“Of, sweetheart she will. Just give her time. She is only a few hours old.” Yasmine snuggled the small sleeping bundle closer to her chest.

“Is Selena going to want to play with my cars and football with us, Daddy? Or only Barbies with Jessica?” Joshua’s dark brown eyes were wide with curiosity.

“Son, I will make sure we teach her how to play all sports.” Jason smiled down at their son as he stroked the back of Selena’s tiny fist.

“She’s very pretty, Mommy. Even though she won’t wake up.” Jessica said while Joshua attempted to peel the blanket away from Selena’s feet.

Reaching out, Yasmine cupped her daughter cheek. Jessica and Joshua had brought so much to her life and she never wanted her twins to think that she would love the baby she’d birthed anymore than she did them. “Just as lovely as her big sister.”

That made Jessica’s face radiate with a wide snag-tooth smile.

Glancing from their infant and meeting her gaze, Jason stroked her cheek. “Thank you, for such a special addition to our family.”

“I think you may have had a part to play in this little ones creation, too.”

“Maybe,” he teased. “But you had to do all the hard work to get her here.” He leaned down and kissed her lightly on the lips.

“Eww!” Jessica and Joshua squealed in unison.

Yasmine and Jason started laughing at the twins’ response.

Selena began to squirm.

Her husband calmed her with a gentle brush of his lips over the top of the baby’s crown.

His intense green gaze met hers. “I love you, Yasmine.”

“I love you. Thank you for giving me so much love and a family.”

“You’re welco—“

“Did someone say family?” Teddy asked as he and Lisa came walking into the post-delivery hospital room carrying a bouquet of pink carnations and ten balloons that read IT’S A GIRL and one blue one.

“You didn’t have to buy out every balloon in the gift shop for the baby?” Jason strutted toward his siblings and hugged them.

“Yes, I did. That’s what the best uncle in the world does.” He stepped to Joshua and gave him the blue balloon and handed a solid pink balloon to Jessica before kissing and hugging them both.

Yasmine loved how Jason’s family had accepted not only her, but the twins as if Jason was the biological father to them. It always warmed her heart.

Lisa crossed the room and held her arms out. “Give me my new niece please. I want to get in all of my hugs and nibbles in before mom get here tomorrow and doesn’t let anyone else hold Selena.”

Yasmine handed over the baby.

“You know to stay true to the example our parent’s set, Jason, you and Yasmine need to get to making baby number four in about four weeks.” Teddy teased.

“Not on your life.” Jason declared.

“I think three is our magic number.”

“You and Crystal can get started at anytime.”

Teddy went quite and Yasmine couldn’t help but notice a shadow crossing her brother in-law’s features. She wondered what the story was behind the look. But, now was a happy time and she didn’t want to cause anyone to be sad. Later on she would discuss her impressions with her husband and maybe he could talk to his brother while Teddy was there visiting.

“Well, three must be my magic number, too.” Lisa tossed out.

All eyes focused on Jason’s sister.

“You’re pregnant?” Yasmine asked.

Joy shone all over the other woman’s countenance. “Yes! Thomas is so happy and so are the kids.”

“What about his frequent travel schedule?” Jason asked. “I don’t want my sister to be stuck at home raising three children.”

Teddy arched an eyebrow as if echoing Jason’s question.

She stuck her tongue out at her brothers. “He just got promoted and will be taking fewer trips, and shorter ones.”

“Now that’s something to celebrate,” Teddy cheered.

Selena chose that moment to awaken with a loud cry.

“Oh, I think someone is hungry.” Lisa kissed Selena on the temple and passed her back to Yasmine. “How about if Teddy and I take the twins out for lunch while you and Jason feed and settle the little one?”

Yasmine sighed and smile. “Thank you.”

“You’re the best.” Jason kissed his sister’s cheek. “I owe you.”

“We’ll take care of them for the night. Keep them out of your hair.” Teddy added.

“If you’re sure?” Jason asked.

“Absolutely.” Looking at the twins Teddy said, “Come on kids, Uncle Teddy and Aunt Lisa want you all to show us how to play the video games at the arcade.”

The twins jumped up and down then grabbed their uncle’s hand as the waved good-bye to their parents and their new baby sister.

As the trio headed out the door, Lisa shook her head. “Looks like I got my hands filled with three kids already.”

Jason and Yasmine laughed as his sister followed the others out closing the door behind them.

Yasmine cupped her daughter’s cheek as Selena’s cries turned into whimpers as she latched on the distended nipple.

“Sweetheart, I want you to know, I’ve never felt as much joy as I’ve feel right now.”

“So, you don’t regret turning down the vice president position for the second time after Raquel left to take a position with one of your competitors?” The same day she had found out they were pregnant Jason had told her about Raquel’s abrupt departure from Coleman and Weary. When he found out about the baby he’d refused to take the opening. He’d said he was happy, but she wanted to be sure, especially since he had given her so much.

He took hold of her hand, lacing his fingers through hers. “You and our children make my life more complete than I could have ever dream. There isn’t a single day that goes by I think about doing anything different when I open my eyes but sharing every moment with you.”

Tears welled up in her eyes and spilled over, running in rivers down her chin. Over the years with Jason, she’d learned it was okay to cry. And during intimate moment like this one with her husband and their new baby was just as good as any reason.

“I’m so glad you asked me to marry you.”

“I’m so glad you stopped turning me down.” Leaning in he kissed her deep before he sat back and began telling the little girl her first bedtime story.

Oh, yes, this man had healed her heart.
