“Time to talk,” he announced, his fingers stopping but not leaving my skin.

I didn’t bother to contain the sigh, and I looked away from him, preparingfor the worst eventhoughmybodystillthrummed. “Hey,”he said, movinghis hand to mychinand forcingmyface back to his. “What’s wrong?”

I quickly debated telling him the truth or lying. “I’m afraid you’re going to say how wrong this is, that we can’t do it again, and….” I divulged.

“And what?”

The room was almost completely black, except for the moonlight streaming through the windows on the far wall, but I could see the emotioninhis eyes and everyline carved onhis face.

“I’mnot sure I cantake that,”I finallyanswered.

He sighed, his eyes closing as he breathed out, but opening before he spoke. “Part of me wants to say all those things—” I went to interrupt him, but he quickly put a finger on my lips. “Let me finish.” I nodded and attempted to wait patiently, but mythunderingheart belied anypretense of a calm demeanor. “Part of me wants to say all those things, but then… then there’s a part of me that wants to throw reason out the fucking window and enjoythe wayyoumake me feel. Evenifonlytemporarily.”

My heart still pounded but for an entirely different reason. “Temporarily?”

His brow furrowed even as he tried to rub away the crease my own knitted brow made. “You’re goingback to schoolinSeptember.” “I told you I was dropping out.” I reminded himof the conversation we’d had myfirst week there.

“Youcan’t, Elijah.”

“Why not? I don’t belong there.” I continued before he could stop me, “Besides, I want to stayhere.”

The worry cleared fromhis face slightly, and he leaned forward and swept his lips over mine, his thumb grazing along my jaw. He didn’t say yes or no, but he just kissed me, feeding my hope. When he pulled away, he kept the smallsmile onhis face and tranquilblue eyes met mine.

“You’re beautiful,”he whispered.

Immediately my cheeks flushed, giving away my embarrassment at the openness ofhis compliment.

“So are you,” I returned, and the corner of his lips turned up in the lopsided smile I’d onlyseena handfuloftimes.

“I’mold.”

“No, you’re not,”I argued without hesitation, and then asked, “How old are you?”

He laughed, full and hearty, shaking us with it, and it was the most beautifulsound I’d ever heard. “Old enoughto know this is wrong.”
With his words, his guilt had returned after only a few brief moments without it. Before I could speak, his thumb returned to my lower lip, draggingover it. His eyes hungrilyfollowed the movement. The muscles of his back quivered when my hand skimmed over them. We were touching from shoulders to feet and it still wasn’t enough for me. Desperately, I wanted to ask himifI could spend the night inhis bed. I wanted to feelhis warmth next to me. I wanted to be able to reach out and touch himat any time.
“Do youwant me to leave?”I offered softly, and his thumb stopped.
It would kill me to leave his bed and go to mine alone, but I would rather do that thanwake up to find himgone. I couldn’t face that again.
“No,”he replied just as softly, his finger resuming.
I asked a more difficult question. “Are yougoingto stay?”
His finger stopped again, and I saw the movement of his Adam’s apple when he swallowed. The room seemed darker than before, and I couldn’t see the conflict I knew was raginginhis eyes. His silence worried me, and I lifted my hand, pushing his hair off his forehead and running my fingers throughthe rest.
“Yes.”
My grin was impossible to stop, but it didn’t matter. I was sure he’d seenthe reliefinmyeyes. “Should we washup?”
He laid his head onmychest, his ear right over myheart, and draped anarmaround mymiddle. “It canwait untilmorning,”he said sleepily.
Secure in his embrace, my hand resting on his lower back, I concentrated on the facets of color in his golden blond hair in the glow of the moonuntilmyeyes refused to remainopenanylonger. There were still things that needed to be discussed, but there was plenty oftime to tellhim I wasn’t goingback to college.
“Night, Chase,”I slurred right before slumber claimed me.

Chapter 7

I
WOKE
to damp kisses trailing down the knots of my spine, full lips pressing against scorching skin every few inches. Trembling, I kept my eyes closed, suddenly highly tuned to the sensations around me. In my sleep, I’d flipped onto my stomach, my arms folded under the feather pillow my head was on. I could feel cotton sheets under me and the draft coming in through the open window, but the best sensation of all was his skinwillinglyagainst mine.

He’d stayed, just like he said he would.

When I couldn’t help but respond, and he knew I was awake, he eased on top of me. Wedging my legs apart with his, his erection nestled in the crease of my ass, like it belonged nowhere else, and he settled his weight onme, his chest to myback, his lips at myear.

“Need youright now, Elijah,”he said ina sultryvoice.

Even in my inexperience, I could hear the greed dripping off each of his words. I had no idea what time it wasChase had no need for a clock or alarmin his roombut the time wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Any tiredness would be worth it. Instead of replying, I arched my back and lifted myass, invitinghiminside.

“Mmm,”he moaned whenhis cock poked myentrance.

Placing one last kiss on my back, he searched for the bottle of lube. Opening my eyes, I watched with sleepy vision as he drizzled some fluid on his fingers before setting down the bottle. Preparing for what was next, I spread my legs farther apart and waited for his fingers to explore me, purring when one slipped inside. It wasn’t long before he was adding a second and I was pushing against them, wanting more. When I began steadily pleading for him, he removed his fingers and extended an armfor the lube again. Taking the bottle with him, he rose to his knees, poured lube on his cock and spread it around, pulling back his foreskin to expose the shiny head beading with precome. When my eyes drifted up his body to his face, I saw a raw need inhis eyes.

“Chase,”I pleaded.

Already knowing what I needed, he fell flat on me again, lining his cock up at my hole and penetrating me. The initial rush of pain quickly subsided into feeling full. He halted, running his hands up my sides to my arms. Pulling the pillow out from under my head, he shoved it aside and continued to skim his hands along my arms until his fingers threaded with mine.

“More,”I implored.

He obliged and rocked his hips forward, forcing himself past the resistant muscle and deep inside me. “Fuck,” he said breathlessly. The control he always had slipped from his grasp when it came to making love, and it was thrillingto know he wanted me so much.

Lips skittered across my shoulders, pausing to nudge my hair out of the way before his tongue lapped the beads of sweat gathered there as he began to move. His weight kept me pressed to the mattress, but I was able to lift my hips to meet his. Up until then, every time we’d been together, I’d been on my back facing him, able to see his expressions. I thought not being able to see him would make it less personal, but as he moved over me, I realized I didn’t need to see his face to know how he felt. It was inthe wayhe held myhands and spoke inmyear.

His cock slid in and out of me as I attempted to move against his weight. I felt every ridge along his length as he moved with a deliberate restrained pace. Caught between my body and the twisted sheets beneath me, my cock throbbed, and I was torn between grinding it into the mattress and thrusting back to meet Chase’s hips. Frustration masked as pleasure filled me and I growled.

“Tellme what youwant,”Chase grunted.

“I want you to fuck me,” I said, a blush tainting my cheeks. It was the first time I’d said fuck and not make love.

He groaned in reply, and before I could be more embarrassed, he lifted himself off me. Gripping my hips, he jerked them up, pulling me off the bed until I was on all fours. He ran a hand down the curve of my back, stopping at the dip right before my ass. Keeping his hand there while holding my hips firmly to him, he started pumping in and out of me hard and fast. Between my legs, my cock swayed from the motion and fluid seeped liberallyfromthe slit ina thinstringtoward the bed.

“Touchyourself,”he demanded.

Bracing myself on one hand, I reached for my dick, wrapping my hand around it and immediately pulling in hard drags frombase to tip. The position, himfucking me frombehind as I touched myself, felt so deviant, addinga new levelto the pleasure I alreadyfelt.

“Feelgood?”

“Gonna come,” I cried out hoarsely, my hand quickening to match his relentless pace.

My balls drew up, and I felt my orgasm bearing down on me. Throughlabored breaths, I chanted his name as mycock shot warmcome onto his mattress. His hand moved up my back, coming to rest on my shoulder as he waited for my climax to ease before he began moving again. The muscles of my ass clamped around his length, and he tensed at the pressure. I was still milking my cock when he folded his body over mine, wrappinganarmaround mymiddle and slappinghis hips to me.

While the crashes were subsiding in my body, his own rushed through him. Swelling inside me, his cock released in short, strong bursts. Even before he pulled out, I could feel his excitement leaking from me. Releasing my cock, I let it fall heavy from my hand and searched for Chase’s hand, entwining our fingers. We fell onto the bed on our sides, and I drew him to me for a gentle kiss. I’d enjoyed the new position; it allowed a different angle for himto penetrate, but I’d missed beingable to kiss him at will. Our bodies were glued together, our legs tangled in an effort to get as close as possible. Tongues met and clashed, lips nipped and parted, and hearts pounded and calmed together.

It seemed hours later when he finally broke the kiss, glancing over my shoulder to the window. At some point, the room had lightened with the new dawn.
“Horses,”he reminded me withjust one word, and I sighed.

“What’s wrong?” He studied me, his eyes searching mine for the answer.

“I’m afraid once we leave the room things will change,” I said honestly. I feared leaving the bedroom would mean the end of us. I was worried once he stepped outside his room, the guilt over what had happened would reemerge. The roomwas a sanctuary, and I didn’t want to leave it.

He frowned, as if the thought had already occurred to him. After a few long seconds, he shook his head. “Elijah, I’mnot going to lie and say this is,” he motioned between us, “easy for me. It’s not, but I also know I can’t fight it anymore. I don’t want to try to fight it anymore. I will try to remember that when we’re out there, but I ask that you be patient with me.”

“I cando that,”I agreed.

“Thank you.” He kissed me one last time before shifting onto his back. “We need to take care of the horses,” he said and climbed out of bed.

Chase walked away, the same way he always did, only he was naked. Reaching his dresser, he cast me an amused look over his shoulder. He knew exactly where my eyes had been. Scrambling out of bed, I ranto myroomto get dressed. Ignoringthe pleasurable soreness in mybody, I pulled onthe first pair ofunderwear, jeans, and T-shirt I found in my drawer. Dashing into the bathroom, I brushed my teeth and then returned to Chase’s room for my sneakers. After I ran down the stairs, skipping the last few steps, I sprinted out the door and across the driveway. The bounce in my step more than made up for the achiness I felt.

“Morning,” I called to the horses when I entered the barn to a chorus of whinnies and stamping hooves. Keno raised his head, restlessly shakingit. “Okay, okay, breakfast time.”

I went into the feed room and began to measure out the grain, delivering it to each horse before trotting upstairs to toss down a bale of hay, watching it land with a soft thud on the floor. Reaching the bottom, I walked down the aisle to the hay feeling different. It wasn’t a feeling I could pinpoint or define. There was an unsettling feeling, as well as a burgeoning excitement, growing inside me. I already recognized the signs ofmylove for him, and after the night before, theyhad onlyintensified.

I gave hay to the horses before leading Keno to the pasture. When I walked back into the barn, Chase entered at the other end. I had to squash the urge to tackle himto the ground and beg himto take me again. I settled for a bashful smile when my eyes settled on his hips, recalling the way they’d felt between my legs only an hour earlier. I stopped, and my breathcaught inmythroat as he neared me.

He was dressed in a blue button-down with a few buttons undone and the sleeves rolled to his elbows. His dark hat sat low on his head, hiding his face until he was in front me. Lifting his chin, he stepped by me, gracing me with a sexy wink and teasing chuckle. I moved to Jet’s stall and opened the door, trying not look at Chase as he opened Admiral’s door and began talking to himin a low voice. I couldn’t hear what he was saying, but imagined he was apologizing for the night before and not riding out to the grave. He ran a hand down the sleek neck before leading him outside. Watching Chase leave, I hoped the guilt wasn’t already metastasizinginside him.

With Jet by my side, I followed Chase, eyeing the way he walked and carried himself, trying to read his emotions from his stance. I was relieved when he opened the gate and turned slightly, giving me a glimpse of his relaxed face. Then he held the gate for me to lead Jet through. I released the chestnut horse and waited while Chase closed and locked the gate. We walked into the barn side by side, a few feet from each other, but I could stillfeelhis heat.
