“Are you sure you don't regret jumping into marriage and babies so fast?” Ryan asked, as he gently took Emma back into his arms so Cassie wouldn't have to carry the added weight as they turned toward home. She'd fallen in love with the Cape Cod and together they'd made it a home. “I feel like I rushed you into all this.”

She leaned against him, reveling in his strength. “I don't regret one minute,” she said with a contented sigh. Everyone in Cedar Bluff had thought they were crazy to get married so quickly but, oddly enough, they'd wanted to be married before welcoming Emma into their lives. “You, and Emma and this new baby are all I've ever wanted.”

“Does that mean you've changed your mind about finding out the sex of the baby?” he asked with a teasing grin.

“No, I want the sex of the baby to be a surprise. For both of us.”

“I'm holding out for a baby sister for Emma,
a little girl who looks just like you,” he said, just before he kissed her.

She kissed him back, not really caring one way or the other. A little boy like Ryan would be great, but a sister for Emma would be amazing, too. Either way, she was already blessed.

All that mattered was their love for each other.

And their new family.
