geometric microliths
[Ar].
Small blade tools of geometric form usually having a point or transverse edge. Almost certainly hafted, possibly forming composite tools and weapons. Characteristic of the Mesolithic but they do begin to appear by the end of the Upper Palaeolithic.
Geometric period
[CP].
The post-Mycenaean period when, with the Dorian invasions, the Iron Age was fully established throughout Greece and the country had settled again after a period of turmoil and population movement. A sub-Mycenaean, followed by a proto-Geometric period, is transitional to the Geometric period proper, which in Athens runs from about 900 bc to 700 bc. The period is characterized by its well-shaped pottery, later incorporating animal and human figures.

Born 1660, son of Sophia (daughter of Frederick , elector palatine, and Elizabeth Stuart , daughter of James I) and Ernest Augustus , elector of Hanover. Married Sophia Dorothea , daughter of George William , duke of Lüneburg-Celle. Died ad 1727, aged 67, having reigned twelve years.

British monarch from ad 1727, of the House of Hanover. Born 1683, son of George I. Married Caroline , daughter of John Frederick , margrave of Brandenburg-Anspach. Died ad 1760, aged 76, having reigned 33 years.
