Epilogue

Two weeks later

Damien strolled around the compound looking at the building work that was going on.  He had enough men to build two houses at once, and work was going well.  All around him the pack settled like a comfortable blanket.  Children played around the houses, with the women sitting on the benches Damien had supplied, gossiping and watching them.  Between the building, the women and the children, the whole scene screamed of domesticity.  Damien loved it.

Damien smiled to himself as he thought back over the past two weeks.  After everyone had left New York, Damien and Scott flew to Cleveland and drove out to Wildwood Lake.  To say their visit with Alpha Connor was interesting would be an understatement, but Scott did get a chance to see his family, which was a semi-positive thing.  Scott had taken the time to show Damien some of his old haunts, and he even took Damien to a club that he used to frequent as a teenager.  Unfortunately Damien didn’t handle Scott being groped by every twink in existence and the two men decided, that for now at least, their jealousy was too entrenched to go clubbing where they weren’t known.

They only stayed for two days in Cleveland and then they flew home to the pack.  Since getting back, Damien had been overseeing the construction work going on, while Scott spent time mediating small issues in family groups and between pack members.  Madison had become a frequent visitor although he refused Scott’s offer to stay permanently at the pack house.  It seemed he still liked to be connected to the club life as well.  Damien hadn’t been back to the club yet, but he and Scott were planning to go in later that afternoon for a meal and some dancing.  At least no-one would dare grope his mate in his own club.

Thinking of his mate, and the idea of groping, Damien decided to return to the pack house for an early lunch.  Maybe he could talk Scott into an afternoon nap.  But just as he got to the house, he felt Scott in his mind.  Sharp and blinding, the man was in pain.  Crashing through the door, he yelled out for Scott, panicking that something had happened to his mate.

“In here,” Scott called out from the kitchen.

Heading to the kitchen, Damien could see Scott was on the phone.  He looked okay, but Damien pulled the man into his arms and started checking him over, just in case.  When Scott, hung up his eyes were bleak and tears were forming.

“What the hell’s wrong?” Damien demanded.  Fuck it, whoever had hurt his mate was going to be dead.  Stone cold dead.

“It’s Troy,” Scott said.  “His mate… there’s something happened to his mate.  Damien, I’ve got to go to Cloverleah.  Shawn’s giving me ten minutes to pack then zapping me back there.”

“Not without me, he isn’t” Damien said, even as he guided Scott upstairs to their room.

Scott stopped him at the top of the stairs and cupped his face.  “Damien, love, I want you to be with me but you have the pack to look after.  I don’t know how long I’m going to be.  I don’t expect you to come with me.”

Dropping his head for a quick kiss, Damien said, “I know you don’t expect it, and that is all the more reason for me to be there.  You’re brother is in trouble.  He’s family.  The pack has Malacai and Madison.  The club has Lucius and Vincent.  You have me.  It’s that simple.”

“I love you,” Scott said softly.

“As I love you,” Damien said back, “Now let’s get packing and you’d better text Shawn and tell him there’s two to pick up.”

Hurrying the two men packed a small bag each and then Scott text Shawn to let him know they were ready.  As Damien and Scott stood waiting for their ‘ride’ for the want of a better word, Damien took Scott’s hand, offering him all the comfort he could in that one small point of contact.  Damien didn’t have any idea what had happened to Troy or his mate, but Scott needed him and Damien was sticking by his mate for as long as it took for things to come right again.

But finding out it is possible for wolf shifters to have gay mates is just one of the things that Kane has to overcome if he is to have the forever future he has been hoping for.

Shawn Bailey never expected to find his mate. He is just too different - an "Other" who has the power to instill fear in any other shifter. After spending ten years on the run from his Alpha father he spends most days just trying to stay alive.  When a chance encounter brings him face to face with his mate Shawn has to decide if the man in front of him is worth staying for.

But with hunters, Alpha challenges, Kane's parents and a smitten Alpha from another pack all interfering in Kane and Shawn's budding romance, not to mention some surprising answers about Shawn's own unique talents can these two true mates find the happily ever after they are looking for?

Derrick “Diablo” Franklin was just looking for a hook up with a like minded shifter.  The sexy cat shifter was deep undercover for the FBI and although his case was coming to an end, he had hopes for his career that didn’t involve finding a mate.  However after meeting Griff Diablo realized his plans might have to change.

But nothing is easy for the two men as they battle the FBI, a crime lord from Baton Rouge and a host of contenders looking to take Diablo away from Griff.  And just who is Angel Bandures?
