“Fine I’ll wear the damn church shirt, Happy now!”

“Ecstatic!” I smiled.

Straightening his collar, he ran his fingers through his hair and posed in front of the mirror. If I looked in a dictionary and found the world vain, I’m sure underneath would be a picture of Josh flexing.  Even though Josh is a vain boy he doesn’t really shove it in other people’s faces, just mainly in mine and Alex’s.

“Right Gals I am off to Pick up Megan and take her to Goodwin’s, wish me luck” He grinned.  Making his way out of his room he waved goodbye.

“I’m wishing more luck to Megan. I have a feeling she’s going to need it.” I mocked taking a seat back onto his bed.

“I would love to be a fly on the wall on his date,” I teased “I wonder what type of Date he would be like, I don’t really see him as being a gentlemen.”

“No,  nor do I. I think he is one of them treat them mean, keep them keen kind of guys” Alex replied picking up some of the clothes that Josh had thrown on to the floor. After hanging up his fourth t shirt, Alex paused and turned towards me with a huge grin on her face.

“I know that look whatever you’re thinking… I’m so up for it.” I beamed standing up in excitement. Alex’s plans were always guaranteed to be exciting.

“Fancy stalking him on his date?” She beamed with delight in her eyes.

“I don’t know it’s a big date… Why am I even thinking about this, Let's go” I exclaimed following Alex out of the room.

Chapter fourteen

“Is it over yet.,I don’t think I can watch it anymore,” Alex whispered covering her eyes with her hands.

“It’s like a train crash, but I can’t seem to tear my eyes away.” I replied.

Watching Josh from a table three seats away, we couldn’t understand why Josh was crashing so badly on his date.  He pulled out her chair when they were seated and pushed her in to far in, now they were sitting in total silence.

“By the way Alex you look amazing as a blonde,” I complimented. In order for us not to be caught out by Josh we had to do a spell that changed our appearance. Unfortunately, it only last two hours and by the way this date was going, it was going to drag on for a lot longer than two hours.

“Thanks but no offence, you don’t suit a small bob hair cut. I prefer your hair longer,” she spoke whilst ruffling her own hair with her fingers.

“Speak Josh! Talk about anything! Spoons… cutlery… the weather!” I yelled silently at him. It was taking all my strength not to go over to him and shake him. Megan was tapping her fingers on the green table cloth, most likely out of boredom. Personally if, this was my date, I would have walked out.

“I can’t take much more of this,” Alex sighed eating some of her brownie. The waitress at Goodwin’s didn’t appreciate it when we only ordered deserts. After dinner at the Edelweiss’s, I couldn’t eat anything else, but there is always room for dessert. Glancing back at Josh’s table, Megan stood up and headed towards the toilets.

“It’s now or never Elle,” Alex mumbled with brownie in her mouth. Standing up we ran to Josh’s table and sat in front of him.

“Sup Bro,” Alex greeted as Josh began to fuss about two strangers sitting in front of him.

“Alex, Elle oh my days. Can’t I have one night away from you two!” He hissed.

“Oh be quiet, we are here to save the day,” Alex smiled stealing a piece of chicken from Josh’s plate. How can she still be hungry?

“Face it champ, it’s not going well, and your date will be back from the toilet any minute…”

“That’s if she hasn’t crawled out of the window,” Alex interrupted earning her a dirty look from Josh.

“Alex,” I gasped.

“What? I’m just saying,” she mumbled.

“Well don’t.” Josh growled placing his head in his hands.

“You can bring this back ok, just Listen. One word of advice talk. She’s in one of your class’s right?” I asked. He nodded with his head still in his hands.

“Well then talk about that. Ok, then hopefully it will follow on to something else, but for the love of humanity don’t sit and say nothing.”

As I finished Alex pushed me out of my seat. Turning towards the toilets, I saw Megan coming back our way.

“Say something,” I whispered in his ear as we ran back to our seats.

Hopefully that little piece of advice will make this date go a whole lot faster. I can already see my hair growing back to its normal length and Alex’s hair was turning back to brunette.  Finishing my chocolate sundae,I watched as Megan began to talk for the first time on their date. It had been going on for at least an hour and a half already.

“This brownie is absolutely amazing, I think I might have another one,” Alex mumbled through another spoonful of brownie and ice cream.

“You are so disgusting,” handing her a napkin, I pointed at the chocolate dribble escaping from the corners of her mouth.  A child could have eaten their desert with more grace than she did.

“Whatever, Oh my lucky stars. Is that Roberta,” Alex shouted, alerting half of the people around us. Even Josh and Megan turned to look back at us she was that loud.

“This is why I don’t take you places!” I yelled in a whisper. Rolling her eyes she pointed in the direction of a stick thin red head with an, I’m the best attitude. The attitude where a person thinks everyone is staring at them, with the constant hair flip and butt shaking action.  Basically, a witch version of Emma from college, I really should see how Oscar is dealing with that situation after the dance three weeks ago.  I’m sure Oscar is still scarred from the attack she made on him. Since when has jumping on a boy and trying to kiss him count as romantic.

“Man those heels are high!” Alex grunted.

“Tell me again why you dislike her so much?” I asked eating the last spoonful of chocolate sauce from the bottom of my ice cream sundae.

“I don’t dislike her. I physical can’t stand the girl. She makes my skin crawl.” Scrunching up her hand into a fist, she slammed it on the table.

“I’m aware of that, I just don’t see why. Yes,  she looks like an annoying bitch, but I wouldn’t have said she made my skin crawl.” Receiving a scowl from Alex, I looked into my sundae bowl and began scrapping the sides for more chocolate sauce.

“Remember that time when I had that major crush on Jack Olsen?” She asked.

“Remember? You made me go down to the football pitch every day to see him,” I moaned remembering the two years back, when I spent the whole summer watching guys play football. Not that I complained, nothing wrong with watching football players all day.

“Yeah well, I was so close to getting him…”

“Really?” I asked raising my eyebrow.

“Ok, so I was closer than I was before,” She mumbled into her plate. Chuckling I gestured for her to carry on.

“Anyway, she totally stole him from me…”

“From you?” I mocked.

“Do you want me to finish telling this story?” She asked giving me a stern look.

“Alright. I’m sorry, please continue with this amazingly accurate story of yours,” I smiled mockingly.

“I don’t think I want to anymore. You have hurt my feelings,” She cried putting her hands to her face, pretending to cry. Shoving her with my shoulder, she chuckled and moved her hands from her face.

“Fine where was I, Oh yeah. She heard that I liked him, so she hooked up with him. Then she stayed with him until he fell in love with her. Then she broke up with him, and he still hasn’t gotten over it,” she sighed throwing daggers at Roberta who was at the bar chatting up a waiter.

“What a bitch,” I smiled.

Glancing back at Josh’s table, he was holding Megan’s hand over the table. Holding back the urge to make kissy noises with Alex. I coughed and nudged Alex as they stood up to leave.

“That’s our cue,” I exclaimed leaving a tip for the waiter, even though he was rude when taking our order.

Following them out into the car park, my hair flicked across my face in the wind. Well at least the spell has worn off.

Hiding behind the cars, we watched as Josh kissed Megan on the cheek. Smiling at him, she leaned in to him, but before they could continue their embrace. Megan flew through the sky and landed on the floor in front of a silver Jeep.

“Megan!” Josh yelled, crossing the wide gap that Megan had been thrown across. She lay lifelessly against the grate on the Jeep as Josh tried to find a pulse.

The wind whistled through the trees as two husky men closed in on Josh and Megan. Shape shifting into a panther, Josh guarded Megan with his teeth bared towards the two men.

“I’ll have the bald one,” Alex whispered next to me.

“John Travolta look alike it is then.” Jumping from behind the cars, we both ran towards our chosen demon.  Shooting two fire electricity balls his way, he shimmered from their direction.  Searching the car park I couldn’t see where he had gone. Alex had her situation in order, and Josh was trying to get Megan to regain consciousness. All my thoughts were on my missing John Travolta. Stepping back the uneasiness crept up on me.

Before I had a chance to turn around, he was on my back weighing me down, making me kneel to the floor. Bearing his teeth from the corner of my eye, I saw his fangs inches from my skin. A vampire. Vampires, I hate vampires, always trying to get their teeth into unknowing victims. Elbowing him straight in the nose, he cried out in pain and released his grip on me.

“Vampires Alex!” I yelled, jumping on top of a blue rover in a bid to escape the bared teeth of the vampire on my tail.

“Awesome!” She shouted kneeing her Vampire in the gut.

“Come on then Sucker,” I chuckled crouching in front of him. He mirrored my actions and growled at me, his fangs glistened in the light from the lamp post.

Hurdling towards me, he threw his arms out to grab me. I jumped into the air and landed on the other side of the car I was on.  Lunging towards me again, I jumped above him and landed with my knees on his shoulders. With a twist of his head, I broke his neck. Rolling off the car his dead body landed on the concrete.

“I hate vampires!” Alex screamed as another bunch of vampires crowded in on us.  Once just once I would like to go out somewhere without a hoard of demon creatures being there to attack me. Throwing a glance at Alex, we both smiled and ran towards the pack of approaching Vampires. Hearing the cry from a vampire, I saw that Josh had tore her to shreds with his razor sharp panther teeth.  High kicking one Vampire in the gut, I jumped over him and broke the neck of the one behind him. Grabbing me from behind, one of them began to strangle me. I could feel his breath on my skin as he continued to have his arm wrapped around my throat. Elbowing him in the side, his grip loosened. Seizing my chance, I punched him in the nose and swivelled round, kicking his feet making him crumble to the ground. Firing a fire ball at the Vampire in front, he burst into flames. Alex pushed another into him, making him catch fire as well.

“What do you want,” I yelled as they began to back away from us.

“It doesn’t matter anymore, we have her.” One of them sneered biting into Megan’s neck.

“NO!” I yelled, but it was too late. He had already bitten her, there was nothing else we could do.

“What the hell are you doing!” Shouted Logan as he shimmered next to the tall red head who had just bitten Megan.

“Orders from the King Logan.  None of your business!” She snapped.

“None of my business? Oh I’m sorry Ruby am I not the Prince who also controls your sorry arse. Yes, Yes I think I am. So ill repeat myself. What are you doing!” He yelled making Ruby jump away from him. Shaking herself she straightened herself up and pretended not to be threatened by Logan.

“She has been Chosen to Join us. We get one a year Logan, and you can’t stop us!” She exclaimed stepping away from him as she spoke.

“Fine! Take her away!” He sighed dismissing her with his hand.

“Do you want us to clean up the left over’s?” She sneered looking in our direction. Throwing a fire ball in her direction, it hit the car at the side of her. She shrilled and began to walk towards me, her teeth bared.

“No!” He yelled holding her back. She attempted to push him away, but as his eyes turned black she backed down.

“Really? I wouldn’t mind having a one on one fight with her. Killing her would be fun,” I hissed winking at her, angering Ruby even more.

“She needs to feed. We shall take her to London, there is always fresh blood around there,” She sneered my way. The blood in my veins boiled at the thought of an innocent’s blood being spilt because of this disgusting creature.

“Fine Just get out of here!” He yelled.  My head began to thump as the anger boiled inside of me. My hands burned as I stood staring at Megan on the floor. She would wake up and be ready to feed as a newborn vampire, and I couldn’t inflict that on the mortal world, even if she was someone I knew. My hands began to glow as they burned, releasing the heat I sent a ray of bright lights around the car park. This surprised me a lot more than it did the others. Controlling the light, I beamed a ray over in the direction of a vampire, and he burst in a ball of light and disapparate.

“Now I’m going to keep killing you one by one. Don’t try to run away because I will just go ahead and kill you anyway.” I smiled at their strained faces. Looking at Josh I mouthed I’m sorry, and he nodded towards me. I had to kill her, I had no other choice, I couldn’t let her kill any innocents.

Sending a blast of light at Megan, Logan blocked it, and it disappeared.

A dark cloud formed in front of us blurring my vision, not even the light from my hands could light up the dark fog. I felt someone breathing on my neck, and I braced myself for a fight.

“I’m sorry,” Logan whispered in my ear as the dark cloud began to lift.

“Bastard!” I yelled searching the now empty car park. He let them escape, that conniving two faced piece of crap. The feeling of betrayal made me want to kill something. Throwing a dozen fire balls I blew up the Jeep that Megan had been thrown against. Screaming I rubbed my face with my hands and then ran them through my hair.

“Out of all my dates That, That was the worst. I told you he was trouble Elle, Maybe this time you will listen.” Josh exclaimed.

“Ok Josh I don’t need to be told Ok!” I yelled.

“Come on Guys let's go Home,” Alex sighed walking away from the restaurant and away from the burnt out Jeep. Well someone’s going to be pissed about their car.
