CHAPTER

20

~ Kinsey Lea ~

Each clang of metal has me cringing.

Din’s Drokty is in full swing. The warriors are having a good time. I flinch when Din Tairin barely dodges one of Din Von’s throwing knives. I watch in amazement as the knife returns to Din Von. He catches it with ease every time. I’m glad Tairin can dodge so well and that he’s flipping good with a sword.

The guys are in full gear today. That makes them even more menacing and sexy than normal. So tall and deadly. There are several demonstrations going on. I’ve already seen dark redish purple blood spilt. It was a shock to see we don’t have the same blood color.

I press my hand to my belly. What color blood will the little one have? A gust of wind pushes me back a step.

Skyla laughs. “That happens to me all the time.”

“Zaphin does have some crazy wind,” Hallie agrees.

Tairin and Von’s match ends and Tairin heads our way. I smile up into gold and purple eyes that are alight with adrenaline and something else I can’t define. A kiss lands on my lips and lingers. I open for my warrior and sink into his strong embrace. That he’s sweaty makes him even more masculine and appealing. As he deepens the kiss I sink my hands into his damp hair. His taste and scent are causing fire to run through my veins. Each day I want him more.

Clanging and yelling remind me of where we are. Tairin groans and then pulls back. Lust heats his pretty eyes but that doesn’t stop him from scanning our surroundings.

Din Von walks over with two young zaphinian males. “Dins GyRol, WavTe, and TocGar, these youths will be observing us today.” He points at the green and gold eyed male. “This is Sar HatRe.” Then he motions toward the blue and silver eyed male. “And this is Ren MelTe.”

The boys look like they’d be young teens if they were humans. The two are looking at the warriors as if they are rockstars. The aura around them is impressive.

The guys go over some of their weapons and a few techniques with the youths and then head over to a massive stone carving.

“Knowing how to fight is only part of being a warrior. You must never forget why warriors are needed and what it truly means to be one,” Din Tairin says.

Din Ryk points at the carving and looks at Ren and Sar. “This carving reminds us that we are part of something bigger than us. We are part of this planet and it’s our duty to protect it and all who live here by any means necessary.”

A shiver runs down my spine. The guys have a hard and dangerous job. I need to make Tairin’s life as good as I can. My heart leaps and spins as I realize how important my job is and how necessary Club Release is. Seemas, kesdy’s, and playthings have honorable jobs. I’m proud to be one.

Tairin’s hand smooths down my back and rests right above the curve of my butt. The pride I was feeling at being his quickly turns to lust. I glance up at him but he is listening to the others. A low growl tries to rumble from me. I barely stop it from coming out. I want his attention but not in a bad way. Flipping crazy emotions. His hand starts moving in small circles on my back. This time I almost purr.

I have to focus on something else. The carving is beautiful, I’ll inspect it as the guys talk to the youths.

Color pops from the shapes in an amazing array or hues that closely match the planet. The trees are in blue, green, and tan and the body of water near the bottom shimmers like the real thing. The right upper corner has the Zaphin square shaped moon with the purple dot in the center. So life like. I look over to the left corner and see the bright blue ringed sun. The whole carving is utterly amazing.

The guys are pointing out a few weapons at the bottom to Ren and Sar. The carved weapons remind me of how the guys will do anything to protect their people and planet. I’m glad they are on my side.

Since I’m the alien on this planet, I need to remember how fortunate I am to be here. Tairin saved me.

When a sweaty Din Hauk comes over, more lessons are taught to the youths. We start walking as the guys teach.

Excitement is thick in the air. Skyla rubs a hand over her large belly. “I’m getting hungry.”

“I am too.”

Hallie looks at my belly. “I bet you are. Your belly is starting to get bigger. That’s so cute.”

“My dang emotions don’t make me feel very cute,” Skyla grumbles.

“I know what you’re talking about.” I can truly sympathize.

A gust of wind blows Skyla’s hair in her face. She growls as she pushes the dark blonde strands back. She growls again as she adjusts her big boobs. “I didn’t think these things could get any larger. But they have.”

When Din Ryk caresses Skyla’s back she growls and he snarls in response. “I’m sorry,” she says. He nods and starts leading the group toward a vendor.

I lean in to my friends and whisper, “Being aggressive in this crowd when you’re not a warrior is dangerous.”

Skyla nods and drops her shoulders. “I know. But I feel extra irrational right now.”

Hallie points at the vendors we are nearing. “Looks like we are going to get a drink, maybe that will help.”

A frown crinkles Skyla’s forehead. “I hope so. I hate feeling this way.”

Before we make it to the stand, a female warrior steps behind the mewmosian male, whirls him around, and pulls him to her. She kisses him thoroughly before slapping his ass and then stepping back.

Von reaches the stand first. “Din Rema, it’s good to see that you are taking care of your seema.”

Lust fills her silver and blue eyes. “Always. Lusha is worth my attention.”

Din Rema steps out of the stand and starts talking with several of the guys while Din Tairin and Din Ryk order our drinks.

Lusha fills a few shakers and then whistles. Long pointed ears pop into view and then a green and cream cat like animal leaps onto the counter and starts rolling the shakers with his three tails.

“What is he?” Skyla once told me what the animal is but I just can’t remember. I look him over. “He’s adorable.”

Lusha winks at me. “He’s a flurcot.” He raises his brows and his light blue eyes sparkle. “This one likes to put on a show.”

“We have a flurcot that hangs around our home,” Skyla says. “They are interesting for sure.”

The little guy slowly blinks all three of his pale green eyes as he rolls the shakers. I laugh when he pushes the shakers down the counter to Lusha. The maroon skinned male passes two more shakers to the flurcot. I gape as the furry animal stands on one paw and rolls a shaker with the other.

Lusha nods knowingly. “See, he’s a show off.”

Our drinks are passed to us as the flurcot starts dancing.

I take a hardy swig of my drink. It’s cool and delicious. One more thing to love about this planet. I look at Din Tairin and my heart flutters crazily. I wish I didn’t love him so much. He could destroy me.

To distract myself, I watch the flurcot finish making a drink. Once everyone has a drink we thank Lusha and his flurcot and then walk on.

“These are the best,” Skyla says.

“Yes,” Hallie and I say at the same time and then laugh.

As we check out the celebration, Din Von reminds Sar and Ren that Drokty means pride. And that means pride in everything. Even being a proud vendor. We come across two more warriors demonstrating the use of weapons. As the guys get into the fight, I look around and see Skyla looking at the edge of the clearing.

I lean in and ask, “What do you see?”

“Brewbom berries.”

Hallie leans in closer. “Where? Those are so good. They taste sweet with a spicy kick.”

Skyla rubs her big belly. “Let’s go get some.”

I take a step and then look back at Tairin. His gaze is on me. “What are you wanting to do, seema?”

“We’d like to go over there and pick some berries.”

“Okay, but do not go into the jungle. We’ll come get you soon so pick fast.” I don’t miss the warning in his tone.

I feel like growling and slap my hand over my mouth. Approval shines in his eyes. The sight switches on something warm and comforting in me.

I hear the others being cautioned as well and then we are off.

On the way a few birds fly around us singing a sweet song before flying off. I love all of my friends.

Just as we reach our destination a vine snaps out and wraps around Hallie’s wrist. Big multicolored green leaves flutter in the breeze. Hallie touches one lovingly. The plant amazes me when it does that to Hallie.

I lean in closer to Skyla. “What’s that plant called?” I have a terrible memory.

“Hugmar tree. Hallie is lucky. They don’t bond with many people.”

“You guys have bonds here too. Skyla and her flurcot and you with your birds. I think we are all lucky.”

The vine releases Hallie so we move on to the plump red berries. They are just as tasty as they look.

“Dang, these are good,” Skyla says between bites. “I’m always hungry…and grouchy.”

“That’s because the baby is growing so fast and is the child of a warrior,” Hallie adds in.

Skyla shoves another berry into her mouth and devours it. “I know but that doesn’t stop me from growling at Ryk. A part of me feels bad about that but another doesn’t care at all. I’ll be glad when I’m back to normal.”

I pick a few more berries and eat them. The clang of metal keeps us going. The sound is a steady reminder that the guys will be over soon. A dark shadow falls over me. I look over my shoulder and up. Tairin is grinning down at me.

He spins me around and gives me a quick kiss. “Time to go back, little one.”

Skyla picks a few more berries while a patiently waiting Din Zar watches. As we head to the massive group of celebrating people I see a few of the club playthings and smile at them. Clanging draws my attention. Din Soja is fighting Din Lor. The two powerful males put on a good show for the onlookers. Both have grace and beauty just like the other Din warriors I know. They must teach that at an early age.

I can appreciate how sleek and powerful my warrior is. Heat swirls through my core at that thought.

Kay Sing Set comes over swinging her colorful waist length nipple hair. She addresses the guys and then us before she whips out her rope of hair and watches it wrap around Din Von’s thick forearm. He looks at it and the hiropian steps closer. She stares into his eyes. “You fought well Din Von.” She reaches out and caresses his arm. “You are hot.”

Flipping fuck, Kay is bold. Desire pulses through me. The clang and sing of metal fills the air. The youths’ coms beep freeing them to have fun.

The grunts and sounds of battle grow as more warriors go at it. Kay openly flirts with Din Von. Her boldness is impressive. A ripple of need washes over me. I long to push Tairin down, rip his clothes off, and ride him hard. I press my cool drink to my brow and exhale a shaky breath. I can’t show my emotions in this crowd.

I love Tairin too much to dishonor him in public. I’m not a warrior. But I am in love with one.

~ Din Tairin ~

The scent of Kinsey Lea’s lust, aggression, and love fill me up. I take several deep breaths. That last emotion has my chest swelling and vibrating. Each day my seema has crawled a little deeper under my thick warrior skin.

When I sense her holding back another growl, I nuzzle her ear. “I’m proud of you, Kinsey Lea.”
