“Is everything okay?” she asked.

“He’s an interesting man,” Cade said. “But he seems honest, and he does care for you. More than I realized.”

“I told you he was good to me. He wants me to be happy. He knows I can have everything I’ve ever dreamed of with you. In all the time I spent with him, I never withheld how I felt about you.”

He walked to where she was standing and took her hand. “I can’t be who you need.”

She felt nauseous and then lightheaded. One minute they were standing by the window and the next thing she knew she was in his arms and they were on the couch.

“Gracie? Baby, are you okay?” She heard the panic in his voice.

She nodded.

“What happened? You looked like you were going to pass out.”

“I’m fine, but I think I need to be alone.” She tried to sit up but he held her still. “Can you please leave?”

“I’m not going anywhere.”

“Cade, I don’t want to play anymore. If this isn’t the life you want and I’m not the girl you need, then let me go. There’s no sense in trying to make something work that can’t. I tried to make you into someone you didn’t want to be because I thought I knew better. I’m sorry.” Her heart ached, her stomach hurt, and she wasn’t entirely sure she wasn’t going to throw up all over him. “It was wrong for me to come back here and try to lure you into a lifestyle you clearly aren’t interested in.”

“Are you finished?”

“Yeah.” She sat up. “I think I am.” She couldn’t do this anymore.

“Good, because now I need you to be quiet and listen to what I have to say.”

“Cade, really, it’s not necessary.” Being dumped by him once was more than enough for one lifetime. She wanted him to go so she could figure out a way to move on.

“That wasn’t a request.” He pressed his fingers to her lips. “Now shut it and let me speak.”

She opened her mouth but one fierce look from him told her she wasn’t going to win. She’d let him have his say and then she could put him behind her. They could both move on and say they gave it the best try they could.

“As I started to say before you went all wobbly on me, I can’t be who you need without some guidance.”

“You want Martin’s help?” She hoped she wasn’t misinterpreting what he was saying.

“I think I might, but it has to be on my terms.” He stopped to think for a few seconds. “He doesn’t come in the bedroom with us, and he doesn’t touch you. I can’t allow that.”

“I understand.” She felt excited over the prospect of Cade learning from a true master. Martin would teach Cade everything he needed to know. Martin could show Cade exactly what he was capable of. “He would never overstep.”

“I’m still not sure I’ll ever be the Dom he is.”

“I don’t expect you to be.”

“I’m sorry for being a jerk and saying the things I said the other day. It was wrong of me to try and dictate your relationship with a man you clearly love and respect. I don’t want to control your whole life, sweetheart. I never want to break your spirit.”

“You wouldn’t do that to me. I should have been up-front about Martin. I should have realized you’d have issues with him still taking care of me. Everything happened so fast between us. It was confusing. I’ve been under Martin’s care for two years.”

“I’ve done some thinking in the past few days. I’ve also researched some of the emotional consequences a submissive can experience after losing her Dom. I can’t ask you to just drop him. You shouldn’t have to.”

“Just because I still want him in my life doesn’t mean I want him to dominate me. But he’s a part of who I am and he’s a really good friend. I hope you can accept that.”

He nodded. “I do accept it, but I have to admit that I feel somewhat threatened by him. I don't understand the dynamics.”

“I still want to submit to you and only you.” She was touched by his admission. He was trying and that meant so much to her.

“We need limitations.”

“Managing a relationship is hard enough but throwing in the submissive stuff is even harder. I know we can make it work though.”

“I love your determination.” He gently pressed his lips to hers. “You’re my world and I’ll do anything to keep you in it.”

“Even if that includes tying me up?” She laughed.

“If I must.” He rolled his eyes and pulled her closer. “But I don’t want it to be all kink and games. I need all the other stuff too.”

“I need your dominance, but I want your heart more. We’ll come up with a balance. I don’t ever want to be away from you again.” She slowly kissed him. “I love you, Cade.”

“I love you too. I promise I’ll never walk out on you again, and I’ll never ask you to leave.”

Epilogue

Two months later…

Gracie was skillfully tied to the bedposts. Martin had showed Cade some safe techniques when it came to bondage. Once Cade learned how to properly restrain her, he’d found a new confidence. He was always careful, but he was no longer afraid of hurting her.

She couldn’t see what was going to happen next. The silk blindfold had made sure of that. She felt the cool ice cube glide over her hardened nipple. It made her pussy tingle, and she hoped Cade would rub the ice against her clit. Fire and ice. The heat of her arousal and desire cooled by a melting ice cube between her thighs always brought her close to climax.

“I should have put the clamps on these pretty nipples,” he whispered against her throat.

She pulled against the restraints. Her body was in overdrive. He’d been touching her and bringing her to the edge for what seemed like hours. He’d already allowed her to climax a few times, but now he wasn’t being so generous. She was worked up and ready to come, but every time she was about to he stopped what he was doing and started something new. The man had a gift for sensory play.

“You want this ice cube inside your pussy, don’t you?”

“Please, Master,” she moaned.

“Since you asked nicely...” He trailed the melting ice cube down her stomach, over her freshly waxed mound, and rubbed it against her lower lips. “I bet the heat inside this pussy is going to melt this ice in less than a second.”

She licked her lips and waited for him to move the ice inside her. He licked a trail down her stomach and settled between her legs. As he kissed her inner thighs he ran the cube along her slit. He slowly slipped the melting piece of ice inside her, holding it in place as he circled her clit with his thumb.

Her legs quivered against his shoulders. He abandoned the ice cube, and as it slid out of her body his heated tongue flatten against her pussy. He treated her to long, slow licks. She pulled against the restraints again as she thrust her lower body into his face.

“Oh…I’m gonna come…” He didn’t say she couldn’t so she let go and shuddered against his face. He inserted his fingers and moved them in time with his tongue, concentrating on her clit.

She felt him slither up her body and gently remove the blindfold. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the darkness of the room.

He smiled at her and then gently kissed her lips. “You did really well.” He untied her wrists and rubbed them. “Do you feel okay?”

“Yes.”

He continued to rub her wrists and shoulders. “I’ll draw you a warm bath in a few minutes.”

“Thank you, Master. That’s very kind of you.”

“You were restrained for over an hour. You brought me to climax twice, and I seem to have lost count as to how many times you came today.” He laughed as he handed her a glass of water from the nightstand. “Drink that.”

She took the water from him and slowly sipped it.

“Is there anything else I can get you? Do you need me to do anything for you?” He pulled on his sweatpants and handed her a short, silk robe.

“The bath sounds really nice and maybe a cup of tea.” She wiggled into the robe and then leaned against the headboard. “Can you hold me for a few minutes?” Sometimes after a long session of play she needed the comfort of his arms.

“I can hold you all night.” He settled in next to her and wrapped his arms around her.

She liked this part of the evening. When the scene was finished and they could just be a normal couple. They were becoming more comfortable in their journey, and it was getting easier to slip in and out of their roles.

“I know we talked about you not having to wear a collar to prove you’re mine, but I’ve changed my mind.” Cade stroked her arm.

“You want me to wear your collar?” They’d already decided she would call him Master, but both felt it unnecessary to wear something that symbolized what they were to one another. They had both agreed they knew in their hearts.

“Something like that.” He reached into the nightstand and pulled out a small, pale blue box. He shifted her body so she was facing him. The box was too small to contain a collar or even a necklace.

“What is that?” She couldn’t wait for him to show her.

He smiled as he flipped open the box and revealed the most stunning diamond ring she’d ever seen. “Gracie Miller, will you do me the honor of becoming Gracie Jameson?”

She nodded as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“I don’t want to go all Dom on you now, baby, but I need words. Will you marry me?”

“Yes, Cade, I would love to marry you.” She held out her hand and watched as he slipped the ring on her finger. She couldn’t stop trembling. “It’s beautiful.”

“Not as beautiful as you.” He brushed his lips against her mouth and pulled her closer to him. “You’ll always be mine.”

“And I’ll always stay with you.”
