THE VERTIGO YOGA CURE

The yoga cure for vertigo is to breathe really deeply and move super slowly, knowing that you always have the
option to stop and back out of a pose. Sitting up on your heels or resting in child’s pose are great places to be
if you have a dizzy spell. If you feel light-headed or the room starts spinning, always back out of a pose.

Plow

Lie down on your back with your arms at your sides. Press down into your arms, round your back, and slowly bring your feet over your head. If this puts too much tension on your back or neck, roll out of it slowly and relax. Don’t force your neck in this position. If your back and neck feel okay, stay here for ten long, deep breaths.

Shoulder Stand

Slowly roll back down to lie on your back. Press your palms into your back so your fingers face up. Wiggle your elbows closer together and scoot your hands up your back close to your shoulders. Lift the backs of your legs

straight up so your body is in one straight line. Stay here for twenty long, deep breaths. Either close your eyes or keep your gaze softly resting on your belly button.

Headstand Prep

Sit on your heels with your shoulders above your hips. Interlace your fingers loosely and place them on the ground.

Place the top of your head on the ground so your fingers hold the back of your head. Stay here for a few breaths to get comfortable in the position. If you can, stay here for a few breaths before you back out. If you are comfortable, tuck your toes and straighten your legs like you would in a down dog. Stay here for ten long, deep breaths and when you are ready to come out of it, gently lower your knees to the ground and relax in child’s pose.

Child’s Pose

Gently come onto all fours. Relax your hips and sit back on your heels. Rest your forehead on the ground and

breathe deeply into your back. Stay here for five long, deep breaths.

Sit on Heels

From your child’s pose, keeping your hips on your heels, sit up so your shoulders are aligned above your hips. Rest your palms on your thighs. Stay here for five long, deep breaths.

Wrinkles

If we’re lucky, we will live long enough for time to eventually wrinkle our skin. These wrinkles tell the

story of our lives. It’s up to us if our faces are going to tell a tale of years spent smiling and laughing,

or days wasted frowning and scowling. How we view and deal with aging is up to us. A healthy and

joyful relationship with ourselves as time goes by is much more useful and lovely than spending our

adult years chasing after a vanished youth. There is no point. Chasing after a ghost of ourselves only

leads to more misaligned thought patterns, habits, and actions … and to unhappiness in our own skin,

literally.

Enjoy today! We only get to live each day once. Enjoy each moment fully. Aging is a natural and

beautiful part of life. Wrinkles don’t have to be the kiss of death or something we rush to smooth out

with aggressive skin treatments or plastic surgery. Enjoy who you are today and every day.

That being said, taking great care of your skin will keep you vibrant and fresh from the inside out.

You can’t buy a skin cream that provides the glow you get from happy, healthy insides. Only you can

light up your skin from the inside. Yoga can show you how. Yoga can keep your skin glowing, reduce

the effects of gravity, and keep the stresses in your life from making you haggard.

Tonya Jacobs, a scientist at UC Davis’s Center for Mind and Brain, reported that meditators show

improved psychological well-being, and that these improvements lead to biochemical changes

associated with resistance to aging at the cellular level. You can change your body at the cellular level

with yoga. Also, the more yoga you practice, the less you’ll make scrunched-up faces from being in an

unpleasant mood. Repetitive frown and stress lines, gone!

THE WRINKLES YOGA CURE

The yoga cure for wrinkles is to not care when you get wrinkles. You’ve earned them through living. The cure
for getting wrinkles that you don’t need is being happy, less stressed, and practicing yoga regularly.

This routine is designed to relax you as well as reverse the effects of gravity on your body. Stay easy and
calm when you practice. If you have a hard time staying calm, stop wherever you are and take a long, deep

inhale through the nose, and exhale through the mouth. Repeat twice more for a nice, settling effect.

Practice this routine daily to revitalize yourself from the inside out.
