Joey thinks this is funny, she laughs
hysterically. "She's so little but I bet you listened to
everything she said and did what you were told."
"I did; out of respect. She was and will
always be wiser than I am. She taught me to see our people’s
side of everything; my opinion was very small in comparison so I
always came around to her way of thinking. She's very
manipulative in her teachings." I say smiling.
Brantley watches Jeremy and Jacob but says,
"That’s what you do for us. CJ is like that too. She
makes us think of the other people and how what we do affects
everyone around us."
"That's why I love her. She is very much
like my people, taking care and building up the young while
teaching and protecting them until they can protect themselves and
others." I hold her hand. She just smiles at me.
I can't wait to give her the ring I have in my pocket.
Christian told me she says yes. I had to tell him that he
should have let me sweat. He smiled at me telling me I would
but not today. I could only laugh. Fuckin kids.
Now I know why the MC always says that.
Christian comes for the kids. He smiles at
me telling me Nunánuk said to take a walk. I laugh and watch
the kids go up the path. "Let's take a walk." CJ says
laughing pulling me down the path. I show her the break in
the trees and walk toward the lake. "How pretty." We
walk to a rock out cropping; it's like a small dock. I put
the ring under my leg and pull her to my lap. "I love
it. I would have loved growing up here."
"You would have, you learned all you needed but
the backdrop was wrong. I'd like to make it better."
She looks at me. "I love you CJ, for today and all our
tomorrows. I want to claim you as mine for everyone to
see. I would be proud to be your husband." I open the
box and show her the ring. "Will you marry me CJ?"
She has tears running down her cheeks.
"You are absolutely crazy; I may be a horrible person." I
laugh. "Yes, I'm not letting you get away, so I have to marry
you. It's a beautiful ring." I slide it on her finger
and she kisses me. Fuck I'm hard. She pulls away
laughing. "I love you Cloud. I'll never forget this
day, a week and two days after I met you." We laugh calming
my hard on. She's so fuckin cute.
We talk about all the things we should have
before. I stand hearing grandmother calling us. "The
best part of living here is the land carries sound. She can
call me and no matter where I was I could hear." We walk back
to my smiling family all on the porch waiting.
I don't make them wait, "She said yes."
They all cheer.
"You all knew and no one told me?" She
says smiling.
"It's not good to share everything CJ. You
told me not to say anything if I wasn't going to tell you
everything." Christian tells her.
"Friggin kids." She mutters then laughs.
Grandmother comes to CJ holding her face she
kisses each cheek. "Now you call me Nunánuk."
"Yes Nunánuk." CJ says smiling. "I
haven't had a family in a long time. It feels nice." I
see the tears in her eyes and hug her close thinking I need to
remind her every day that she has family."
After a full day of meeting friends and
relatives coming to say congratulations we get the kids home
exhausted again. I smile, we're going to wear them out, I
thought it would be the other way around.
We get everyone showered and in bed and meet in
the kitchen. She hands me a beer and pours a glass of
wine. I saw a glass the first time I did a walk through but
have never seen her drink one. She notices me watching.
"Usually I have one every Sunday night to remind me I like it
but also that I'm a grown up. Sometimes I have one because
it's been a day from hell. I had one the day we met but the
real hell didn't happen until later." She smiles.
"What happened that day?" I'm curious.
"The dryer broke, one of the girls in the other
house was caught with a joint at school, Christian was acting
weird, antsy, but couldn't tell me why, and Jeremy was clinging to
me as I was trying to hang out the clothes; not an easy feat."
She walks to me and sits on my lap.
"That was a hell of a day then we made it all
better."
She laughs, "Yeah, actually you did."
I lift her telling her to take her glass.
Putting her on the chair in the bathroom I fill the tub and add the
fish gravel looking stuff. It smells vanilla, I'm glad it's
not flowers. I undress her and put her in the tub.
Handing her a glass of wine I find her MP3 player and hit her
favorites. I leave it on the counter playing softly.
"I'll be back to wash you." She moans, smiles and sinks
down in the water, I leave chuckling.
I pull the bag Nunánuk gave me with the special
beads from my pocket. I’ll finish the dreamcatchers later. Pulling
my laptop I get the email from Danny with the house plans, he added
a note that Chris is sending a crew in the morning and will be out
before the kids get home from the Kids Center. They'll follow
that schedule until it's done and he'll do regular checks. I
send him payment for the job and open my mail from Geek. Mo
won't be coming back. I smile, Steve made sure of that.
The kids’ parents are not going to challenge the court for the
adoptions. Driscoll and Bull will get the signatures needed
tomorrow. Fuck that's a scary pair to send, I smile.
Whatever it takes.
I open Jamie's last. I told him what
happened with Christian. He didn't say much but wasn't pissed
either. I always know even though he doesn't let it show, I
can feel it. He wants to wait until Christian learns some
control then he'll talk to him. He warns me about blocking
him and teaching CJ how to block as well. I nod as if he can
see me. I have a flight at eight tomorrow so I finish
checking my email, nothing pressing. I close it up and get to
making my girl dirty so I can wash her.

Cloud comes in and undresses. I watch
every move, my whole body is tingling. He's friggin
beautiful; he should have been a model. Fuck no he shouldn't,
he's all mine to see. I smile remembering the rock above the
water. He loves me, I think while looking at my ring.
He climbs in behind me letting some water out so
we don't have to clean the floor. His hands skim my nipples
sliding to my pussy. "Yes." I say softly. I lean
my head back. "Can I ride you this time?" He growls and
spins me around so damn fast I'm a little dizzy. "You like
that?"
"Any way I can get you babe." He says
sliding down and lifting me up.
I hold him as he slides me down onto him.
Holy fuck he fills me up making me moan. "That fees so damn
good."
He holds me up and watches my face. I lean
in and kiss him. Using my knees I start moving. He
pushes my body back and I go deeper. Holy shit it feels
good. He has a hand on my nipple and his fingers on my
pussy. My hands skate across his shoulders into his hair then
back to his shoulders. He moves his hands to my ass and helps
lift me. I miss the hand at my nipple so I move my hand there
and squeeze making him moan. He slams me onto him over and
over until I’m friggin shaking. His mouth finds my nipple and
he sucks hard. Holy fuck my body explodes. I lose
myself for a minute and feel his chest heaving under me. Wow
that was friggin unbelievable. I hope it’s always like
this. He’s got his face in my hair and arms wrapped around me
holding me to him as if I was going to move away. I don’t
think I can even move my head to look at him. Friggin
unbelievable.
“Love you little red.” He whispers taking
a deep breath. I make a noise and feel his chest
rumble. I guess that’s a laugh when you’re spent. “You
pull everything out of me baby. You get it all. I love
that.” I make noise again and turn my head to kiss his
neck. He loosens his arms and slides his hands down my
back. “Let me clean you up now that I made you dirty.”
I push up and hold my hand on his chest for balance. He
chuckles, “You’re well done babe. I’ll make this
quick.”
I nod. “I love you Cloud.” Tumbles
out of my mouth. He lifts me off him and grabs the
cloth. Once I’m washed he dries me and pulls a t shirt over
my head. I’m asleep before he makes it into bed.

Brenda is here helping keep the kids out of the
guys’ way. For the most part they stay in the back.
Kate is helping her with the toddlers. Aleena is in the
kitchen doing cleanup and helping keep the bowls full. Jess
is helping me get lunch set out for the guys. Tiny (a huge
tattooed and pierced man) is manning the grill. He's my new
best friend, so he tells me; I won't tell him but he's kind of
growing on me. His wife Nancy is setting drinks in big
galvanized buckets with ice.
I love how everyone pitches in. They're
like a big family. They didn't bring Prospects because they
didn't have CORY's done on them. The Baxter's have guys here
too; Jake, Chase, Paul, and Beau are here. Paul's son Will is
here helping clean up anything that falls, he's autistic and
determined to help. I've seen the guys pitch things to the
ground to keep him busy. They're all huge men but have hearts
of gold.
The windows and patio was finished on Thursday,
today they're finishing the garage. We set a table in the
breezeway to hold all the food. It's a lot of food.
Tiny tells me they're big guys; I guess that means they'll eat all
of it. He has the last of the meat on the grill so we make
one more round filling everything up. I meet Jess, Nancy and
Aleena in the kitchen for a drink before we head out the back.
“Hey how did the testing go with Jeremy?” I tell her it
will be a couple of weeks before we get the results.
She nods following us out. "I'm glad lunch
is done." Aleena says.
Jess laughs, "I hope they finish before dinner."
Nancy agrees.
I walk out the back to the patio; I admire it as
I walk through to the back porch where Kate and the little ones
are. "That was fast." We laugh; we just spent close to
two hours getting food to the kids then the men.
"We refilled the last of the food for when Tiny
finishes the meat. We're done with our part until we need to
clean it up. By then it will be time for dinner." Jess
tells her smiling. I love how they all are happy and don't
complain about what needs to be done. This isn't even one of
their houses.
"So when are you coming by my shop to pick out
some clothes CJ?" Nancy asks.
I look at her confused. "You have a shop?"
They laugh reminding me of the credit I have there.
"We need to do a shopping. She’s obviously
shopping handicapped." Kate says.
Jess rubs her hands together, "no margaritas
though, strawberry daiquiris this time."
"With the ice!" Nancy says, they
laugh. She tells me about them being drunk in Tess' closet
because they forgot the crushed ice. I'm wondering how it
tasted without the ice, that must have been sweet as hell.
They're funny though.
"How about next Saturday, you have to bring Joey
with you." Kate says.
"Ok, I'll get Brenda scheduled with the boys."
I'm getting excited now. I haven't been shopping in
forever. Luckily my clothes are mostly casual wear.
"It's settled. We'll bring Ally and the
girls can do a little shopping of their own. We have some
gift cards they can use and learn about spending as they do."
Jess says.
Kate rolls her eyes, "Every time it's a lesson
with you." She laughs. "She's been like this since I've
known her. She handles everything that is money related."
"I heard about her spreadsheets and how I better
have receipts to go on them." I tell them. They all nod
their heads so serious. I can't help but laugh. Kate
and Nancy start laughing too. Jess smiles and waves them
away. "I've also heard you are the baker to see when I'm in
need of a sugar rush. They all start talking about their
favorite pastry and cakes. I smile; they love each other like
sisters.
I stand and look for my kids. "Brenda, do
you have a head count?" She goes from house to house then the
basketball court. "We're missing one of yours and one of
Kate's."
"I'll check the front and house." She nods
going to count again.
"They're probably in front with the guys."
Kate says.
Christian runs to me. "It's Taylor.
It's what I didn't understand." He has tears in his eyes.
Kate gets up and comes to him. "Go through
the house. Jess, check the front. Nancy can you watch
the little ones?" She brings Christian to the patio. I
walk through fast but hear her ask if it was a vision. He
says it was. Fuck!
I run up the stairs. He’s not in any of the
upstairs rooms. Going down the back stairs I see Victor walking
through the kitchen. "Did you see Taylor?" He asks
me.
"No, let Brenda know where you are and I'll
check the rest of the house." I walk out to Danny.
"Danny, Taylor is missing; I need to check the safe rooms but I
don't know where they all are. He jogs in the house and goes
from room to room. Cloud has the guys check the yard and
around the fence. The kids check all the trees and houses
again. I call down to Tony, Brantley's friend, they haven't
seen him. Oh shit. Cloud comes in looking for
Christian. We’ll find him, Kate and Steve on the patio.
Steve looks at Cloud. "He's in the
reservation. Heard someone talkin about Rob not welcome
here. Used his last name; Taylor. Didn't understand,
thinks you don't want him. Meets up with older kids, gets
hurt in a quarry, they leave scared. It's at dark."
