Prologue

Brooklyn

I was fourteen when I had my first sexual experience. It was with the quiet boy in one of my classes. Blake was sweet, and neither one of us knew what we were doing. It happened super fast, and once it was over, I think we both regretted it. Stupid kids with no protection, we should have known. Two months later, I had missed my period and went to my mom crying, knowing what was wrong.  She was disappointed with me, but she loved me enough to support me. I have the best parents in the world. I wasn't a bad kid,  just had made a bad decision. Obviously with the wrong boy too, because when I told him that I was pregnant, he went into shock.  Three months later, I couldn't find him. His parents had packed up everything and left. No forwarding information. Nothing. They were ashamed of what their son had done.  So with the support of my parents, I had a baby boy a few months after I turned fifteen. He was beautiful. I named him Preston Scott. It saddened me to know that he would grow up not knowing his dad, but I was determined to be the best mom possible. I wanted to finish school and go to college. Everyone at school said that I wouldn't make it very far. “No teenage mother can make it through college,” they would say. Kids are mean. So that just made me more determined to make a good life for Preston and me.

Luckily Mom was a stay-home mom/wife. Daddy was a marketing manager at a large firm in town, so Mom never worked. I was an only child, so she concentrated on me and now Preston. Her being home allowed me to continue high school. Although I was not the only girl in school that had had sex, I was dubbed the high school whore, because I was one that was stupid enough to get pregnant. On top of that, by a boy who ran off and I had kept the baby. Boys wanted in my pants constantly, because the rumor was that I would put out to anyone since I did with the “weird boy.” The only thing was that Blake was my first and only experience.  I think that scared me enough to stay away from boys while in high school.  My senior year--after several years of suffering through school and having limited friends--was when I met my best friend.  Lacy was the only one that I saw outside of school. She loved Preston and accepted the fact that I was a mother of a toddler. We hung out mostly at my house because my mom had said, “I will keep him for you to go to school, but after school he's all yours.” She wanted me to own up to my responsibility. She did allow me on occasion to do stuff, but I had rules to follow. I respected that, and Lacy did too--she never pressured me to do things I was not allowed to do. We chose to go to the same college in town. I had to stay close and at home since I had Preston. He was a good boy. I couldn't ask for a better son. In college, I had my times of going to parties and dating. But Preston was always my priority. I never got serious with guys, just had fun with them. I was always noticed when I walked into a party or a room. I was 5'6 and a size two. I had long black hair and a constant tan.  After having Preston, my mom's first order of business was to get me on birth control. I agreed.  I also always took another step once I became sexually active: I wouldn't get close to another guy without him wrapping his dick up. Sex with guys was easy, but that's where I drew the line, I didn't want anyone in Preston’s and my life permanently.  Lacy and I had a lot of good times in college, and as we were graduating, her baby sister was beginning college. Hannah was funny like Lacy, and although she was several years behind us, we found she hung around a lot. We kind of took her under our wing, and I was fine with that, and Lacy never seemed to mind either.

I graduated with a degree in Business Management. I had planned to go work with my dad but decided after college to continue and become a Real Estate Broker. I was able to complete all the required real estate exams to get my license. My dad helped me start up the business, and now I'm a single mom of a -ten-year-old living in Los Angeles, co-owning one of the largest real estate companies in the area. Everyone knows Brooklyn Baker.  I was proud of myself. My parents were proud of me and that meant a lot to me.  Preston and I lived in a small house in the beginning, but when he turned fifteen, I moved us to a larger house with a pool and a view to kill for. This was our home. I was comfortable financially and happy within myself.  I limited my dating, never bringing guys around Preston as a kid. It wasn't until we had moved and he was older did I bring anyone over. I never allowed any kind of inappropriate behaviors around my son.  I never had guys stay over if Preston was home. He would on occasion stay with Gram and Gramps, my parents, and I then had alone time with guys I dated.  As he began getting older, though, he stayed home more. I was fine with that, because, although I was the parent, I was also his best friend. He was of course a momma's boy.

By fifteen, he towered over me. High school came too quickly, and soon I had a house full of boys all the time. Everyone wanted to hang with Preston. I was considered the cool mom. The other moms were older than me, so I fit in with the boys more. I hung out with them and joked with them. Preston always teased that it was me that they wanted to hang out with. I always laughed. Preston was a good guy that had loads of friends. He played baseball all throughout high school and got a full scholarship to UCLA. As fast as high school came, it was over just as fast. My baby was graduating and starting college in the fall.

Chapter 1 Brooklyn

Preston lives on campus, but if he isn't in class or playing ball, he's at home with me. I think he sleeps at home more than he does at his place. He drags friends home all the time. His sophomore year is when I first met Landon.               Preston is having a handful of boys over at the house. This is a regular occurrence. I think the baseball team would rather hang here than go to college parties most of the time. I'm sitting on a lounger with a table between me and Toby, another team member, playing poker. The boys are making me laugh so hard at their need to beat me at poker. This Toby boy is good though. He keeps asking if I would consider strip poker. I just roll my eyes because he can't seem to win any games; he would be the one losing his clothes. Everyone is out at the pool on this Saturday afternoon, and I'm already wearing my bikini--can't  get much more naked than that. At least not with this group.

Preston walked up with Landon as Toby just got handed his ass once again. I look up and see them watching me play. I smile. "Preston, Toby needs to give up."

"Yeah, looks like it." He laughs. "Landon, this is my mom, Brooklyn." Preston introduces us. "Mom, this is Landon, the guy I've told you about from school. He's on the team now. He pitches."

"Nice to meet you, Landon," I tell him, holding my hand out. He just stands there staring at me.

Preston nudges him. "Yeah, nice to meet you too," he replies as he takes my hand. He continues to shake my hand while staring at me. My eyes are concealed behind my sunglasses, but I also can't take my eyes off him. He's a few inches taller than Preston, making him well over 6 foot.  He's only wearing a pair of board shorts, showing off his broad shoulders and his amazing chest and abs. His eyes are blue, and he has dirty blond hair.

"Preston, dude, your mom seems to have another admirer," Toby chuckles. "Not that I can blame him." He winks.

Preston nudges him again. Preston then looks over at him. "Dude, stop staring," he whispers. Landon drops my hand and looks over at Toby with a smirk on his face.

"Landon, watch my mom take Toby down." Everyone laughs with Preston. I of course beat Toby at yet another hand of poker. Everyone gives Toby a hard time, because they know that poker is his favorite pastime besides baseball.

"Okay, that's enough playing, you all go swim or grab some burgers," I say, getting up from the lounger. The boys all moan and break away to allow me to pass. It's like I walk on water with them. I turn to ask Preston if he's eaten, and every one of them is staring at me walking away. I laugh again, shaking my head.

Dan is standing there grilling the burgers. He is one of the other real estate brokers that I work with. He's cute if a small balding spot on the back of his head doesn't bother you. He has on some shorts and a t-shirt and is sweating from the grill. He worships the ground I walk on. I say jump and he jumps. I've told him over and over that there won't ever be anything other than sex between us, but I guess a man can hope. At forty, he's five years older than me. I've tried for the longest time to set him up with Lacy, but they just can't seem to hit it off. "Lacy's on her way," I tell him.

"And?" he says, wiping his forehead with a paper towel. I roll my eyes as Preston runs up to Dan.

"Dan the man...burger please." Preston holds his plate with a bun on it for a patty. Luckily Preston's always liked Dan and has always accepted him being around us.

"Here you go." Dan slides a patty on his bun as Preston takes off toward the guys. "Can you cover up a little?" he says, eyeing my suit. "Those boys all have hard ons."

I laugh. "Whatever." I grab my sarong, wrapping it around my waist. "Better?" I say, walking into the house. He chuckles. He knows how comfortable I am with my body. I turn from grabbing the fruit tray from the fridge, and Landon's walking in. "Hey, Landon, I'm glad you could come." I smile as I walk toward the sliding door to the back.

"Of course, thanks for having me," he says opening the door to allow me to pass. I look up at him, and he winks. I have to brush by him on my way out, and I get a whiff of the most intoxicating smell. It's a mixture of soap and maybe aftershave?  I shake my head. "What?" He follows me out while I set the fruit on the table.

"Nothing," I say as I rearrange the table. Just as he was going to say something, Preston comes up from behind me and grabs me, taking off running toward the pool. The boys are whooping and hollering. He goes airborne with me into the pool. I come up laughing. I slap his shoulder as most of the guys all jump in behind us. I pull myself out of the chaos and swim to the side. Landon reaches down and offers his hand to me. I grab it, and he pulls me up out of the water. "Thanks."

"Yeah of course."  He stands there still holding my hand. I look down, and he drops it. "It feel good?" he asks, and I assume he's asking about the water.

"Yeah, you should jump in." He winks again, side steps around me, and dives in.
