Jessica felt a soft hand placed upon her shoulder. “It is done.” She opened her eyes and stepped back from the haunting look of betrayal still etched into to Mark’s face.

Alcina handed her the blood filled goblet. “Drink first and pour the rest down his throat and whisper these words, ‘você é meu para ordenar, corpo e voz’.

Jessica nodded and took the cup and drank deeply before pouring the rest down Mark’s throat reciting the words. His eye’s flickered shut and then opened once more, void and blank.

“He is now yours to command.” Alcina told her.

“Want to hit up another bar?” The tall, blond haired man asked.

His friend burped and looked like he might throw up. “No I think I am done for the night Jeff.” He burped again. “I think those chicken wings were bad.”

“Dude I told you not to eat bar food here,” Jeff laughed, “but you never listen do you.”

“But I saw other people eating them.” He groaned.

Jeff grinned. “Ya but they were locals, the good food always goes to them.”

“Did you hear that?”

“Hear what?” Jeff stopped and listened for a moment. “You’re crazy Steven I hear nothing.”

“That noise,” Steven moved closer to an alleyway. “It sounds like it is coming from down here. Hello? Is anyone there?”

Jessica watched from an adjacent window as the two men pulled out the ragged figure into the light of the street lamp a single tear escaped her.

When James isn't on his computer writing he enjoys recreational activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, and archery. Along with being an adventurous outdoors man James also spends many of his hours in a day as a devoted husband and father.
