He wanted to tell her that he missed her, too, but she continued talking, “And then I saw a magazine with pictures of you and Melissa on the cover and I know what they write isn’t true but it’s still hard.”

“What did it say?” He was going to have to send one of the assistants out to pick up all of the magazines so he could do a better job of keeping on top of the gossip and reassuring Flynn before she had to read anything that she might find troubling.

“Oh the usual,” she said lightly, though he could still hear the misery. “You and Melissa are moving up your wedding date or you’ve eloped or you’re expecting a baby or you were seen at some exclusive event looking cozy.”

“What was today’s article?”

“The second and third,” she answered softly. And in a lower voice, added, “And a little bit of the fourth, with a picture of the two of you with your heads together in a romantic pose.”

He racked his brain to figure out what picture she could have been talking about and almost laughed when he remembered. “Flynn, the picture was taken when we were having dinner with Storm. The moment we saw the photographer, we both moved to hide Storm under the table, which was not an ideal solution but the only option at the time. Shortly after the picture was shot, the man was… escorted out of the restaurant. As for the baby, well, she hasn’t had sex with a turkey baster so she can’t be pregnant.”

Flynn was quiet for a moment and then a snort of laughter burst out and he took a breath and relaxed. He relaxed further when she sighed, “Thank you, Winter.”

Amazed by her thanks, he asked, “For what?”

“For making me laugh, for being you,” she murmured. “I still miss you, though.”

“Join me,” he blurted without thought, realizing he wanted her there, damn the consequences.

“God, I wish I could,” she said with tangible longing. “But I just agreed to plan a fiftieth anniversary and I’m already regretting it. What if I screw it up?”

“Congratulations, Flynn, you’ll do great,” he told her, proud of her even though he would have liked to have her close by. A knock at the trailer door let him know that it was time to go. “Don’t worry, Flynn, we’ll make this work.”

“I know,” she said in a soft voice. “I love you too much to let distance keep us apart.”

He chuckled, “I’ll be home before you know it and then shortly after that we’ll be able to be together without having to hide it.”

“God, I can’t wait,” she said. “Love you.”

“Bye, Flynn,” he said, hanging up the phone and getting up to answer the door. Fallon was on the other side, smiling up at him and looking so much like Flynn, he almost forgot how to breathe. But she wasn’t Flynn because Fallon didn’t have that something that made Flynn Flynn.

“Ready to go?” she beamed at him.

Nodding, he stepped out of the trailer and forced his lips into a friendly smile. Pulling on a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses, he held his arm out for her and led her to his rental car. Fallon was helping him with something very important, something he wanted to give Flynn for her birthday. The little stinker never told him her birthday was three days after Storm’s, three days after the official end of his relationship with Melissa. Three days and all of the difference in the world.

With a genuine smile, he drove Fallon to the jewelers.

Chapter 18

The next two and a half months flew by whenever she was with Winter, which was not often enough, and then dragged by so slowly when he was gone
, which was too often. The director decided he wanted to film three movies back to back, or maybe that had always been his plan but she hadn’t known, so Winter’s schedule was unbelievably full and he was rarely home. He tried to make it home for long weekends every couple of weeks and she lived for those weekends, when they’d spend all day in bed laughing and talking about nothing consequential and having lots of sex. Lots of sex. As well as pushing increasingly bigger plugs into her ass. It was uncomfortable but Winter’s harsh breathing made it all worthwhile. When Mondays rolled around and he returned to filming, she’d barely be able to walk. Saying goodbye never got any easier.

Hell, they had spent one of the two weeks he had over the holidays holed up in his chalet in Aspen. Sex in the hot tub, sex on the balcony looking out at the world below while they froze their bits and pieces off, sex up against the wall, sex bent over the table…. There hadn’t been a lot of words because they had been apart for nearly an entire month prior. While they had been lying naked and sated in each other’s arms in the chalet, he had almost had her convinced to join him at his parents’ house for Christmas but in the end, she had stayed in L.A
. and had a quiet but delicious meal with Fallon and Harry.

Even though he had taken Storm to his parents’ house the weekend after Christmas to exchange gifts, the relationship between Winter and his family was still a little strained. As he explained, it was as if either he or his parents had been taken over by pod people because there was a lot of perilous ground between them that they were afraid of crossing. But they were trying because the one thing they did have in common was their love for Storm. The little boy had everyone who knew him wrapped around his little finger, none more so than Winter.

Fallon was flying higher than the moon after returning home, two weeks after she was originally scheduled to be back. She was certain the movie was going to be her stepping stone to bigger and better roles, a lifetime of fame, which meant they probably wouldn't have to go back home come June. And every time she looked at Flynn, she’d start to giggle like a mad woman. Fallon had also been spending most of her free time with Harry and it was only a matter of time before the two of them moved in together. Her sister was being incredibly tight-lipped about their sex life, though, so Flynn wasn’t one hundred percent certain they were intimate yet.

She couldn’t imagine the two of them had a platonic relationship because their chemistry was combustible.

Diane had given her a few more low-budget accounts and Flynn found herself becoming an event coordinator, well, a party planner since her clients weren’t rich and/or famous. She found she enjoyed working with her clients, getting to know them and hearing their life stories, but she still wasn’t sold on the idea of making a living as a party planner. She wasn’t going to be giving back the tablet, even though Diane refused to accept money in order for her to keep it.

With the commissions she made, though negligible compared to Gwyn’s or Siobhan's or even Jennifer’s, Flynn was able to pay off the credit card for the hotel all of those months ago. And when their lease was up in a few months, if they made the decision to stay, they’d be able to afford a slightly better apartment. If Fallon didn’t move in with Harry. Or maybe Flynn would be able to afford a nicer one bedroom since she didn’t need a lot of space. When Winter came over, it wasn’t lik
e they needed more than a bed, and they frequently didn’t even need that.

Or maybe he would ask her to move in with him and she’d be able to buy a car.

Sighing, she entered the empty apartment, telling herself she shouldn’t get ahead of herself. After all, he still hadn’t told her he loved her. She
thought
he did and sometimes when he looked at her, she
knew
he did, but she didn’t think
he
knew. Or maybe all he felt for her was merely fondness mixed in with a healthy dose of lust and he was just grateful to know the name and the face of the woman he fucked.

Closing the door and throwing her keys on the little table, she came to an abrupt halt. Lying on the floor was a
red envelope with her name on it. Curious, excited, she bent down and quickly opened it, anticipation buzzing along her veins because she knew it was from Winter, even if he hadn’t delivered it personally.

Tearing the hand written letter out, she flopped onto the couch and read it:

To celebrate the best four months of my life as well as

My Twenty-eighth birthday

I wish to invite you to Napa for a weekend of fine wine,

Good conversation and great sex.

Enclosed is a ticket to fly up to San Fran.

Pack light so I can pick you up at the curb at 8:00.

p.s. Don’t worry about work; I’ve arranged

everything with Diane. She thinks we’re going over

last minute details for Storm’s party.

It’s great being involved with a girl with slight

OCD tendencies and everything for the party

is pretty much taken care of.

Yours, Winter

Smiling to herself, all doubts and worries gone, she flew to her bedroom to pack a few things in an overnight bag. Since she doubted clothes would be necessary, she chose the smallest carry-on bag she could find. Grabbing her phone, she called her sister to beg for a ride only to hear her sister’s phone ringing in the front room.

Stepping out of her room, she grinned at Fallon who stood there with a big, shit-eating grin on her face as she said, “I thought you might need a lift.”

Squealing, Flynn flew across the room and practically tackled her sister to the ground as she hugged her. “How did you know about this?”

“Who do you think put the envelope on the ground?” Fallon asked, taking the bag from Flynn’s hand and pushing her out the door. “Harry is downstairs with the car running since you’re running late.”

“I didn’t know I had some place to be,” she explained, the butterflies jumping up and down in glee. Stopping on the step, she looked at Fallon in horror, “Am I going to miss my flight?”

“No, now get moving!” Fallon ordered, laughing. “Winter arranged for everything, Flynn. He’s flying you up on a chartered plane but he wanted you to leave, and I quote, ‘
as soon as she gets her sweet ass through the door
.’”

Flying out of a smaller annex about an hour later, Flynn was able to bypass most of the LAX insanity and get settled in for the hour plus long flight. She was pretty sure the pre-flight checks and taxiing lasted longer than the actual flight and before she could catch her breath, she was on the ground and standing outside, shaking since it was slightly chillier in San Fran than L.A. in January and she was nervous and excited. A driver was standing by a limo with her name written on a piece of cardboard and when she neared, he opened the door for her.

“Hey, there, gorgeous,” Winter’s voice washed over her and she laughed out loud, sliding into the car that was bigger than her apartment and into his arms. It had been two and a half weeks since he left her last and being back in his arms was like coming home.

“Winter,” she sighed, brushing her lips over his in a gentle kiss.

“We never did have limo sex,” he said, waggling his eyebrows at her, making her laugh and her body shiver. “And we have an entire hour to do it but first I have a surprise for you.”

Trying to control the way she panted at the heated promise of having him buried in her body within the next five minutes, it took a moment for her to concentrate on his words. “What’s the surprise?”

Twining his fingers in her hair and gently tugging her onto his lap, he grinned. “We wrapped up filming; I’m home for as long as you want me.”

“Is forever long enough?” she asked, her eyes heavy as she stared at his lips, waiting for them to be on hers. Sliding her hands over his shoulders, into his hair, she pressed her body against his, “Kiss me, Winter. I’m aching to
feel you inside of me.”

With his one hand still tangled in her hair, he tugged at the fastening of his pants, releasing his ever-ready erection. “That’s one thing I love most about you, Winter. You never bother with underwear.”

His chuckle was dark and strained as he kissed her and went to work on freeing her from her pants. She was too busy kissing him and running her fingers through his thick hair to be of much help, lifting and shifting as he pulled her pants and panties from her body. Straddling his lap, she held her breath as she slowly lowered herself onto his hot and heavy cock, inhaling as he finally filled her.

“God, you feel like heaven,” he rasped, resting his hand on her hip as they held themselves still and simply absorbed the moment. “If I could, I would live in your body.”

“It would make it impossible to film movies,” she teased, the words coming out breathless since she was finally where she wanted to be.

“We could cover you in green and digitally alter you out of the shot,” he offered raggedly, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. She took the opportunity to lick his throat, loving the salty hot taste of Winter’s skin. When he groaned, she felt the vibration in her mouth. “Oh, man, that feels so good.”

“Hmmm,” she hummed sliding her hands down his chest and beneath his shirt so she could touch his skin. His tummy clenched as she dragged her nails over his ticklish spot and he grabbed her wrists to stop her but she didn’t mind because he was here and he was filling her so completely.

With a groan, he pulled her off of his body, his erection, and set her onto the seat next to him. At her look of betrayal, he smiled and pulled something out of the bag she hadn’t even seen. He held up a dildo, far bigger than any of the others he had used, and her ass tightened in trepidation as he rasped, “In the rush to be in you, I forgot one tiny, little detail.”

“That’s not tiny,” she protested, not taking her eyes off the thick sex toy.

Ignoring her whispered words, he demanded, “Get naked.”

Keeping her eyes on the monster dildo, she pulled her shirt off and slipped out of her bra. She was sitting in a large limo in her bare skin and the only thing that bothered her was the fake penis in Winter’s hands.

“Turn around and get on your hands and knees, Flynn,” he ordered, taking out a bottle of lube and slicking up the torture device. When she hesitated, he rumbled, “Do it, love.”

Taking a shaky breath, she faced the other way and slowly went to her hands and knees, tilting her ass into the air. His warm hand smoothed over the flesh as he spoke in a graveled voice, “If you can take this, you’ll be able to take me even though I’m a little bit bigger.”

Her belly quickened, in fear, in impatience, in arousal and she had to concentrate on her breathing otherwise she’d start to hyperventilate and pass out. Licking her lips, she looked over her shoulder and met his piercing blue eyes. They burned with dark fierceness and as he held her eyes, he dribbled the cool lube on her ass. Smearing the liquid around until it heated, he took extra effort to touch the forbidden entrance, arousing her and terrifying her. “Relax, love. This is going to blow your mind, especially when I fill you at the same time. But that won’t be today.”

“Winter?” At his distracted murmur, she swallowed nervously, afraid of his answer. “Do you dream about sharing me with another man?”

His head shot up and he glared at her, snarling, “No. You are
mine
and I do not share what is mine.”

She released the breath she had been holding and relaxed, “Thank God.”

His startled chuckle relaxed her further. “Do I even want to know?”

“Well….” Her eyes dropped to the dildo then moved to his erection. “It’s just that you were talking about double penetration and I thought, I
feared
, it was to prepare me for that scenario.”

“No.” Smacking her ass with the flat of his hand, he ground out once more, “No, just… no.”

With that settled, he picked up the large phallus and rubbed it against the crack of her ass, shuddering as he did it. Unable to watch the intrusion, she faced forward and rested her cheek on the seat. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath as she felt the tip of the dildo push against the tight bud. “Go slow.”
