He didn’t make me wait long and the sexy gleam in his eyes promised me he was worth it. Jag poured us a glass of champagne that he pilfered from the reception which we drank while eating cake that he helped himself to also.
Just how long were we in that closet?
We missed the cake cutting ceremony and the final send off to the grooms.

I hit a button on my remote to play a cd and Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” began to play. I held out my hand to Jag and said, “Dance with me.”

It was the first time I actually danced with another man. I didn’t come out to my family until I was in college, so my senior prom date was a girl who happened to be a very good friend. I never attended any dances in college and hadn’t really come across an occasion to dance with another man and probably wouldn’t have anyway. Dancing was personal and intimate, which were the exact opposite types of encounters I wanted until I met Jag. It only seemed fitting that my first dance was with the first guy I loved.

It was a moment that I knew I’d never forget for as long as I lived. It was obvious that Jag cared for me on some level and enjoyed what we had built together, but did he love me? There was only one way to find out, I just needed to dig up the courage to ask him. I decided not to ask him that night, because I didn’t want anything to ruin the most perfect evening I’d ever had. I wanted to wait for the right moment when I wasn’t feeling so emotional and hope that it wasn’t the same time he decided to end our relationship.

I DIDN’T WANT
to go to Chase and Gray’s Fourth of July party. I was tired of pretending that Miller wasn’t someone very special to me. The disappointed pout I couldn’t seem to wipe off my face was going to be mistaken for pining after Chase. The only way people, especially Gray, would get over that notion was for them to realize that I had moved on and had feelings for someone else. Chase insisted that I come to the party and everyone knew that I was prone to give in to him.

The only thing that finally got me motivated to attend was the idea of being around Miller while he wore swim trunks and the possibility of a secret touch or a stolen kiss. The image of our bodies brushing up against each other in the pool sent licks of fire straight to my balls. Hell, we’d had each other in every conceivable way so I was surprised that I was reacting so intensely to relatively innocent foreplay.

I arrived before most of the guests and greeted the newlyweds affectionately. Gray was still giving me narrow-eyed looks, but we were making progress. It helped that I always brought Oliver a little treat or toy when I showed up. I was turning out to be his favorite uncle.

“How are your kitties doing?” Gray asked in attempt to make small talk.

“They’ve brought a lot of happiness to my life. Their playfulness takes the stress right out of my day.” I felt myself turning a little pink over my kitty love confession.

Gray raised both eyebrows in surprise at the same time a smile split his face; the first genuine smile he had ever given me. “Damn, Bruce, you might actually be a nice guy beneath that hard ass exterior.”

I leaned closer because my words were for him only. “Don’t go telling people that I’m nice, Clark, or I’ll bring kryptonite to your next party.” Gray laughed at my empty threat and slapped me on the shoulder.

“Are you any good at volleyball? I’m not going to go easy on Chase just because he’s my husband now.” Gray asked just as quietly. “I’m trying to build a kick ass team while he’s busy playing host.”

“I’m almost six and a half feet tall so I make a good blocker up front.” I thought their competitiveness was really cute and I suspected, like everyone else did, that it was a source of foreplay for them. I was torn about wanting to be on Miller’s same team to sneak in a few touches or play against him and use the intensity as a build up to fabulous sex between us.

“I’m putting you on my team,” Gray said before he moved on to greet his next guest.

Miller came straight to me when he arrived, shocking the hell out of me. I was lounging in a chaise by the pool and he stood right beside me. “You look good enough to eat,” he said low enough for my ears only. I had already stripped down to just my trunks so that I could soak up some sunshine. “Make them go away so I can climb on your lap and grind against you.”

His words heated me in places the sun wasn’t reaching and I found myself responding to his nearness. If he kept it up much longer I’d need to jump in the pool to cool off and hide an erection. The smug smile he wore on his face told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me and liked every second of it. Yeah, well two could play that game.

I looked around to make sure no one could overhear my words because there would be no doubt in their mind about the kind of relationship I had with Miller. “Mmmm, I can almost feel your skin all slick with tanning lotion as you slide against me while you ride my cock. Your cock would grind against my stomach and leave behind a slick trail of its own.”

“Jag.”

I couldn’t see Miller’s beautiful blue eyes because they were hidden beneath his sunglasses, but I had no doubt that his pupils were enlarged from excitement. Gray had his form of foreplay and I had mine. I let my eyes travel down the length of his body, but his t-shirt came down far enough to hide any physical reactions that he might’ve had to my words. That was when I noticed the dinosaurs all over his trunks.

“Bones, I’m digging your shorts.” My intended pun earned me a sweet smile from him, which eased the sexual tension between us. “I can’t wait to see them around your ankles later.” Miller’s mouth opened and closed silently a few times as if he wanted to say something, but his mouth was too dry to speak.

“Hey you two, we’re picking teams now,” Gray hollered to us from the other side of the pool. He didn’t let on if he suspected something was going on between us.

“Come on, Bones. If we end up on separate teams, then the winner gets to top tonight.” In all honestly, I loved to bottom for Miller, but it was fun to tease about who got to top who.

“You’re on.” Miller’s face lit up over the challenge I had thrown down.

Miller and I stood together and waited for everyone else to gather around. It was then that I noticed the cute bartender, Liam, from Bottoms Up came to the party too. I recalled the time I tried to pick him up, but got warned off verbally by Chase followed by the death glare from the bar owner, Jack. I had no doubt that Jack would rearrange my face for me if I took one step in Liam’s direction.

Liam stood sort of off to the side as if he didn’t feel a hundred percent comfortable or welcome and it was a feeling I understood. There was something else about him that grabbed my attention, but I couldn’t place what. It wasn’t his looks, although he was a hottie. There was something familiar about him as if I should recognize him from somewhere, but didn’t.

“Try not to strain yourself, darling.” Miller sneered quietly in my ear. He mistook my interest for something other than what it was.

“I don’t want him, Bones. There’s something familiar about him. I know him from somewhere and I can’t figure out where.”

“Mmm hmmm. It was probably just another bathroom stall hookup at the bar.” Although I didn’t like the implication that I was slutty, I loved the jealous tone of his voice. I could almost imagine him turning green like the Grinch.

“I’ve never had sex with that guy and I gave up bathroom hookups years ago. That’s just unsanitary and gross.” I told him the truth and that would have to be enough for him. I wasn’t going to apologize for my past just as I didn’t expect him to either. “I’m telling you I know him from somewhere and it’s making me nuts.”

Ben looked over at us as we studied Liam and gave us a look that would’ve made Jack very proud. Miller and I both threw up our hands in surrender and turned our focus back to one another before everyone got the wrong idea about our interest in Liam.

“I love your nuts,” Miller said, effectively diverting my attention. The guy was cruising for a hard fucking. He gave me a playful wink that let me know driving me insane with lust was part of his strategy to beat me at water sports.

Picking teams turned out to be a hilarious battle with both of the grooms protesting the other’s choices so someone wisely recommended we all draw straws – red straws on one team and blue on the other. Gray and Chase picked straws first out of the paper bag and we all collectively groaned when Gray chose a red straw and Chase drew a blue straw. I smiled when I chose a blue straw and Miller chose a red. I’m sure people thought I was smiling because I was on Chase’s team, but that wasn’t it at all.

Xavier and Ben also ended up on my team and those lovebirds took every opportunity to touch and kiss. I was happy to see that they had worked out their differences from the night of the charity event. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of Ben’s mother trying to fix us up. I knew that Ben was in love with Xavier the moment I saw them dance together at Chase and Gray’s wedding. My suspicion was confirmed when Miller and Xavier showed up separately, but together at the charity dinner. Gray and Chase asked them to attend in their place since they were still on their honeymoon. I knew that it wasn’t really a date, because Miller had told me about it before they went.

It was still painful to see them talking and laughing together that night. Ben made a snarky comment to me about me pining after Chase at his own fucking wedding and I retaliated like a spoiled brat that he better be more concerned about Miller moving in on his guy. After all, Miller always got his way. Needless to say, Ben was pissed and made a speedy exit with Xavier following soon after once he learned that Ben had been there and had seen him with Miller.

Looking at them right then, you’d never know that they had been on the verge of calling it quits. A few months ago I would’ve been jealous that they found a love like that and played it off as being disgusted. Revulsion and teasing was expected from me so that’s what I gave the crowd. Miller joined in from the other side of the net for the same reason. We got the reactions from the crowd that we expected.

“You two idiots will fall the hardest,” Gram said from her lounge chair beneath an oversized rainbow umbrella.

“Every rake has his day,” Ava added.

The remarks went on and on and on with Miller and I reacting as expected. I couldn’t imagine what they would think if they knew that Miller and I had been together for nearly ten months. We had been seeing each other exclusively for six months, but it had been only Miller for me since the first time we had sex more than three months prior to our arrangement. Miller wasn’t ready for them to know so I’d respect his feelings, even at the expense of my own. I loved him and could only hope that one day he would love me in return. I wanted to be the one who made him fall the hardest. I knew he had genuine affection for me, but was that love?

I shoved those thoughts aside to focus on the matches. Truthfully, that line of questioning led me to feelings of self-doubt and sadness. I had worked too hard to get away from the sadness and I didn’t want to go back. What I needed to do was come to terms with the fact that happiness could still exist for me if Miller and I were to end our relationship. I wasn’t to that place yet and chose to live in denial for a little while longer and focus on something positive like kicking some volleyball ass.

Our blue team won the best of three matches in volleyball, but got our asses kicked in water polo. Miller gave me a private look that said my ass was his for the taking. My ass puckered in excitement and I wondered how much longer we had to stick around before we could go home and fuck like wild animals. I just knew I’d be wearing his teeth marks on my skin for days after he got ahold of me.

The food was almost finished, but I was hungry for something different. I saw Miller pick up his bag with clothes to change into and a wicked part of me decided that I couldn’t wait any longer to feel him inside of me. The smile he wore on his face when he saw me get up with my bag to follow told me that he felt the same way.

I crowded him into the small half bath on the main floor and closed the door behind us. His mouth was on mine the second he heard the lock engage. Our hands went into immediate action and began stripping the wet shorts off of each other.
