He slid his finger out, replacing it with his tongue while working her throbbing bud with his thumb. She squirmed restlessly while the warm metal barbell of his tongue piercing caressed places she never knew existed, all while her orgasm inched closer. In between moans, she begged him for her release.

“Avery, please! Oh my, yes! Fuck! Don’t stop!” Her words turned him on and encouraged him to continue till she was screaming his name, edging toward her climax. Her body started tensing as she brought her free hands up to her hard nipples, rolling each in her fingers and bucking against Avery’s mouth.

“Oh, fuck! I’m gonna come,” she groaned as his teeth gently nibbled at her clit, sending her over the edge. As she found her release, he continued as his face broke into a grin.
God, she is hot.

She stilled under his touch, recovering from the explosive orgasm she’d just been so generously given, gasping for air with a glowing sheen glistening over her almost naked body.

As Avery reluctantly rose from between her beautiful legs, their eyes connected in an unspoken agreement. There was no stopping. He leaned in, taking Emily’s lips once again. Her taste was fresh and intoxicating on his mouth, turning her on even more than he already had.

While she enjoyed her juices on his lips, she carefully rolled him onto his back, taking control. Breaking their kiss for only a moment, she pulled her misplaced nightgown over her head, displaying her naked body for him to see, while she straddled his lap.

She moved her lips down his body, inch by inch savoring his intoxicating scent—a mixture of manly body wash and cologne. Whatever he wore, it smelled divine. Her kisses gradually became licks until she hit the impressive V cut, partially hidden by his dark green boxers.

Running her manicured fingers under the waistband of the cloth, he lifted his ass to help her slide them down, freeing his bobbing erection. As it came into view, Emily let out a little gasp, taking in the impressive length and girth.
That will never fit inside me!

Looking up to meet Avery’s eyes, she licked her bottom lip and trailed her tongue along the swollen head of his dick. Starting slowly with little teases from her lips, while her hand gripped the base, she worked his hard shaft with both her mouth and soft hands. Avery’s hands ran through Emily’s hair, gently tugging as she took his whole length into the back of her throat. At this pace, he would never last. His deep throaty moans warned her of his impending orgasm, only encouraging her to work his dick harder.

“Oh, baby. Shit! I am gonna come,” he repeated her own words from earlier in the evening as his body stiffened and Emily worked his release. With a deep moan, he emptied everything he had into her waiting mouth while she swallowed every drop with pleasure.

Releasing his semi-hard erection from her grip, she peered up at him with half-lidded eyes filled with lust and desire. Running her tongue across her lips once more, she shifted back up his sweating body, only stopping once she was wrapped in his strong arms.

“My God. You are amazing, Emily,” he spoke with such devotion, never breaking their gaze while working his fingers through her hair and down her flushed cheek. He nudged her closer so he could take her mouth once more before rolling back on top of her.

Their lips slowly parted as they looked into each other’s eyes, wondering who was going to break the silence. Both exhibited extreme self-control, just lying naked in the other’s arms. Before either could make another move, Avery spoke, “I want to. God, I do. But we can’t.” She saw a look of frustration flash through his eyes. She was so drunk in the moment, she couldn’t realize what was happening exactly.

“Why, Avery?” she asked, before leaning in for another hungry kiss.

“It’s too soon. Shit. I want you so bad. But I don’t want anything to get awkward between us.”

His honesty shocked her. Emily’s mind removed herself from the situation and firmly planted itself into her deep thoughts. As much as she wanted to feel him inside of her, deep and rough, he was right to stop where they were. She didn’t want anything to change between them. Everything was just too perfect. In every way possible, Avery was absolutely perfect for her. Even though she wanted to take him, over and over again all night, settling for sleeping in his arms was just as good. “You are way too perfect, Avery. Are you real?” she questioned as he ran his knuckles down her cheek and kissed a trail down to her neck. With small nibbles and licks, he slowly sucked, leaving her with a small mark, branding her as his for all to see.

“I’m going to get another nightgown and hit the bathroom, then come back to bed. Boxers...dear Lord Jesus...put on some boxers before I come back.” Emily entered her bathroom, closing the door behind her and sliding down to sit on the floor with her back resting against the door.
Could he be any more fucking perfect?

Avery found his boxers at the end of the bed, slowly sliding them back on, making his way under the covers once again. He lay, watching television and waiting for her to exit the bathroom. Would she ask him to leave when she was done? Did she still want him to spend the night with her, even after they crossed that invisible line in the sand?

Emily walked out of the bathroom with a brand new nightgown on, her hair hanging wildly around her chin, and the brightest smile on her face he’d ever seen. She was absolutely glowing, and he knew the answer to his questions before she even crawled back into bed with him. He would be spending the night with this amazing woman, exactly what he wanted to do from the moment he met her.

Sleep came quickly to the exhausted couple as they drifted off to the sounds of
The Princess Bride
. Since her car accident, Emily had found a good night’s sleep to be few and far between. Some nights she tossed and turned, while other nights she would awaken to dreams of her crushed car and the loss of her parents. The incidents had no connection, but her wild imagination always pieced it together. But snuggled against the warm, welcoming chest of Avery, she had the most peaceful night of slumber. Her eyes only peered open when the sunlight of the new day’s sunrise started to play peek-a-boo with her plush bedroom curtains.

She slowly stirred, quickly remembering his presence when his arm slid around her and pulled her closer before whispering, “good morning,” into her ear. He nuzzled his lips against her neck, placing several chaste kisses from her collarbone to her cheek. Emily rolled over, eyeing her visitor and the clock on her nightstand behind his head. Before she could say a word, she pulled the thin cream colored bed sheet up to her mouth while letting out a laugh. “I think I’m going to go brush my teeth before I do anything else.”

He followed suit, pulling the sheet up to his own mouth with a laugh. “When you’re done, can I use your tooth brush? I feel gross.” Avery eyed her plump cheeks peeking out from behind the sheet, which only meant one thing, her million dollar smile was shining, and he couldn’t wait to see it. She pulled the sheet down and hurried into the bathroom. He listened to the quiet water run as the sounds of brushing filled the room. She exited the bathroom with a long silk ocean blue robe on and her toothbrush in her hand. She waved it at Avery with a smile on her face.

“Your turn, buddy.” She handed it over as he made his way to the sink. “I’ll be in the kitchen. Coffee?” she asked while walking out of her bedroom door. Avery answered just loud enough for her to hear as she rounded the kitchen counter.

She pulled out her favorite tumbler and rummaged through her K-Cups, looking for her favorite French vanilla flavor, before popping it into the top of the machine. Before she could flip the coffeemaker on, her doorbell rang. Once again she looked at the clock to realize it wasn’t as ungodly of an hour as she originally thought. Quarter to ten to be exact. She made her way to the foyer as she heard Avery close the bathroom door, finished with his shower.

Avery’s curiosity piqued. As soon as her doorbell rang, he was intrigued, hurrying his naked feet down the hallway and planting himself at her breakfast bar in his boxers, a perfect vantage point to see whoever was paying her a visit this morning.

As the door opened, his eyes fell on another man. Not only was he tall, dark and handsome, but he also knew him from someplace else. The hospital, in fact. This dude was one of the emergency room doctors. His protective instincts kicked in when he heard Emily let out a gasp.

“Jared? Why are you here?” Emily asked with a defensive tone. As he memories slowly returned, she knew exactly why she wanted nothing to do with him, at all. Avery couldn’t help himself; he was like a dog that needed to piss on something to mark his territory. He had spent an amazing night with Emily and this is what he had to deal with the next morning?
Bullshit!

“Is everything okay, Baby?” Avery rounded the corner and Jared’s eyes went wide with shock. Emily turned to the kitchen, catching Avery’s gorgeous, boxer clad body on display and a small smirk landed on her lips.

“Yes, Avery. I’ll be there in a minute. Dr. Hart was just leaving.” Before Jared could get in a word, she was starting to close the door. But before it could meet the door frame, his fancy Italian dress shoe blocked the way.

“Emily, what’s going on here?” Jared’s tone was brash. She could feel her temper rising as this man whom she’d had no contact with for damn near two years was trying to barge into her home. Not only was he not welcome, but the whole situation was beyond strange.

“Jared, I think it’s time you left. Nothing here concerns you anymore. There hasn’t been anything between us for two fucking years. TWO YEARS!” As she spoke, her tone continued to rise. Avery watched from the kitchen, far enough to stay out of the altercation, but close enough to step in if he needed to. “Just because you saw me at the hospital doesn’t mean you can force your way back into my life. We’ve been over for a long time. Now please, fuck off! If you come back to my apartment I will call the police. Don’t fucking test me! I am not the meek pushover you used to know.”

He stood in the doorway with a look of shock on his face. She had stood up to him, something she’d never done before. When Emily said she wasn’t the girl he used to know, she was beyond right. His hurt and betrayal changed her life years ago. It turned out for the best, but that didn’t excuse his stupid ass behavior. He slowly removed his shoe from the door, and she slammed it shut.

As her pulse started to finally calm down, she remembered Avery was just a few feet away watching the show. She was embarrassed he had witnessed all of that. Surely now he would run in the opposite direction. “I’m sorry about that.” She walked toward the coffee maker, pushing the button to kick on the brewing. Her fingers ran through her hair as she looked down at the counter, doing everything in her power to avoid eye contact with Avery. Before she could look up, she could feel his arms around her. His embrace expressed more than any words could.

“It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault, Emily.” He brushed a kiss onto her cheek before parting from her body and searching through the K-Cups himself. Pulling out a bold dark roast, he grabbed the waiting mug and made his way to the maker.

Her mind slowly flashed to Jared being inside her apartment, like she was watching a silent film in her own head. She froze her movements and stared at the kitchen counter. Images of Jared making love to her on the counter flooded her mind. Turning to look away as the images became far too real for her liking, she could see him sitting on her couch watching a movie. Everywhere she looked, images of their time together broke through the floodgates. Sex, movies, intimate moments, playing games, creating memories...everywhere she looked Jared stared back at her. Finishing with the image of his back, walking away from her the day after her parents died. He couldn’t even look her in the eye. He’d left as though she meant nothing to him after spending years together.

“Are you okay, Emily?” Avery’s question stunned her and snapped her back to the present. She was finally able to place Jared, and it made her blood boil. How dare he come back to her now, like this? Why couldn’t he just leave her be so she could move on with her life? Desperate not to ruin anything with Avery, she needed to lift this newfound weight off her chest.

“Avery, I feel like I need to explain this a little more.” Emily knew if she didn’t get everything out in the open now, it would only come to bite her in the ass later. That’s what always happened. He turned in her direction, handing her the tumbler of coffee with a smile. He clearly wasn’t mad, or upset. He looked like he was going to trample Jared a few moments ago and now he was all sunshine and kittens.

“You really don’t, but I won’t stop you if you have something you want to share, love.” His smile beamed, and she only then remembered they hadn’t kissed yet this morning, despite having taken the time to freshen their mouths.

Emily paced across the kitchen, running her soft manicured fingers up his chest, taking his chin in her hands and planting a passionate kiss on his lips. Her tongue did all the speaking either of them needed. Their intense hunger for contact, overpowered her need to explain Jared as they made out like teens in her kitchen.

When their kiss finally came to an end minutes later, she let out a small laugh. “Now that we have that out of the way, let me spill.” He looked at her with disbelief.
She still wants to talk? Damn it.

“Jared and I were together for a long time. We probably would have been married today.” She was clearly uncomfortable but she continued, “When my parents died, he walked out on me with no explanation. I don’t think I ever dealt with the break-up because I was too wrapped up in the loss of both of my parents. My world essentially had fallen apart.” She let out a deep breath and ran her fingers through her hair once again. “I didn’t see him for two years, until you brought me into the ER the day of my accident. Apparently, he was the on-call emergency room doctor.”

Everything clicked in Avery’s mind. “I knew he looked familiar,” he mentioned while Emily finally brought herself to make eye contact with him.

“I had no idea who he was,” she continued without breaking their gaze. “The same night you brought me dinner, he came to visit me, but I didn’t recognize him. The memory loss was still so fresh and I guess my brain really wanted to block him out.” She let out a chuckle. “I don’t blame my poor brain, though. I was pretty miserable with him for a while anyway, but I stayed because everyone loved him; including my parents. But when he came to the hospital, I was creeped out and asked him to leave. Twice since, he’s shown up here trying to talk to me. I’ve asked him to leave both times. I don’t have anything to say to him. I don’t know his game, but it’s been two fucking years. What does he want from me?” She let out another deep breath and sat down on a bar stool, taking a big sip of her coffee.

“Don’t sweat it, Emily. Stick to your guns and if he comes back, call the cops. No biggie. Now come here.” He pushed away from the kitchen counter he’d been leaning against, making his way around it to the bar stool she was perched on. He wrapped his arms around her, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

“What’s done, is done. It’s the past. Why don’t we just worry about the future? Our future.” His words vibrated through her body, as she struggled to believe that the man standing in front of her was actually real. “But if I ever catch him here again, I’ll probably punch him in the face.” He struggled with a laugh.

She couldn’t help but smile and let out a laugh of her own. Emily barely knew him, but she was starting to understand one thing—she was falling for this beautiful stranger.

“So let me get this all straight...” Becca chomped down on a bite of her deli sandwich. “He just showed up at your apartment, and Avery was in his underwear in the kitchen watching the whole thing?” She continued chewing while Emily put her Jersey Mike’s Sub down and took a sip of her Pepsi. “Yeah, he just keeps popping up at my apartment. He was pissed when he saw Avery.”
