He laughed. “I never expected it, that’s for sure.”

She shivered against him.

“You’re cold.” Of course she’d be cold. She was standing in his study completely naked.

“A little.”

“Why don’t you go and take a hot shower.” He unbuttoned his shirt and removed it. “As much as I like you naked, I don’t want you to freeze.” He put the shirt on her and fastened the first few buttons. “I had some stuff delivered yesterday and I wanted to show it to you.”

“What kind of stuff?”

“You’ll see when I show you.” He swatted her ass. “Go. I’ll figure out dinner while you unwind.”

“Have I told you how perfect I think you are?” She ran her fingers over the stubble on his chin.

“I think you’re pretty special too.” He wanted to tell her he’d never stopped loving her and how much he wanted to worship her, but he wasn’t sure that was what she wanted to hear. It was too soon. He needed to see where they were headed before he put his heart out there.

“Don’t take too long,” she said as she headed for the stairs. “I’m starving.”

“Is that an order?” He smiled. “I think you’re more dominant than you admit.”

“It’s just a request, and one I hope you’ll grant.” She disappeared from his sight.

I’d grant you anything.

Gracie sat on Cade’s bed and waited for him to join her. She pulled the collar of his shirt up to her nose and inhaled. She rubbed it against her face and then sank back into the fluffy pillows. Images of the last two weeks flooded her mind when she closed her eyes. Every time she thought of Cade she smiled. Her return had worked out much better than she could have hoped. She cuddled deeper into the bed, wanting to spend the rest of her life there with her perfect man.

“You look comfortable,” Cade said as he entered the room. “We’ll have dinner up here tonight.” He flicked on the gas fireplace and placed a bottle of wine and two glasses on the nightstand.

Gracie sat up. “Your bed is wonderful.”

“You’re welcome to join me in it any night.” He gently kissed her lips. “One of the hardest parts when you left was not having you in my arms when I fell asleep.”

“It took me awhile to learn to sleep without you.” She hadn’t shared a bed with Martin every night. He felt it was better to retreat to separate bedrooms, especially after a long session in the playroom. He’d always given her time to reflect on their activities. The nights she was alone in her room were the hardest, because that was when she allowed memories of Cade to seep back in.

“I realize how senseless it was for me to send you away.”

“I told you I don’t see it that way. I needed to be on my own.”

Gracie could tell Cade didn’t agree, but he didn’t say anything. “Will you pour the wine while I get the packages I wanted to show you?” He walked over to the closet and pulled out four boxes and placed them on the bed.

“What are these?”

He sat down next to her. “I did some shopping.”

“What kind of shopping?”

“Open the boxes.” He took a glass from her and quickly drank the wine. He looked nervous. “I didn’t know what you would want.”

Gracie opened the first box and smiled. It was packed with scented oils, lubricants, a blindfold, and pink, furry handcuffs.

“That’s the fluffy box.” He shrugged. “They get increasingly kinkier.”

“You’ve made some nice choices.”

He opened the next one and pulled out a black leather riding crop. She was met with his intense gaze and she could see he was uncomfortable.

She placed her hand over his, wanting to reassure him. “You could use that for erotic spankings too. You could gently slap my inner thighs and nipples. You don’t have to hurt me.”

“I don’t think I want to hurt you,” he whispered. “I keep reading that contract, but hitting you to punish you doesn’t feel right to me.”

“You spanked me in your study.”

“That was for fun, and you liked it.” He stroked her cheek. “A crop or a strap isn’t the same as my hand. I’m not there yet. I don’t know if I ever will be.”

“It’s okay.” She leaned in and kissed him. “We can go as slowly as you need.” Gracie didn’t mind being punished when the situation called for it, but she would never push Cade’s limits.

“Here, open this one next.” He handed her another box.

She flipped the lid and looked inside. “Very nice.” She took out a small package. “Ben Wa Balls. I’ve never used these, but I hear they can be very satisfying.” She rummaged through the box and pulled out the nipple clamps.

“It looks like they might be painful.”

“In a good way.” She winked.

“Gracie, you know so much. Too much.”

“Does that bother you?” She hoped her experience didn’t deter him. She wasn’t that same innocent girl who left him. She’d grown into a woman who knew what she wanted in a partner. She really wanted that man to be him.

“I can’t deny that the past few weeks we’ve had incredible, mind-blowing sex. I never knew having an orgasm could be so intense. Before they were all the same, but now…shit, woman, I can’t wait for the next one. I don’t know how you haven’t dehydrated me.”

She giggled. “So, what’s the problem?”

“You’re so confident, and you know exactly what you want and how to get it.”

“And you’re used to being in control.”

“It’s who I am.”

“It’s who I want you to be. Just because I’m introducing you to a new way of life doesn’t mean you can’t be in control. You’re learning how to dominate me, and that’s going to take time. If you like where we’re headed, I don’t see what the problem is.”

“You amaze me.” He cupped her chin in his hand. “I can’t believe you’re the same woman who left here two years ago.”

She shook her head. “I’m not the same. I hope you can accept that.”

“I like who you’ve become. I just hope I’m enough for you.” He kissed her. “I don’t want to screw this up again.”

“I won’t let you.” She straddled his lap. “Why don’t I show you how those clamps work?”

He nodded. “Green. Definitely green.”

Chapter 8

Gracie took Cade’s hand as they strolled down the beach on Martha’s Vineyard. She’d had to tend to the details of a wedding earlier in the day, but the rest of her weekend was free. Cade suggested they take the ferry to the island. They used to spend summer afternoons walking along the beach and dreaming about a future. Gracie didn’t think they’d ever be back in such a beautiful place together.

“Is it just like you remember?” Cade asked as he led her down the beach.

“It’s still so pretty here. And the weather is gorgeous. It’s a perfect autumn day.” She looked up at the stunning beach house that overlooked the ocean. “I remember that house.” She pointed to it. “Sometimes I dream about it.”

“We used to pretend it was ours.” Cade laughed. “You wanted it to be your summer home one day. You said we’d bring the kids here.”

“I had big dreams.” She longed for the days when she used to be able to talk about having Cade’s babies. She could almost see them in her mind. They were usually boys and they looked exactly like their daddy.

“Let’s get a closer look.” Cade pulled her toward the massive house located on a secluded part of the island. They walked up the path leading to the front of the house.

“It’s so beautiful,” she said.

“Come on.” He walked up the porch steps.

“Cade.” She looked around. “What if someone is home?”

“I’m sure they won’t mind.”

“We’re trespassing.” She didn’t notice any cars in the driveway and no lights appeared to be on, but she still didn’t want to get caught.

“You can’t trespass on your own property.” He shot her his signature stunning smile. “Want to see the inside?”

“This is your house?”

He nodded.

“You bought our dream house?” Gracie couldn’t understand why he would do such a thing. She left him without a word. He had no idea she was coming back to him. Could he have been waiting for her to return?

“It went up for sale about a year ago, and I bought it. I’ve only been here a few times since I purchased it, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy this house for you.”

“For me?”

“I know it was silly. I didn’t think I’d ever see you again, but buying this place gave me a sense of hope.”

“That’s a lot of money for hope.” She shook her head. “I can’t believe this is your house.”

He dangled the keys in front of her face. “Believe it.” He opened the door and motioned for her to go inside. “I hope it’s everything you thought it would be.”

“Are you kidding me? Look at this place.” She laughed as she practically skipped through the foyer. “This is spectacular. Oh my God! Look at that view.”

“You should see it from the enclosed porch.” He pointed down the hall. “There’s a hot tub and a fireplace back there. I thought we could spend the evening out there.”

“Can we stay a bit? What time is the last ferry back?” She hated to think they had to leave so soon.

“I was thinking we could spend the night here.” He took her hand and pulled her against his chest. “We could make love out on that porch and listen to the waves crash to the shore.”

“It sounds romantic, but we didn’t bring any clothes or necessities.” She didn’t want to be practical, but she was a planner.

“I took the liberty of having some clothes and whatever else I thought we would need delivered this afternoon. Everything should be in the bedroom.”

“You have got to be the most romantic man I’ve ever met.” She kissed him. “I can’t believe this is your house.”

He kissed her forehead. “I like to think of it as ours.”

She smiled, but she wasn’t ready to dream that big. Not yet.

“I’ll make sure everything is in order,” Cade said. “Why don’t you take a shower and I’ll get dinner situated. I had groceries delivered too.”

“Want to join me in the shower?”

“I’m sure we’ll have time for another one later.” He ran his fingers through her hair. “I’ll leave something on the bed for you to wear. Meet me out on the porch. I’ll start the fire.”

“I won’t be long.”

“Good.” He took her face between his hands and roughly kissed her. “I’m not a patient man.”

“I know.” She giggled. “It’s a major turn on.”

* * * *

Cade sat on the plush chaise lounge chair on the huge enclosed porch and listened to the sound of the ocean. When he purchased this house he never expected to bring Gracie there. He thought he’d eventually use it as a rental property. But now that she was there everything seemed possible again.

He took a long pull from his bottle of beer when he heard her feet pad against the hardwood floor of the hall. He looked up and practically choked on his drink at the sight of her.

“Fuck,” he whispered.

“You like it?”

She stood in the dimly light doorway in a sheer black nighty that stopped at mid-thigh. The front plunged dangerously low, revealing the tops of her full, beautiful breasts. He was already hard and dripping with pre-cum. This woman made him lose all sense of reason.

“I picked it out.” He smiled. “But let me get a closer look. Come here.” He curled his finger and motioned for her to walk to him. He sat up and pulled her between his legs. “You’re gorgeous.”

He trailed his hand up her leg and under the sheer material of her negligee. He knew she would be bare since he hadn’t left her any panties. He dipped his finger inside her warm, wet folds and watched as she parted her lips and threw her head back.

“I wasn’t planning on taking you so quickly.” He pressed his face to her stomach as he continued to finger her. “But I can’t wait.”

“Then don’t. I’m here for your pleasure.” She took the beer from his other hand and placed it on the table by the chair.

He unbuckled his belt and pushed his jeans over his hips. His dick was already standing at full attention and ached to get inside her heat. “Leave that on.” He tugged at her nighty and then pulled her on top of him. “I want you to ride me.”

She straddled his hips and slowly lowered herself onto his cock, gripping the base of it and guiding it into her pussy. She closed her eyes as she leaned back, resting her hands on his thighs, adjusting herself until she found her rhythm.

He watched as she moved back and forth over his cock. She was stunning. He could see her rose-colored nipples straining against the thin material as her tits bounced up and down.

“Pull your hair out of that clip.”

She reached up and freed her long, flowing hair. He tangled the ends around his fingers and pulled her head down until their mouths met. As she leaned forward, his cock plunged deep inside her pussy. He felt her muscles tightened as she let out a long, low moan.

He ran his hands down her back and squeezed her ass before circling her tight hole. “Can I touch you there?”

“Yes.”

He pushed his fingertip just at the entrance, causing her to moan louder. He’d taken her that way before when they were younger, but she wasn’t always receptive to it. He wondered if that had changed. He played at the opening, because he didn’t have lube handy and he wouldn’t hurt her, but the sexy noises she made were a good indication she liked it.

“Is your ass something you’re willing to give me?”

“I’ll give you everything,” she whispered against his lips. “I’m yours.”

He continued to circle her opening, but once she sat back up and rocked into him hard he lost all sense of what he was doing. She made him feel so good.

“Cade, baby…” She closed her eyes and released.

Her warm juices slid down his cock as she convulsed above him. He watched as she lost herself in the moment. She'd forgotten to ask permission to come, and it was nice to just be a couple having sex. A few more swivels of his hips and he came hard and fast. He held her still and emptied deep inside her.

She fell forward and buried her face in his shoulder. He rubbed her back as he regulated his breathing. There were so many emotions swirling around in his head. He knew he shouldn’t say anything at all. Some words spoken in the aftermath of intercourse were never a good idea, but if he didn’t say what was on his mind at that moment he feared he’d lose his nerve.
