Avoid wearing tight clothing that restricts circulation.

Do leg inversions as follows: Lie on the floor on your back, placing your feet up onto a chair or couch. Relax in this position for about 15 minutes until the blood has a chance to move in a different direction, improving circulation in your legs.

A weekly soak in a sea-salt bath is also an excellent way to relax and unwind, promoting detoxification and a soft, silky skin. Whichever way you choose to wash, round off with a do-it-yourself massage with either peach kernel or sweet almond oil.

Skin brush. To improve the skin’s job of getting rid of internal rubbish, you can help it by regular body brushing. Brushing the skin not only removes dead skin cells, it stimulates circulation and the lymph glands, which flush out toxins. To skin brush effectively, you need a small, firm natural bristle brush. Brushing is best undertaken just before your bath or shower—on a dry body. Start at the soles of the feet and work your way up the legs in long, brisk strokes; then up the arms and down the back. Always brush upward toward the chest and avoid sensitive spots such as moles, warts, and broken veins. Never use the brush on your face.

Aromatherapy vein massage. Add five drops of lavender oil and five drops of cypress oil to 20 ml of carrier oil such as sweet almond or grapeseed. Gently massage into the legs, massaging upward, toward the heart.

WEAKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM

The immune system specifically refers to the thymus, spleen, lymph, bone marrow, and red blood cells. Obviously, other organs assist in the immune process as well, but these body parts technically establish the “immune system.” A weakened immune system is when you have a poor response to illness, getting one cold after another, always feeling below par. It can be accompanied by apathy and lack of vitality and energy.

Concerns about the immune system are widespread, and rightly so. Poor diet, computer, and cell phone radiations, chemical pollutants, pesticides, extermination fluids, microwaves, ozone depletion, sun-bathing, stress—all these take a toll on our immune functions. The end result: more frequent and more severe colds, flu, allergies, mucus congestion, and the fear of serious disease.

SYMPTOMS

Allergies or food sensitivities.

Feeling very tired all the time.

Frequent colds or flus, more than three a year.

Teethmarks or scalloped edging on the sides of your tongue.

Swollen glands.

Sore throats.

Unexplained weight loss.

Headaches.

Pain under the right rib.

CAUSES MAY INCLUDE

Nutrient deficiencies.

Amalgam dental fillings.

High-sugar diet.

Processed foods.

Smoking.
