              “So what’s up?” I looked over at Monroe and then at the water. I took a deep breath, I had no idea what she wanted to talk about.

              “I just wanted to ask you a few things and maybe get an understanding on what you want with, Skie.” She rubbed her hands together and looked over at me.

              “What is there to understand?” I looked at her confused and sighed, this talk was gonna piss me off and fast.

              “Well I know you been going through a lot, I don’t know what it is but I do talk to Skie and I know she haven’t been very happy.” She looked me in the eyes.

              “Well as you see things are getting fixed before she leaves, I have been going through a lot. Like finding out who my father was and his death, so excuse me if I have been a busy person.” I stopped walking and sat on the sand.

              “Damn I’m sorry, I didn’t know that things were that bad. My apologies that really does explain a lot.” She sat down next to me.

              “Yes, I don’t mean to push Skie away but things have been happening over and over and it takes my attention. Skie means the world to me, I want her in my life as long as I’m breathing.” I looked over at Skie and Anika talking and laughing.

              “I really hope y’all make it, I do think you guys are a cute couple. I think Skie deserves the world and more. She’s been through a lot; we grew up together.” She looked out into the water.

              “I’m just hoping this year won’t break us, we both just got our new careers and I have some other stuff I’ll be focusing on as well.” I looked at my hands, I knew for a fact I wouldn’t be the same person in a year.

              “Well I have faith that you two are stronger than y’all think, everything will be okay. after everything me and Anika been through, we shouldn’t even be together.” She smiled at her own thoughts.

              “Would you and Anika mind crashing me and Skie’s dinner tonight?” I looked over at Monroe. I had a plan for tonight and I wanted them to be there.

              “Yeah we can do that, I feel like you have something brewing. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” She smiled and stood up. “Let’s get back to our women,” she laughed.

              “I’ll follow you in a moment,” I took out my phone. I needed Ryder to do something for me, I sent him a quick text and ran over to join everyone.

              I sat down next to Skie, and wrapped my arms around her and she rested her head on my chest.

              “So what did you guys bring us to eat?” Skie lifted her head up and looked over at Monroe.

              “Girl, you’re fat,” Monroe laughed and reached for the picnic basic they brought along with them.

              She brought out all types of fruits, little baby sandwiches and two funnel cakes. Then she set a bucket of ice with red wine inside. My mouth was watering, it all looked so good and fresh. I swear today was such a lovely day. We all dug in, everything tasted so fresh. It was heaven in my mouth, the wine was rich and lovely. I would have to remember what kind it was, because I would be getting it again.

              “So I have some news of my own.” Monroe spoke up and looked at Anika with so much love in her eyes.

              She stood up and helped Anika get up, then she dropped to her knees. Tears filled Anika’s eyes.

“We have been through so much in the time we been together, they have been plenty times where I wanted to give up and walk away and I knew you’ve felt that same. But here we are still standing strong, I love you more than life itself. You have my happiness and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me Anika Marie?”

              “Yes, baby yes!” Anika screamed and sank down into Monroe’s arms, they kissed and cried together. I looked at the happy couple, I didn’t know about their past together, but I knew there had to be a lot of up and downs.

              “Congratulations you guys!” Skie got up and went over to them, giving them each a hug and a kiss on the check.

              I congratulated them, and then we all picked up everything and went our separate ways. Me and Skie were about to take a nap then get ready for dinner tonight.

              I was so happy for my best friend and her girlfriend for getting engaged. They had been together for a minute and I’m glad that things were coming together for them. Me and Blu just got into the house, so I took off my dress and laid down in the bed. I was so tired and I definitely needed a nap before tonight.

              “I’m about to go check on Ryder real fast, be right back baby.” Blu kissed me and then left the room.

              I turned on the smart t.v we had mounted to the wall and started watching Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. This was my show; I didn’t do drama so this way the closest that I ever got. I fell asleep without knowing. When I opened my eyes, Blu was walking into the room with a smile on her face.

              “What are you so smile about?” I asked, and got out of the bed, I needed to start getting ready for tonight.

              “Nothing baby, I’m gonna go take a shower in the other room so we can both get ready.” She kissed me on the lips grabbed her bathroom stuff and headed to the other room.

              I turned on the shower, and got in. I stood under the water for a while just thinking about today and how well it was going. I loved when things were like this, I felt my happiest. I was happy for Monroe and Anika. I got out the shower and wrapped myself into a towel. I walked straight to my closet and looked at all my clothes. I decided on a one-piece grey jump suit, it looked classy with a low back and long sleeves. I set that aside and looked at all my shoes, I decided on a pair of red heels. I put on a black lace thong and matching bra, I blow dried my hair and decided to straighten it. Once I was done with my hair, I put on light makeup and bright red lip stick. I put on diamond earrings and a diamond watch to set everything off.  I looked myself over and put on my clothes and heels. I grabbed a hand bag and put my lipstick and cell phone inside.

              I walked out into our living room area and took a seat on the couch waiting for Blu to finish. I was playing panda pop on my phone when Blu tapped me. I turned around and my mouth dropped. She was wearing a short black dress that showed off all her curves, red bottom heels. Her air was straightened with a spiral curl. She had red glitter eye shadow, gold diamond hoop earrings, and a diamond bracelet. I have never seen her dressed up before, she was so beautiful. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I got off the couch and walked over to her, she licked her lips and I kissed her. So was so fucking sexy tonight. I wanted to see her like this more often.

              “You look so beautiful Blu,” I grabbed her hand and pulled her close to me and smiled while looking into her eyes.

              “Thank you, you look beautiful as well. You ready to go?” She kissed me and we both walked out the house and to the car.

              We pulled up to the restaurant. I was expecting people to be here. Usually it was really busy, Blu got out the car and walked over to open my door.

              “So, before we go in, I kind of turned this into a little surprise of my own. This is actually a place Ghost owned. Me and Ryder pulled some strings cleared out the whole place.” She smiled at me and I looked at her in shock. We entered the beautiful restaurant, there was one table in the middle of the floor. There where roses all over, the lights where dimmed and candles everywhere.

              We walked over to the table and Blu pulled the chair out for me and then sat down across from me. The waitress came out with two covered plates of food. She set them down in front of us, then poured us both a glass of white wine, then walked off without a word.

              “Oh my god Blu, this is all so lovely. I feel like you have something up your sleeve.” I smiled at her and took the lid off my plate. I looked down and there was a big lobster and different types of sea food.

              Soft music was playing in the background; I looked around and then back at Blu. I took a few bites of food. The next thing I knew, Blu came over to me and dropped down. Then I looked over and Monroe and Anika came walking out with Ryder and Camila following. I looked down at Blu again and looked at her in shock.

              “What is all this, Blu? “I looked at her hands where a black box was, then back into her eyes.

              “Skie, you are the sweetest woman I’ve ever met. Before you I was hopping to relationship to relationship trying to find a connection that wasn’t there. Then you bumped into me backstage at the battle grounds. Ever since then I stopped looking, there was something about you that I couldn’t shake. I love you with all my heart, I know we haven’t been together very long, but I know I don’t want anyone else by my side. Will you marry me?” She smiled and opened the box and took out a very large diamond ring.

              “Yes, baby I’ll marry you.” I was smiling ear to ear with tears running down my face. Blu put the ring on my finger then kissed me. I knew we were gonna make it, I had no doubts anymore, Blu was the one for me and I was the one for her. She was my soul mate and I was hers, nothing at this moment could tell me otherwise. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

TWO MONTHS LATER.

              Things were awfully quiet; I’ve learned from my dad that when things are too quiet that means there was a war coming. I just left a meeting with the most trusted people in my father’s cartel. I hoped they would follow me like they followed my father. I declined the offer from the Miami Heat, right now wasn’t the time. I was too focused on my dad’s legacy that turned into my own. I thought I would regret it but I don’t, I don’t need the spot light. Blu been dancing and following her dreams, she came around when we needed her. She my right hand along with our uncle. With the three of us leading we couldn’t be broken, Camila was pregnant again. Emila was home with her family, where she belongs, taking care of all my father’s properties. I also knew my mom never left Miami, her boyfriend is here too. I don’t trust him. I have someone looking into him. My phone started to ring, I looked at Camila’s picture and smiled.

              “What’s up baby?” I clicked for my car to unlock and the next thing you know there was a explosion and my car was on fire and in pieces.

              “Ryder, Ryder!” I head Camila scream into the phone. I couldn’t take my sight off the flames in front of me. I could have been in that car, I needed to find out who did it.

              “Camila, let me call you back.” I hung up the phone and dialed my uncle’s number. He picked up on the first ring.

              “Word is out; my car just blew up.” I stood up off the ground. “I’m outside our meeting spot.”

              “I’ll be on my way,” the phone hung up. this meant war, whoever did this is going to pay. I also knew this wasn’t the last hit. I was sitting on a bench when my uncle’s SUV pulled up in front of me. I got into the passage seat and we sped off.

              “I found out who your mom’s boyfriend was, that’s where I was before I got your call. He is the leader of the Bella mafia. They are the second largest Cartel, right after us.” He looked at me and then back at the road.

              “Do you think my mom knows?” I was pissed off, she brought that man into my house. He saw how bad my father was looking, he had to be the one who just blew up my car.

              “I just had your mom taken. She will be at the house when we get there. I’m not sure if she knows or not. You need to Text, Blu.” He sped off and we were driving in and out of traffic.

             
Ryder: 911 meet at the house

              Blu: On my way.

              We pulled up to the house and I saw Blu’s car, so I knew she beat us here. She was good for the rushing when things needed to be done. We both walked in the house, I saw my mom was holding her wrist and Blu looking angry.

              “Your mom is pissing me off, what’s going on anyway?” Blu said we attitude. She looked over to the stairs Camila was coming down.

              “Baby are you okay?” Camila rushed over to me and gave me a really big hug then kissed me all over my face. Usually I would be happy to see her, but right now I needed to get down to business. I had to fill Blu in then question my mother.

              “I’m fine, can you please go upstairs I have business to discus, I’ll be up when I’m done.” I kissed her on the lips then walked over to Blu.

              “My car got blown up, and we finally figured out who my mom’s little boyfriend is. He is the leader of the Bella Mafia, second largest Cartel.” I looked over at my mother and frowned.

              “So, you think your mother knew this whole time?” Blu looked at me in disbelief and shook her head.

              “What Blu?” I looked at her closely. She knew something or was thinking something, I wanted to know what.

              “I don’t think she knows, it’s just a feeling.” She looked at me then my mother,

              I walked past my mom. “Follow me!” I demanded and walked into the backyard. I turned to see if she was following me and she was. I sat down and she sat across from me.

              “What is this all about, Ryder? All you had to do was call and ask me to come over.” She looked pissed.

              “I found out something about this new man in your life. What do you know about him? And be honest.” I looked at my mother with a blank expression.

              “All I know is he is a business man and that he owns a lot of restaurants, hotels and a few housing complexes. What is this all about, Ryder? Are you gonna keep me in the dark?” She huffed and crossed her arms.

              “So you don’t know that he is the leader of the Bella Mafia? That he is one of the most powerful men after Ghost? My car blew up; word has gotten around that he passed away. I also believe that Mika, that’s his name isn’t it? Has something to do with it.” I looked at her studying everything thing about her from her face expressions. I knew she was bad at lying.

              Tears formed into her eyes. “I was trying to get away from all that, so of course I didn’t know that’s who he really was. Mika’s just so good to me, he said he wasn’t a part of any illegal things. All that was a lie.” She broke down and cried.

              “I need you to do something for me, you have to go back to him like you didn’t just hear any of this. I need you to find out what he is doing, if he has any plans. Get real close to him, and when you find something out let me know.” I stood up and walked away without an answer.

              “So what she says?” Blu asked me, my Uncle was standing next to here. They both were looking at me.

              “I told him that I had no idea, and which I didn’t. I’ll help you out, but as soon as I find out some information I want a ticket out of the country. Now I need a ride home please,” My mother said and walked towards the door.

              “I’ll take her,” my uncle said and walked out of the house after her. I just wanted the door close.

              “Do you believe her?” Blu crossed her arms and looked at me with a blank expression on her face.

              “Yes, I do for now, time will tell. But I think we need to look into getting another house. If it is him coming after us, he knows where we lay our heads.” I looked at Blu, I didn’t like the idea of leaving this place.

              “I think instead of leaving we need to get higher security and watch everything that comes in and out. This is our father’s home, he built this. We need to fight to protect it. Remi called me to meet up with her for some coffee. I’ll see you later.” She walked out the house.

              I walked up the stairs to my room to find Camila sitting on the edge of the bed spaced out. “Baby!” I waved my hand in front of her face and sat down next to her. I know she was worried.

              “Are you sure you’re okay, Ryder? Today when I heard that noise I was scared that I lost you.” She looked so sad, I wrapped my arms around her.

              “I’m okay, I’m in one piece. See I flexed my muscles and laughed.” I was trying to take her mind of everything.

              She giggled a little and kissed me on the check. I pulled her close to me, I didn’t wanna tell her things could get a lot worse. I knew she would worry way too much. We both laid back on the bed and help each other. I would do anything to protect her and my family. I will find out who did this and they would pay. I hoped my mom was telling the truth about not knowing. I know her and my father didn’t have the best relationship at the end, but I hope she wouldn’t stoop that low.
