door rattling as if it was about to come off of the hinges, he threw the door open.
“Don’t fucking slam the door in my face again, nigga.” She said before he could say anything.
“What you just say to me?” He was shocked at her response.
“You heard me!” She paused. “Now you got my bitch in your house, while she’s in your house, I can’t make my money. I put a lot of money into her ass, and that’s why she look the way she do to you. Now either give me the five hundred dollars I spent on that bitch, or tell her to get her shit and come on, because I’m not leaving without one or the other.”
He laughed and said, “What are you, her fucking pimp or something?”
Jayden stood her ground. “Go get her!”
He knew he could choke her in one instant, but looked at all of the witnesses who were staring in his direction. In his mind none of this would’ve happened if Passion hadn’t popped up over his house while he was fucking another bitch. The girl left after Passion threatened to bust the windows of her brand new Benz. Coop tried to get Passion to leave until she threw his yellow cat in his face and it scratched him on the mouth. When she did that shit hit the fan and they’d been fighting ever since.
“You know what,” he said looking at his neighbors on the left and then the right, “you can take this bitch with you because I’m tired of her shit anyway.”
He was preparing to slam the door in her face again before she blocked it from closing with her foot. “Leave the door open.”
He looked at her, smirked and walked into the house.
A minute later Passion came outside rattled. Her long hair was all over her head and her face was bruised. The blue t-shirt she was wearing was ripped and when she saw the neighbors looking at her she tugged at the black mini skirt she was wearing so that no one could see she wasn’t wearing any panties. She came over panty-less in the hopes of seducing Coop but her plan was foiled and instead of dick she got her ass whooped.
Jayden wondered how much money she’d have to reinvest to get this bitch up to par again. She was still sexy and pretty, but she looked abused.
“What are you doing here?” Passion said looking behind her worried he’d snatch her up at any moment. “Now he’s gonna really be mad.”
“Passion, get your shit and come on. That nigga passed mad a long time ago.”
“Girl, he be like this all the time.”
Jayden shook her head. “Passion, I got a client set up for you tonight and you can’t be fucking with my money.”
“But I can’t do it tonight!” She said looking at her seriously. “I caught him cheating on me girl. Shit got out of hand.”
“I don’t give a fuck about all that! You agreed to do the job now it’s time to make money.”
She pouted and folded her arms. “You came all the way over here to tell me that?”
“Yes! And you’re my friend and I care about you. You don’t need to be messing with him, girl.” She paused. “You said yourself he had another bitch in the house. I mean, how much proof do you need?”
When she called her a friend Passion’s heart lightened up. She saw Jayden as someone who was fly and had it all. Always. That’s because recently Jayden developed a habit of lying. She told everyone who would listen how wonderful her mother was and how close she and her sister were. But whenever Passion wanted to meet them, she’d make an excuse. Truth was she was ashamed of Harmony and Madjesty and wanted to keep her new friends/whores out of her personal life as much as possible.
“I’m your friend?” Passion asked.
“Yes. But we also got business together. You don’t need to be around this type of dude, Passion. We gotta go. Now!” She said grabbing her hand pulling her toward the truck.
Passion shook her off. “I’m sick of you acting like I’m property, Jay. I mean, damn, you taking stuff too seriously with all of this Thirteen Flavors shit.” She paused. “I was just trying to make a little money so I can get some clothes and get high. I ain’t trying to be fucking for the rest of my life.”
“You so fucking pressed over these niggas! When you gonna understand they just playing you? The least you could do is make some money if you gonna give the pussy away.”
Passion placed her hands on her hips and smirked. “What you know about fucking niggas? They telling me you still a virgin.”
Jayden knew her virgin status made her look inexperienced but she wasn’t going to fuck before she was ready and that was the bottom line.
“And that makes your point how?”
“What you mean?”
“I haven’t had to fuck a nigga ever. Yet I got more paper than you?”
“Whatever.”
“Bitch, look at your fucking arm.” Passion did. “You wearing the gold bracelet I bought.” Jayden frowned. “Now bring that ass on now. Because contrary to what you believe, that pussy belongs to me.”
“What you just say?”
“I said bring your ass on. Because there ain’t but one pussy that can be in charge at a time and it damn sure ain’t yours!” Words just flowed from her mouth as if she was her mother and it shocked her at first. But when she took a few steps away from the house and Passion wasn’t following her she got serious. “If I reach the car and you not behind me I’ma tell Xion. Then he gonna get his heat, get out that car, and put that bird in your mouth. Let’s go. Now.”
“You really do got more than one personality.”
“What?”
“They told me you have split personalities, and now I’m starting to see that.”
“Fuck all that. It’s time to roll.”
Passion hesitated one second before dipping out of the door and behind Jayden. Besides, Jayden was right and Passion knew it. The niggas she fucked most of time didn’t give her shit but dick. Passion was tired of being used, she wanted more out of life and Jayden could give that to her. She wanted to have fun and she wanted to be taken care of and thanks to Jayden she had jewelry, kept a fresh hairdo, fly clothes and a steady supply of any drug she wanted. If Jayden cut her off now she knew she couldn’t keep the lifestyle she was use to since she entered her life. They were almost at the car when Coop ran outside.
“Bitch, where the fuck is my money?”
Passion stuffed it in her bra earlier but didn’t think he would notice right away. Passion and Jayden ran to the car but he caught Passion and grabbed a large patch of her hair.
“Get the fuck off of me!” She yelled hitting him on his arms, her punches bouncing off as if they were never there to begin with. “You’re hurting me!” Her body dragged against the ground as if she was a lifeless doll.
“You gonna come in here, start shit and then steal my money? Fuck that!” Coop said pulling her toward the house as quickly as humanly possible.
“Let’s go, Jayden!” Xion yelled. “Don’t make me get out of the car. I’m not coming alone.”
“One second!”
Coop almost had Passion inside of his house until Jayden caught wheels and ran in their direction. She wasn’t a fighter by nature but she turned into one when necessary.
Right before Coop slammed the front door, Jayden pushed it open using her body weight and Xion hopped out of the car to help them out. When Coop saw Xion rushing in his direction, he pushed Passion inside and grabbed Jayden. Once he had both of them, he slammed the door in Xion’s face and locked it.
“OPEN THIS DOOR, NIGGA!” Xion banged with a closed fist. “OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR RIGHT NOW!” The gun rested in his waist and he was waiting for the perfect time to pull it out and start busting.
Inside the house Coop had knocked Passion to the floor. With his attention off of her he grabbed a handful of Jayden’s hair before hitting her in the face with a closed fist. She held on to her face and tried to fight him back. She was no match for the man’s brute strength and it wasn’t until Passion got off of her ass and helped out that together they were able to overcome him. Having been beat in the past by her mother Jayden made up in her mind to go the distance.
The young girls hit him everywhere blows would land and although he wasn’t hurt much, it was difficult to control two teenage wild women.
Sirens rang in the background and it was obvious the police were on their way.
“I’ma kill you bitches!” He yelled.
Hearing this, Passion grabbed his vase off of the counter, and smacked him in the head with it. She cut herself in the process. When he fell to the floor she and Jayden ran out of the house and into Xion who was about to kick down the door.
“Ya’ll okay?” He asked looking behind them into the house. He grabbed Jayden and checked her over. The sirens were getting closer. “This nigga hit you in the face?”
“It’s okay, baby,” Jayden said trying to catch her breath. “I’m fine.” She looked behind her hoping Coop wouldn’t run out at any moment. “But let’s get the fuck out of here. The cops are coming.”
Xion was preparing to ignore her and go into the house anyway. “I’m bout to go crush this…”
“Please, let’s just go!” Jayden said grabbing his hand pulling him to the car.
“I feel like killing this dude.”
“And if you really want to you can handle that later,” Jayden said. “For now I’m trying to get home. I got some business to handle and the more time I’m here, the more time my money is being fucked with.”
Xion reluctantly ran to his truck with the girls following him. It was silent for fifteen minutes as they approached Jayden’s house. “I’m sorry, Jayden.” Passion said breaking silence.
“Prove how sorry you are by doing what you gotta do.” Jayden looked over at Xion hoping he wouldn’t catch on. “Because that shit back there is gonna cost you.”
“I know, mami. I’ma make it up to you too.”
Jayden loved it when she called her mami.
