My vents flare when her scent fills with joy and love. I know it’s love. The guys were right. I look down at her and know I’ve fallen in love with my little human. If that barpolian hadn’t called out to us, I wouldn’t have ever found her. I think of her chained and being sold. Anger flashes through me. She’s safe now. A terrible situation led to love.

I inhale the scent of love and peace ripples through me. I should have realized she’d taken my heart sooner. I look into her eyes and it dawns on me that I couldn’t have known because she’d filled the space in my chest with her own heart.

A bird flies around Kinsey Lea capturing her attention. Battles are going on all around me but I’m at peace.

Through the noise of battle, people, and birds I hear Ryk give off a warning growl and then snarl. “Kesdy.”

Something in my heart snaps. I have to make Kinsey Lea Walker my kesdy. She will be a GyRol.

Joy explodes through me. Zar grins and gives me a knowing look. I don’t care that he knows. They’ll all know soon.

Our little humans finish their drinks and go over to a waste container and toss their cups in. Lusha’s pet leaps out from behind the container and dances around them.

When the attention beggar leaves, Ryk captures our females’ attention. “You can trust a flurcot but not all animals. We found out the one you three came across is a pinree. It’s from the planet Halness.”

Zar adds, “The furry animal is not dangerous but it could have been.”

I look our females over. “Never assume an animal is safe because it’s small and cute.”

At their promise to be more careful, relief slices through me. Their scent proves they are telling the truth.

All of us go on alert when a new group of people arrive. “They look like grounfos to me,” Ryk states as he stares at the group of males.

“I agree. We need to watch them closely.” The growl in my voice doesn’t escape the notice of the females. I’m fine with that. They need to know how serious this situation is.

“They just look like people to me,” Hallie says. Zar stares hard at her.

Skyla growls. “I don’t like how scary and mean you guys are now.”

Ryk scans the crowd and then looks at his kesdy. “That’s too bad because this is how things are now. You are going to have to get used to it. The grounfos are getting bolder every day.”

I take Kinsey Lea’s hand and lead her through the crowd. I can scent her concern but there is nothing I can do about it.

This is the world we live in. I’ll do anything to protect my chosen one.

CHAPTER

21

~ Din Tairin ~

As I guide Kinsey Lea toward the club I feel the energy pulse through me. It sinks into my soul.

A vehicle enters the clearing around the club. I keep my hand on Kinsey Lea’s back as the male stops near us.

The second his window is down I feel his bad energy. His yellow eyes rake over my female. I don’t like it. I pull her tight to my side. The wiptronian shouldn’t be looking at her.

Birds fly over us and chatter loudly. They must sense that this guy is bad. Smart birds.

The wiptronian leans forward. “Can anyone enter this club?”

I’m quick to the point. “No, you have to be a member. Right now we aren’t taking new members.”

“All right. I was just passing by and thought I’d ask. I’m here on business but pleasure is a bonus I can appreciate.”

“We can’t help you.”

The male nods and then drives away. I watch until he’s gone. I don’t like the vibe I got from him.

Kinsey Lea tugs my arm. “What species is he?”

I think of his silver skin, maroon hair, and yellow eyes. “A wiptronian. Don’t trust him.” At my growl she shivers and nods.

I inhale her scent and know she got the message. Relief washes over me.

I can’t lose her.

~ Kinsey Lea ~

The second we step into the club I see Tlo chattering loudly. Her fangs are showing and so are the tiny horns on top of her head. The warrior she is mad at is holding his hands up in surrender. She bares her fangs one more time and then flies away. The lights give her wings a fiery glow. A wild energy is pulsing through the club. The brewmars too.

I’m led to the bar. Lights flash in the silver trim around the smooth stone bar. I touch the metal. It’s warmer than I thought it would be. But then, this place is anything but cold.

Din Soja takes a look at us and smoothly fills two glasses of stros and passes them to Tairin. He hands me one before a male draws his attention. I sip my drink and watch all the unique people.

A flash of pink snags my gaze. It’s Looki My. Her white eyes look me over. She snaps at Din Lok to get her a drink.

“That was rude.” The comment just popped out of my mouth but I’m not sorry. This is not her first offense.

She taps her fingers on the bar until her drink is served. She takes a long drink and then eyes me. I fidget and her white eyes light up.

She leans in close to me and says, “Your nothing but a weak human. These warriors need tough females that can handle rough fucking.”

When Looki My trounces off, my heart thuds. A shadow shrouds my soul. Am I too weak for Din Tairin? Will he get tired of me? Does he need a tough female? A good workhorse of a woman?

I think of how he looks at me so lovingly and shake off the doubt that’s shrouding me. Din Tairin is mine. I’ll fight to stay with him. No flipping bully is going to make me doubt myself and him.

I take a sip of my drink and look around at all the happy people. The energy of the club starts to sink into my soul. I welcome the awesome feeling.

I’m bouncing to the beat by the time Tairin takes my hand and leads me toward the wrestling area. As we pass the mat, I see Din Treia pin Lank to the cushioned surface and kiss him soundly on the lips. The maroon skinned male writhes beneath her tall strong frame.

Heat pools in my core. I know how it feels to be covered by a big strong body.

We arrive at the owner’s table. I wave at Hallie and Skyla. A nudge to my arm has me frowning. The tsk that comes from Din Tairin has me cringing.

“Sorry.” I address Dins Zar, Ryk, and Von. They don’t soul search me for long. I’m flipping happy about that.

Tonight I get to sit with my friends while the guys talk business. Their gazes regularly scan the room. I see Kammy move to the mat with a warrior. I still can’t get over the shock of humans being on other planets. The bluemoonian laughs as she’s wrestled to the mat. Humans aren’t too weak for warriors.

Skyla and Hallie fill me in on what they’ve been up to and ask what I’ve been doing. It’s good to talk to them. I’d hate to be the only human from Earth here.

A female warrior decked out in black leather stops to talk to the guys. Blue highlights gleam in her short black hair. Her sweet smile doesn’t match her tough looking style. I lean close to my friends. “Who is she?”

Hallie looks at the warrior and then back at me. “Din Kysa TazLoc. She’s nice but her story isn’t.”

“What do you mean?”

Skyla rubs her belly. “Her seema died.”

“That’s horrible. What happened?”

“He fell and broke his neck while she was on a mission,” Hallie says.

“Flipping fuck, that’s terrible.”

“Right,” Hallie agrees.

Skyla leans even closer. “Now she’s determined to stay seema-free. It’s dang sad.”

Rosda and Rosman come over and the air around us fills with excitement. I get caught up in their happy vibe. As we chat, I see Rosman eyeing Din Kysa and her doing the same to him. After much staring she comes over and whispers in his ear. He shudders and then grins at us as he’s led to the wrestling mat.

This is such a good club.

Mayren walks over to us, her maroon skin glowing. Her pink lips curl into a wide smile. We all start talking about how hot the guys were while going through their fighting demonstrations. A shiver goes up and down my spine at the thought of how Tairin’s muscles rippled as he fought.

The beat pulses through the club keeping the energy alive and the people revved up. Between the atmosphere and Tairin I don’t stand a chance.

Mayren’s eyes glaze over with love and lust. I follow her gaze and see that Din Noleb Fabke has joined the other warriors.

Skyla nudges Mayren. “What’s up with the glazed eyes?”

Guilt flashes through her expressive eyes. “I don’t know. Din Noleb makes me feel things I shouldn’t.”

Hallie forces the issue. “Like what?”

Mayren looks longingly at Din Noleb. “I’m confused. I like my job but he makes me want to be only with him.”

Skyla slaps her leg. “Well dang, girl. Tell him. What if he feels the same way?” Skyla watches Din Noleb come our way. “Be aggressive. Tell him how you feel.”

Mayren only has time to nod before Din Noleb asks her to play and then he whisks her off. I didn’t miss the loving way he looked at the sweet mewmosian.

Rosda sighs. “Looks like we’re about to lose a plaything. I liked her.”

A warrior comes over and asks Rosda to play. She purrs as she’s led away.

Chattering and the fluttering of wings has me looking up. My jaw drops when I see two male brewmars battling in the air. It’s Ko and Bo. They have tiny swords. The music softens. I can hear the sing of metal. Their wings are a blur as they thrust, block, and dodge. Their muscles flex as they fight.

I stare in disbelief when Lo and Po tackle the males and then fly off with their prizes.

Skyla wiggles her eyebrows. “I know what they’re going to do.”

“The same thing we are,” Din Ryk says and then leads Skyla to a soft lounge.

Din Tairin takes my hand and starts leading me through the crowd.

“Where are we going?” He hasn’t led me this way before.

“To the Hide and Seek room. It’s time for you to experience it.”

My heart pounds along with the beat. I’ve heard the playrooms are a blast. Looks like I’m about to find out for myself.

We enter the room with Hallie and Din Zar close behind us. Hallie laughs at something Din Zar says and then slips into the plant filled room.

Tairin takes both of my hands in his. “Inside you’ll see paths, benches, art, others playing, and lots of plants. Your job is to hide. Like you would if an enemy was after you. My job is to prove you can trust me to always find you.”

“Are you kidding me? With your sense of smell you’ll find me easily.”

He points at the lush plants. “There are plants inside the room that hinder my sense of smell.”

Excitement rushes through me. “I’m going to make this hard for you.”

His eyes light up. “I’m glad to hear that. Now go hide, little seema.”

I whirl around and slip into the lush room. Awe fills me as I take in all the stone paths and thick foliage. I hear giggles and moans. When I hear footsteps, adrenaline pushes me forward and into a cove.

I stare at a statue of a couple. The warrior is staring down at the female. Confidence shines in his eyes. I’ve seen that look in Din Tairin’s eyes as well as his friends’ eyes. The female has a trusting look on her face. Do I look that way at Din Tairin?

I hear footsteps coming closer. A hand comes from the plants and pulls me inside. Flipping fuck. I relax when I turn and see Hallie. She puts a finger over her lips. I grin and nod my understanding.

I hear a tsking sound and then footsteps moving away.

Hallie leans in close and whispers, “Don’t let the art distract you.”

“Thanks, I’ll try not to in the future,” I whisper back.

Hallie moves on and so do I. A moan from nearby has my pulse thundering. What will happen when I’m caught? Desire whips around in my core. I hear footsteps and push my lust aside. I need to make this hard for him. When my clit pulses I know the sex is going to be better than ever.

Working my way through the plants is hard but exhilarating. I creep out into a cove and my stomach sinks when Din Tairin walks into it. “Flipping fuck.”

He just chuckles and then moves on. My heart does a backflip. That was Din Zairin. I haven’t been caught yet!

I slip in and out of the plants and coves. Keep moving is my strategy. I head into a new cove and stop when I see Tling By and a warrior writhing in ecstasy. Their shouts of completion fill the air. I take a step back and slip into another cove. It’s the one with the statue of the couple.

I jump when I hear a tsking sound right before strong arms wrap around me.

Knowing I’m caught, I sink into his embrace.

A shiver runs through me when he nuzzles my neck. “You did well, Kinsey Lea. Drokty. I’m proud of you.”

His praise lifts my spirits.

He inhales deeply and then growls softly against my neck. Goosebumps ripple over my skin.

He turns me in his arms. His hands caress my back. “I never want to let you go. Let me love you, mark you, keep you, cherish you. Be my kesdy, Kinsey Lea Walker.”

My heart does a double backflip. I look at the statue. Like the female, I trust my warrior.

I look into his beautiful eyes. I see love. “I love you. I’ll flipping gladly be your kesdy.”

Fire lights his eyes. “Let’s make it so, my special one.”

The evening air is cool and clean. My skin is hot and my heart is flittering faster than a hummingbird’s wings.

We just got home. Home. Will he stay with me forever? Will he take me being his kesdy seriously? My flipping past flashes through my mind. It’s not a pretty sight.
