Victor smiled, a full expression he didn’t believe he’d ever worn before. “Yes. Come live with us. Not as my valet and certainly not as a pet.”

“Do you mean it?” Cabot asked.

“I do. My wife-to-be is in love with you, Cabot. How could I deny her desires?”

“Wife-to-be,” Violet whispered.

“Will you marry me?” he asked her again.

Her eyes turned deep purple as she beamed at him. “I will.”

He kissed her and then Cabot, feeling as if a large weight had been lifted off his chest.

As they began to kiss and caress each other, Victor knew this was right. This was his happiness. To hell with his vow. He would make a new one.
