And then he noticed something on the side of
the neck of the agent seated next to him.

At first he thought it was a scar, but it wasn’t.

It was a tattoo.

A tattoo?

On an active-duty FBI
agent?

Reno had been called in
for questioning by more FBI agents than he would ever be able to count, but not
one of them had ever had a visible tattoo.

Not one.

And then they made the wrong turn.

He had assumed they would take him to the
police station, since there was no FBI field office in Crane.

But they didn’t.

They were taking him in the exact opposite
direction of the station.

Reno started
to ask where they were taking him, but his instinct told him to keep it
shut.

These men weren’t agents, but
assassins.

A hit was going down.

And he was the target.

After showering and drying off in the
bathroom, Trina headed into the bedroom to put on some clothes.

The first thing she noticed was that the
bedroom door was wide open, when she had not only closed it before she got in
the shower, but she had locked it, too.

The second thing she noticed was Sully.

He was standing by the bed, lifting his shirt over his head.

“What are you doing?” she asked, amazed.

“I’m about to do what I’ve wanted to do since
the moment I met you,” Sully said, stepping out of his shoes.

Trina frowned.

What was he talking about?

“I’m about to make love to you, Katrina.
Long, hot, passionate love.”

Trina’s heart began to pound.

“You must be joking,” she said, although she
knew he was serious.

Somehow she knew
it.

“Reno will be back any minute
now.

He called while I was in the
shower.”

Sully smiled.

“I seriously doubt that,” he said.

“Reno won’t be coming back to any earthly place ever again.”

Trina’s heart dropped.

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about Reno, my love.

He’s what we call around here a goner.”

Trina stared at him.

“A what?”

“Those men are hired guns.

Hired by me.

You see, I thought I could get you to see the
light.

I kept trying to get you to see
the error of your ways.

You were in
love, you understand, with the wrong man.

Reno Gabrini is a thug.
Pure and simple.

He’s a rich, arrogant, bully of a thug.

What would you want with that clown when you
could have a real
man.

Like me,” Sully said with a smile that Trina used to find so
charming.

Now it repulsed her.

“But you wouldn’t see the light.

So what I had to do, my love, is snuffed out
that light. Snuff it out.

So I hired
those two men to take your beloved somewhere special and kill his ass.” Sully
laughed.

“And it went off without a
hitch.”

Trina’s heart began to pound.

She had to find Reno.

She had to warn him.

She had to notify the police to find her
husband.

She ran for the bedroom door.

Sully could outclass her long distance, but
she was a far faster short distance runner than he ever was.

And she was relying on that speed.

But Sully had something more going for
him.

He was the element of surprise, not
her, and there was no way his horny ass was about to let that prized dark meat
get away from him.

He took off, too, and
cut her off at the pass.

Then he slung
her onto the bed, her big breasts bouncing from the fall, and, to make her
understand who had the power in this relationship, slapped her violently across
the face.

“And now, my love,” he said, breathing
heavily, “you may as well lay back, relax, and enjoy this beautiful sex I’m
about to lay on you.”

Trina didn’t lay back, relax, or enjoy
anything.

She started screaming her head
off and kicked Sully, hard as she could, in the groin.

As he bent over, she jumped up to run again.

But he grabbed her again and slung her onto
the bed.

“You black bitch!” he yelled,
his penis throbbing for a very different reason this time.

And he balled up his hand, slung open her
long, gorgeous, unblemished legs, and slammed his fist into her vagina.

Trina screamed in pain.

It was a safe house.

Reno knew them like the back of his
hand.

It was in the woods, off the road,
not another house for miles.

Dark, dingy, and isolated.

But Reno planned to use those very characteristics for his purpose.

These yahoo hit men wannabes were rank
amateurs, compared to Reno.

They thought he had no clue.

They thought he was still buying the line
that they were g-men taking him in to question him.

“Safe house, gentlemen?” he asked as they let
him out of the car.

“That’s right,” the agent opening the door
replied.

He and the other agent smiled
at each other.

But as soon as the agent walked him around to
the second agent, both apparently convinced they had this aging mobster snowed,
Reno went to work.

He had been eyeing
the gun all along.

It was on his right
side.

He had another one, undoubtedly,
on his person, so Reno knew whatever he
did,
he had to
make it matter.

As they walked Reno toward the front door, he
made a point of positioning himself to the agent’s right.

They didn’t strong arm him, because they
still wanted him to believe he was just going in for questioning, and Reno used
that to his advantage, too.

Because as
soon as they turned him to where he was on the right side of the agent, he
reached in quickly and grabbed the gun.

Just as the agent realized his pocket had been picked, and was about to
react, Reno put the gun to the agent’s head.

The other agent grabbed for his own gun, and was deft about it, too, but
Reno fired, hitting him between the eyes.

The man fell backwards.

Dead.

The other agent gave up.

He lifted his hands in the air.

“Who hired you?” Reno asked him.

“I’m with the---”

“You have three seconds,” Reno said, “and I
don’t bluff.

Who hired you?”

“He did.

The man.

Chambliss.”

Reno stared at the agent.

“Chambliss?

Sullivan Chambliss?”

“Right.

He hired us.”

“To kill me?”

“And bury your body back here.

Yes.”

Reno frowned.

What the fuck
?

Then Reno thought about misdirection
again.

About
predictability.

About people always looking to fuck around with him.

But what would Sully have to do with mob
killings?

Then Reno realized that Sully had nothing to
do with those killings.

Because Sully
never created the situation, but he always managed to manipulate and take
advantage of the situation.

He was never
the groom, but was always the best friend.

The man next door.

The opportunist.

He wanted Tree.

And all of that mob distraction gave him the
opportunity to have her.

Reno hurried to the car.

He had to get to Tree.

But then he realized where he was, and
realized his error.

He quickly turned
around.

Just as he did, the agent was
pulling out his second revolver and aiming it at Reno.

Reno dropped to the ground, but not before
firing first, hitting the agent in the heart.

The agent’s gun went flying one way, and his body dropped the opposite
way.

And he was dead, too.

Reno jumped in the car, realized the keys
weren’t in the ignition, jumped back out, grabbed them off of the driver, and
hurried back in.

He backed out at high
speed, swerved around, kicking up dirt as he did, and then took off along the
dark, isolated road.

She was in spread eagle formation.

One wrist tied to one side of the headboard,
the other wrist tied to the other side.

Her legs, as wide open as they could get, were tied too, each to the
footboard.

And Sully, his pants
unbuckled but still on, was lying on the big bed, his head between her legs,
eating her cunt.

“I love this,” he said, as his tongue licked
her, and as his mouth
slavered
her.

Trina’s mouth was taped, but her eyes were
wide open.

A singular tear was rolling
down.

But her pain was less about what
he was doing to her, than about what those men, those fake agents, were doing
to Reno.

Sully’s rape, on the other hand, angered
her.

She had taken him to be her closest
friend in Crane.

She had taken him to be
her confidante.

Now he was raping
her?

He was taking what he knew belonged
to Reno?

She was angry.

She wanted to kick his ass.

But then she thought about Reno, and what
they were doing to him, and the fight sailed away from her.

“I love this,” Sully was saying as he mouth
fucked

her
.

“I knew I would love this.

From the moment I saw you, baby, I knew I
would love eating every inch of your pussy.

And I love it.

I love it.”

Trina was so repulsed by his words that her
fight returned.

And she continued to try
to break free.

She continued to fight
against the tight ropes even as she drew blood on her wrists.

Until Sully stood up.

And began to unzip his
pants.

He was about to perform
his ultimate violation of her body, and her heart sank.

Reno stopped the car three doors down, jumped
out, and ran toward his house.

He didn’t
try to phone Tree, or do anything that would ruin the element of surprise.

Sully thought he was dead in the woods
somewhere.

Sully thought it was a done
deal.

And that was exactly what he
needed Sully to think.

But as Reno ran across the lawn toward the
back of his house, he realized just how tired of being terrified he was.

These fuckers kept coming after his loved
ones, and now they had him scared of his own shadow.

And he was tired of it.

sick
and tired.

If these fuckers wanted to fuck with him, he
decided as he made his way into the backyard, then he was no longer running
scared, or apologizing, or feeling in any way guilty for the shit they kept
bringing down on him.

And
on his son.

And now, he thought
in horror, on his wife.

Bring it on, motherfuckers
!
he
wanted to scream.

Reno Gabrini wasn’t running
anymore
!

Sully, however, was completely oblivious to
Reno’s rage.

He unzipped his pants and
removed his pants, along with his briefs.

Now he was naked, already completely aroused, and ready to enter his
African queen.

He got back between her legs, licked on her
some more, and then he
looked

up
.

“We’re going to enjoy this so much, Tree,” he
said.

“We’re going to enjoy this so
much!”
