Read Always Managing: My Autobiography Online
Authors: Harry Redknapp
It wasn’t long before I discovered QPR were in a bad way. The dressing room lacked confidence and spirit of any kind, and the squad had an attitude towards training that stank.
Beating Chelsea, then champions of Europe, at Stamford Bridge was one of the few highlights of my first season at QPR. But whenever I thought we might have turned a corner and go on a bit of a run we reverted back to bad habits.
I’ve made many good friends and come up against many great managers in football. I’ll never forget what Kenny did for Jamie at Liverpool; I always enjoy a glass of wine and a chat about the horses with Sir Alex; and it’s good to have Jose back in the Premiership.
Where I’m happiest – down the garden with the dogs and the family around, but my mind is never far from football.
