I called Calvin as well, “Hi Calvin.  I’m so sorry I wasn’t available to take your call or return your text messages.  Don’t tell mom or dad
, but I’m at Alex’s house.  I stayed here last night.  It’s a long story.  How are you?” I asked.

Hey, Claire.  I’m good, thanks to you.  Thanks for helping me out last night.  It went better than I had thought.  Is it a good idea to be staying at Alex’s house?  Where’s his wife?” He asked.

It’s a long story, but I will make it fast, since Alex went out to get a haircut.  It turns out that Alex was separated from his wife for many months before we started dating.  She had cheated on him and had a drug problem for which she was in a drug rehab program.  They’re not legally divorced yet, but in the process of getting divorced,” I blurted.

Wow, that’s crazy.  Well, he seemed like a good guy when I met him and you sound really happy.  I won’t tell mom or dad, I promise,” he replied.

I’m going to tell them, but just not today,” I said.

Got it,” he said and we hung up.

It was going to be difficult to fill in all my friends and family about Alex’s history with Angela and explain that we are back together.  My father
was probably going to take it harder than anyone else.  I just wanted to enjoy my weekend with Alex without anyone’s ideas or opinions about us.  I was happy again and felt so complete.

When Alex retur
ned from having his hair cut, he looked exactly like he did the first day I met him.  His eyes looked bluer than ever.  I loved how his hair wasn’t cut too short and was still a bit long and sexy.  I smiled when he walked in and I saw his new look.

I love it, Alex.  Welcome back,” I said.

Thank you, baby.  It’s good to be back.  It’s really cold outside.  Let’s go take a hot, steamy shower together,” he said, taking my hand and taking me to the master bathroom.  Alex removed the white t-shirt he had let me borrow.  He removed his jeans and sweatshirt quickly and turned on the water in the shower.  He began kissing me after we were both in the middle of the bathroom, naked.  He checked the water in the shower, “It’s ready,” he said as he lead me into the large shower.  The water was so hot that it caused a lot of steam in the shower.

Alex, it’s too hot,” I said.

It’s only hot because you’re in it,” he replied as usual.

He began kissing me so pa
ssionately that my heart began to palpitate.  I didn’t know if it was the hot water or his kisses.  His hands were everywhere on my body, starting with my face, then my neck, then my waist, and finally between my thighs.  I felt his erection press against my body as he put his hands on my shoulders and pushed me down until I was on my knees and his hardness was in my mouth.  Alex groaned as I took it deeper into my mouth.  I continued to take it in and out of my mouth quicker and quicker and stopped before he came.

I stood up as he
kissed me so passionately that my back was pushed against the hard tiles on the wall.  He was so close to me that I didn’t have an inch to move anywhere.  His fingers gently made their way into me as he went moved them in and out, in and out, until I was about to lose control.  He pulled out his fingers and carried me up as my legs wrapped around his body, his erection penetrating into me.  The wall behind me hurt my back, but I didn’t care.  Alex making love to me made me forget the discomfort.  His thrusts became quicker and deeper and it seemed to get hotter in that shower.

Tell me you want it,” he commanded.

I want it,” I said.

That doesn’t sound convincing,” he said.

I want it!” I yelled out.

That’s all you’ve got?” he asked.

Give it to me, Alex!” I yelled out.

Still not convinced,” he said.

Fuck me, Alex!” I yelled loudly.

Now, that’s much better,” he said as he quickened his pace and penetrated deeper and deeper, making me moan out of control as I came.  Alex groaned loudly as he came.  He pulled himself out of me and sat down on the tile bench inside the shower with me on his lap, the hot water still coming down on us.  We held onto one another, so comfortable in that position.  He kissed my forehead as he held me tightly.  I didn’t think I would be able to walk after that lovemaking session in the hot shower with my back banging against the wall.  It was pleasure and pain mixed together, more pleasure than pain.

Alex shampooed my hair and lathered my body, as he always liked to do.  He was very nurt
uring and took care of me as if I were his baby.  He loved to cook for me and enjoyed to see me eat.  He was concerned about my safety, considering what had happened to me years ago.

We dried ourselves af
ter the nice hot shower and he gave me a new t-shirt and a warm bathrobe to wear on top.  The heater was on in his house, but it was still a bit chilly for me.  He wanted to take a nap and I didn’t decline because I was extremely tired.

Do you want to go out tonight, baby?” he asked.

I don’t have clothes, Alex,” I replied.

I’m going to put your clothes from last night into the washer.  It will be ready by tonight.  Let’s go out to dinner.  I want to go to Café Amor, since that’s where we had our first official date.  What do you think?” he asked.

Hmmm, sounds good to me.  I don’t care where we go, Alex, as long as I’m with you,” I said as I put my head on the pillow.  Alex went to throw my clothes in the washing machine and came back to join me afterwards.

Let’s not forget to put those clothes in the dryer,” he smiled as he pulled me close to him, so I could put my head on his chest.  My eyelids got heavier and I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer.  “I love you, baby,” he said as we surrendered to sleep.

When I opened my eyes, it was already dark out.  I wondered what time it was.  I awakened Alex and he looked at his cell phone, which was on the nightstand for the time.

It’s past five o’clock.  We slept pretty long, didn’t we?” he asked.

My clothes!  I have to put them in the dryer,” I said as I began to get up.

I got it, baby.  I will throw them in the dryer.  You just relax,” he said as he got up to go to the laundry room.  When he returned, he made reservations at Café Amor for seven thirty, so we would have plenty of time to make sure my clothes were thoroughly dry.  It felt so good to just stay in that I did not want to move.  Alex looked healthy again.  The dark circles were gone.  His hair was perfect again and his almost beard was gone.  He was my original Alex once again.  He couldn’t stop telling me how alive he felt.

Your birthday is coming up, isn’t it, baby?” he asked, smiling big.

You remembered,” I replied, smiling.

Why wouldn’t I remember?” he asked.

I don’t know,” I replied.

Tell me what you want for your birthday,” he said.

I have everything I want.  I have you and I can’t imagine anything else in this world that would make me happier than the fact that I have you, Alex,” I said, honestly.

Do you really mean that, baby?” he asked.

Cross my heart,” I said, making a cross.

Well, then, I will have to think of something,” he said, grinning.  “Do you want to go bungee cord jumping?  I recall you mentioned sky diving recently,” he said.

That was a joke, Alex.  The craziest thing I have been doing lately is riding on a motorcycle,” I replied.

Alex’s face changed and his smile
disappeared. “You rode on motorcycle guy’s bike, didn’t you?” he asked.

His name is Stefano and he is my dance instructor and friend, Alex,” I said sternly.

Did you go to his Halloween party?  Did you date him?” he asked, insecurely.

Listen, Alex, I never dated Stefano.  It wasn’t his Halloween party that I went to. He is my dance instructor and friend.  He has a girlfriend.  Why am I explaining myself to you?” I began to get angry.

I’m sorry, baby.  I just got carried away.  I have to stop treating you as if you’re Angela,” he replied.

Yes, you really need to stop treating me like I’m Angela.  If you need more time apart, then we can take some time apart,” I offered.

No, baby.  I don’t want to be apart from you.  I just have to work on myself and constantly remind myself that you are not like her,” he replied.

You know, Alex, even if something had happened with Stefano, you and I weren’t together at that time.  It wouldn’t have been like I cheated on you, anyway,” I said.

Did you two date?  Did something happen between you and Stefano?  Did you sleep with him?” his questions were endless.

I got up and headed for the dryer to get my clothes out
, so I could get dressed and head home.  I had to teach him a lesson if it was the last thing I did.

I’m going home.  I will not put up with this.  If this is how our relationship is going to be then I don’t want any part of it,” I warned.

No, baby, don’t leave!  I’m sorry.  I won’t ask you any uncomfortable questions, I promise.  Please work with me, Claire.  I can’t change alone.  I need your help to heal from what Angela has done to me,” he said, taking my hands and pleading with me.  I didn’t know what to do with Alex.  I wanted to help him and I knew he would listen to me and take me seriously if I continued to set him straight.

Fine, Alex, but I’m warning you.  This cannot continue if you want to have a healthy and happy relationship with me.  You have to trust me.  If you don’t trust me then we don’t have anything.  I’m not Angela and I would never cheat on you.  I would leave you before I cheated on you.  Are we clear?” I asked.

Yes, baby.  I know you’re different and I do trust you.  Let’s just forget about all this and enjoy one another.  I love you, Claire.  I can’t stand to see you leave again.  It will kill me next time,” he replied.

I love you, too, Alex.  I will stay because I know you genuinely want me to.  We will work through your trust issues and see how it goes,” I said as I took my clothes out of the dryer and put them on, as we had dinner reservations we both didn’t want to miss.  Alex kissed me and held me tightly against his warm body.

Thank you.  I’m going to change, I promise,” he assured.

Chapter 19

Alex and I were very quiet on the drive to Café Amor
,
where we had dinner reservations that Saturday evening.  I wasn’t quiet because I was upset at him.  I was quiet because I was feeling a bit under the weather.  I didn’t want to complain and ruin the evening, so I thought I would just tough it out.  Alex sensed something was wrong and rubbed the back of his hand softly against my cheek.

Are you still upset at me, baby?” he asked.

No, I’m not upset.  I think I’m just a little tired, that’s all,” I replied, holding his hand.  I wished I had taken something before we left his house.  When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess and escorted to a warm and cozy part of the restaurant.  It was very cold outside, so we decided to sit inside.  Alex took a seat right next to me and put his arm around me.

“I hope you have a big appetite because I’m starving,” he said, looking over the menu.
I had absolutely no appetite to eat, since I wasn’t feeling well, but I really didn’t want to ruin our first dinner since we had rekindled.

Sure, just order whatever you think is best and I will share it with you,” I offered.

I ordered hot tea when the waitress took our drink order.  I was so cold I thought t
he tea would warm me up a bit.

Hot tea, baby?” Alex looked surprised. “No wine or a martini?” he asked.

No, I’m really cold, Alex.  I think I need the tea to warm me up,” I replied.

Are you feeling all right?” he asked.

I’m just cold, that’s all,” I replied.

You don’t look like you’re just cold, Claire,” he noted.

I’m fine, Alex.  I’m just cold and maybe a little tired,” I said as I put my head on his shoulder.

You do feel a little warm,” he said as he put his lips on my forehead.  “You may have a fever, baby.  I think you’re coming down with something,” he said as he continued to feel my forehead and cheeks.  “Why don’t we order to go and you can eat and lay down at home?” he offered.
