Read O' for the love of Shakespeare Online
Authors: Brooke St Pier
I lean back in my chair and close my eyes
allowing myself to have some very nice sex flashbacks from last night with Ben.
My phone bleeps, I open my eyes hoping it is Ben.
“Hi gorgeous can’t wait for you to get back.
Pick you up at 8? Can’t wait to hear all about your holiday x.” It’s Vic not
Ben. I try to ignore the disappointment.
I type a response knowing I will never be able
to explain what really happened on this holiday even to my best friend. It is
odd but I am now thankful that I went on this adventure by myself. “Perfect,
me too. On the train now. See you at 8. J x”
This will be my Act, my Scene, my life.
‘
Why, then the world's mine oyster, Which I with sword
will open
.’ The Merry Wives of Windsor
Jane exits the stage.
‘
If this be error and
upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.’ Sonnet 116.
Thank you to my husband Rob, who without your love and
support this book would not exist.
Thank you to all my family who never let me give up but
especially to my big brother Adam for always believing me, even when I did
not. For Dad, whose passion and love for books ignited the same in me.
A huge thanks to all my friends who helped with feedback,
but especially to Lucy “the guru” for tirelessly reading version after version.
And thank you, too, for reading.
