“If you don’t want his ‘Screaming Orgasm’, Lex, I will take
it!” Steph was already into her ‘Beautiful Lady’ and now eyeing mine.

“Oh, no, Hun. I’ll have all his ‘Screaming Orgasms’,
thanks.” I skulled my drink.

“So, Lex, are you going to fill us in?” Lil was waiting
patiently for my response, Steph put her drink down, and Jade dropped the menu.
I looked at Tash and she shrugged her shoulders, then taking a breath, I let it
out in one fell swoop.

“Okay. Got back from our weekend. Rick said he had an
affair. Went and fucked Bryce for a week. Rick came to hotel and said he had lied
about the affair. I asked him why? He said Bryce paid him five million dollars
to spend a week with me. So, the long story short—I’m now single and sort of
dating them both.” Lil was dead silent, Jade swore I was having them on, and
Steph thought it was hilarious, whether a lie or not. “No I’m serious,
obviously there’s more to it, but that’s it in a nutshell.”

Jade was still trying to get her head around the story.
“Hang on, so did Bryce pay Rick to tell you he’d had an affair? That arsehole,
I’m not drinking his ‘Beautiful Lady’ then.” She pushed it aside.

“No, again it’s a long story, but essentially Rick lied
about the affair himself, so that he could get the money. Bryce just offered to
pay it as an incentive to have Rick let me spend a week with him.” Steph was still
eyeing Jade’s cocktail.

“Well, in that case, I will drink it.” She dragged it back
in front of her.

The waitress came back, and we ordered our meals. I
explained a little more in detail what had happened, but I also kept a few
things to myself.

“So, single Alexis, eh? Does that mean you can date anyone,
I mean other than ‘Brick’?” Tash said with a mouthful.

“Brick, ha! I love it!” Jade was obviously fond of Rick and
Bryce’s collective name.

“Well, yes, I suppose I could, but I don’t want to.”

“Why would she want to date anyone other than Bryce, Tash?”
Steph looked dumbfounded.

“I don’t know, she’s single again. she could date anyone.”

“Hello, I’m still here! And no, I couldn’t date just anyone.
I’m not in my twenties, nor would I want to date just anyone. Can we change the
subject, please. I’d really like to hear all about your lives for once.”

“I’ll start, I found the best pair of Ruffle Butt’s today,
they are so awesome I am going to have my name embroidered on them.” We all
rolled our eyes at Tash.

“Anyone else, please?” I begged.

“Yeah, the concrete slab for our house will hopefully be poured
on Monday.”

“That’s great, Jade, how exciting! The house will be built
in no time after that.”

“I’m getting a tattoo,” Lil chimed in.

“I’m getting some freedom and putting Holly in daycare,’
said Steph. We all continued our catch up discussion over dinner, chatting
about different tattoo designs, various house facades and the pros and cons of
daycare. Thankfully, they did not revert back to the topic of my love life. I
was happy to fill them in, but to elaborate and discuss entirely was just a bit
too much. When we were ready to leave, I signalled the waitress for the bill.

“It has been taken care of, Ms. Summers.”
Taken care of?
Of course it has.
I stood up and patted my dress down as we were about to
leave the restaurant.

“You’re very lucky, Alexis, lucky to have an obscenely rich
man in love with you.”

“You know what, Steph? You’re wrong. I’m lucky to have an
obscenely romantic man in love with me. At the end of the day, I couldn’t give
a shit about the money.”

CHAPTER
TWENTY-THREE

Opals was packed to the rafters, and there were people
everywhere. It was a little too crowded for my tastes, but we went in anyway. I
had not even made it a few metres through the door when a security guard
approached me.
Shit, what have I done?
He shouted over the music.

“If you’d like to follow me, Ms. Summers, we have a booth
reserved for you and your friends.”
Mr. Fuck Me Senseless Clark, you think
of everything.

“Oh, thank you.” I turned to the girls. “Follow us.” We made
our way through the crowd to a booth on the far wall. ‘Security guy’ motioned a
barman to the table.

“Hi, I’m Kyle, I’ll take care of all your drinks tonight.
So, what would you ladies like first?” I wasn’t really paying much attention,
instead I was scanning the room, looking from wall to wall.

“Alexis?”

“What? Sorry.”

“What do you want to drink?”

“What you’re having.” I don’t normally drink what Lil
usually does, so that answer was probably a mistake. I didn’t care though,
because standing against the far wall near the bar was Bryce, looking terribly
sexy in a black shirt, or was it navy?
Who cares, he would look just as hot
if it were fluorescent orange.
His sleeves were rolled up and the top two
buttons undone, revealing just enough of his chest to make my mouth dry.

“I’ll be back in a minute.” I got up and took off before any
of them could ask where I was going or if they could come. I zigzagged through
people on my way to the wall. I would catch a glimpse of him then get
obstructed by someone blocking my way. I had finally made it to the spot I saw
him standing in, but he was gone.
I’m sure I saw him, no I’m fucking
positive.
My phone vibrated in my hand.

Hunny, you fucking drive me wild. - Bryce

Mr Please Fuck Me Now Clark, you
are driving me wild.
I tried to ring him but he didn’t answer. My phone
buzzed again.

Uh Uh, Ms. Summers,

I think I will play with you just a little bit longer - Bryce

Play with me, I’ll show you how
to play with me.
I typed a response.

Mr. Clark, I want you to really come and play with me - Alexis

I kept looking around, he couldn’t
be far. It was unbearable knowing he was close but not close enough. I felt a
tap on my shoulder and spun round ready to launch myself on him, instead, if I
had in fact done that, poor Jade would have gotten more than she bargained for.

“What are you doing, Lex?” She was shouting over the music,
and cringing at the same time.

“I thought I saw Bryce, so I was just texting him.” I
shouted back.

“You’re a goner, aren’t you?” I knew what she meant; I was
gone, gone way over the edge when it came to him.

“Yes, I think I was a goner from the first moment I met
him.”

“I can’t hear you, come to the toilet with me.” She grabbed
me by the hand and led me to the ladies room.

***

Now, these toilets had some minor comparisons to the ones at
the Pub, firstly, the queues were the same regardless of the fact there were
more cubicles, the problem was, there were a lot more people here too. The
conversations you overheard while in line waiting were also of the same topics.
It didn’t matter where in the world you were, there was always one backstabbing
friend coming onto another girl’s boyfriend. There were no writing on these
walls, though, as they were obviously well kept and maintained. However, the
absence of toilet paper was obviously unavoidable, and unfortunately I had no
pockets or stashed tissues this time.

“Fuck.” I said, just a little too loudly.

“No toilet paper either?” grumbled Jade.

“Yeah.”

A high-pitched voice came from the cubicle next to me. “Oh,
I’ve got some, then a tiny manicured hand appeared underneath the wall with a
big bunch of toilet paper.

“Thank you, you’re a life saver.” I passed some under to
Jade.

“Thank fuck for that, I hate having to pretend I’m spinning
a Hula-Hoop.”

“You spin a Hula-Hoop? That’s great. I do a Tina Turner.”

She laughed. “What, the fucking Nutbush?”

“No.” I laughed so hard I nearly pee’d again. “The little
open-legged run on the spot.”

“Oh, I’ll try that one out next time.” We both exited our
stalls at the same time and laughed when we looked at each other. I don’t know
about Jade, but I now couldn’t help but picture her standing over the toilet
bowl moving her hips round and round.
Get that image out of your head,
Alexis!

“So, as I was saying out there in that noise - you are
completely smitten with him, aren’t you?” I washed my hands, managing to catch
the soap, and then looked up to her reflection.

“Yes, I have been all along.”

“What are you going to do about Rick?”

“I don’t know. He was different last night though, I can’t
put my finger on it. It was actually bugging me today.”

“Maybe he still has a chance then?”

“I honestly don’t know, Jade.” My heart was telling me no, even
my head was telling me no, but there was something that was telling me maybe.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, Lex, you know I love you
dearly, but don’t lead them on. Decide who it is going to be quickly, or stop
seeing them both and take your time. You can’t date them, fuck them, love them,
whatever them at the same time. It’s not fair, and it’s just not you.” I moved
on to the hand dryer.
Wow! This one actually works, and the air is hot! Shit,
that’s rare.

“I know, Jade, the biggest part of me wants to continue what
I’ve started with Bryce. We are so in sync with each other it’s not funny. We
can communicate with just our eyes and mouths, and he just simply satisfies me
in every way possible.” I kept drying my already dry hands.

“But?”
Is it that obvious, there is a but?

“But, I don’t know how to say goodbye to Rick, especially
after this fuck-arse feeling I got last night.”

“Lex, sweetie, your hands are already dry.” She was waiting and
leaning against the wall.
Oh.

“That’s because you have spent half your life with him,
saying goodbye to someone you have been with that long is not easy, Lex.”

“Exactly, and I’m still confused.”

“Why?” She asked with her hands crossed.

“Really? You need to ask why?”

“Well, no, but I want you to say why you think you are
confused out loud. Sometimes saying it out loud can help clarify it.”

I sighed. “Okay, Rick never actually cheated on me, right? So
therefore, I shouldn’t feel the reluctance toward him that I do, but I can’t
seem to help it. Last night, when he kissed me it was different, not in a way
where I thought ‘Oh my God I want more’, but instead in a way where I thought,
‘who are you? I don’t know you anymore’. When I forgave them both, I still
harboured anger towards Rick, but not so much at Bryce which in hindsight
doesn’t seem fair. I guess I’m confused because I think that Rick and I have
both changed, and because of this, I’m not sure I can give him an equal chance.”

“Well, maybe that’s your answer, Lex.”

“But I owe him a chance, don’t I?”

“Do you? It seems to me he had a chance and he blew it. I
mean who allows their wife to sleep with a hot billionaire just so they can get
money?” She put her arm around my shoulder. “Come on, stop torturing your
conscience about it, and let’s get out of here. I want to burn some calories on
that dance floor.”
Yes, I think I definitely need to do that.
I followed
Jade out of the bathroom, when my phone buzzed again.

Where do you think you are going sexy? - Bryce

I quickly typed as I walked back.

Keep watching, my love, and you’ll find out. - Alexis

We sat back down at the table and I
gagged as I swallowed the bourbon and coke Lil had ordered for me. My little
talk with Jade had given me a new perspective on my ‘Brick’ situation, and I
was now ready to clear my head and have a good night.

“So, who wants to dance?” They all put their hands up.
“Excellent.” We made our way onto the crowded dance floor, and boy was it
crowded. I loved going dancing with my girlfriends, but there was nothing worse
than a drunk sleazeball, sliding on over to where you’re dancing and completely
getting up into your face. This sleazeball though, was stacked with dance
moves. Lil and I faked a smile at him as he tried to shake his chest in our
direction; he picked up on our reluctance to reciprocate, and turned round
finding Steph.

It was love at first sight, well maybe for him, definitely
not for Steph. He grabbed her hand and kissed the top of it. I laughed and
buried my face into Lil’s shoulder. Sleazeball tried to impress Steph by
picking up his pace and popping his hips, I swear the poor girl was struggling
not to vomit into her own mouth. The good thing about sleazeballs though, is
that they are normally alone. You do you get the rare group of sleazeballs, who
are quite difficult to escape. But one sleazeball, well we could handle him. In
fact, I think we could actually have some fun with him.

Tash could sense Steph’s need to regurgitate so stepped up
in his face and performed some disco moves of her own. First she rolled her
hands in front of her body really fast then she shot them out, John Travolta
style. I chimed in with a ‘Woot Woot’, but he turned to me, so I buried my head
back into Lil’s shoulder for protection. Sleazeball didn’t know what to make of
Tash’s brazen moves, I think he didn’t like the fact she was drunk dancing
better than him, so he slowly wiggled his way out of our circle and found a new
group to try and impress.

“Oh my God, I thought he would never leave. Tash, I love
you.”

“Come here, Steph.” Tash put her arms out and pulled Steph
in for a hug. Jade, Lil, and I were still laughing, and we were now mimicking
his Chicken Head dance move. ‘She Wolf’ by David Guetta and Sia sounded through
the speakers.

“I love this song.” I grabbed Lil and twirled her around. It
seemed everyone else loved this song too, because the dance floor became so
busy we were involuntarily separated as people fought for whatever dance space
they could get. I felt a hand grab mine from behind and I knew exactly who it
was, I’d become accustomed to those hands as they were permanently imprinted on
my skin. He gently pulled me back until I could feel his body hard against mine.
He put his hands on my hips and moved them with his, sending my pelvis into
‘pelvic arrest’. I felt his warm breath on my neck as he whispered into my ear.
