RE: Appointment Needed

I’m off Monday, how about Tuesday morning @ 7:30 before I start with patients.

Breathe child…if something happens before then, listen to your heart, and your body will respond naturally!

Brad awoke to soft warm lips on his.

“Hi,” she whispered against his lips. “I hated to wake you, but we’re getting ready to start our descent.”

“Hi yourself,” he murmured lazily. It took a second for what she said to register, “Alexandria, why did you let me sleep the entire trip?”

“You were tired. Besides, I had a fantastic view. I didn’t know you drooled,” she said teasingly.

Before he was able to retaliate, the attendant interrupted him with the announcement to put seats and trays in their upright position. When she finished, he leaned over and said, “And you snore, my darling!”

“I do not,” she huffed.

He leaned over to give her a sweet peck on the cheek. “Yes you do, but if you wake me with a kiss such as that every morning, I promise to forgive you.”

She couldn’t help but grin at his boyish plea.

Chapter Five

T
he drive home
from the airport was quiet. Neither wanting the magic to end.

Tears glistened as Alexandria peeked from under her lashes, torn between wanting him to stay and afraid of what might happen if he did. Her eyes carefully searched his for answers—answers to questions yet to be asked.

He ached to hold her in his arms, to kiss her…to love her. He could not help himself. He closed the gap between them and pulled her close. One sweet kiss as he barely brushed her lips with his. He waited, hovering, awaiting her reaction. She trembled in his arms. Was it fear, desire, or both? The turmoil in her eyes spoke volumes; it said all that she could not. His lips consumed hers as he kicked the front door closed.

He gently parted her lips with his tongue, losing himself in her sweet lips. She tentatively wrapped her arms around his waist as she took the next step. He moved one hand to the nape of her neck, pulling her into him. His other hand slid slowly down to the small of her back.

My God, he was drowning.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew he needed to stop, but could he? This was too much…too soon. He struggled to regain some semblance of self-restraint, to soften the kiss, to break away. Her ragged breathing matched his own.

“Alexandria, I….”

The thickness of his voice made her quiver at the pure, raw emotion of his words.

“Alexandria, if I don’t stop now, I won’t be able to stop at all.”

There were no words. Her eyes melted into golden pools of hot liquid, soft and shimmering, calling to the deepest part of him. “Then don’t,” was her breathy response against his lips.

A growl, low and sensual, rose from the depth of his soul as he covered her lips with his. His desire for Alexandria was more than he could bear. He fought for control—control of himself and control of the situation. Alexandria pressed hard against his chest, her heart beating within his. The heat of her touch scorched his skin as her hands tentatively wandered to his rib cage, tracing the contours of his muscles.

He was lost in time and space, taking every breath she gave. Giving her his pride, his reason, his everything. He was too far gone. She would be his for without this woman, he could no longer breathe.

In one swift motion, he scooped her into his arms and carried her to the bedroom. He let her body slowly slide down the full-length of him. He then placed both hands on her face, forcing her to look into his eyes. He had to be sure. His knees buckled…in the depth of her eyes was the home of every silent prayer he had ever had. His breath caught in his throat. “Alexandria,” he whispered as his lips met hers, passionate and warm.

The rush of heat slowly spread throughout her body, like hot embers floating into the sky as the gentle night air sent them coursing through her veins as he devoured her lips. After a while, it stopped being a kiss. It changed—changed into something more, transcending them into something new, something complete, something magical.

Somewhere deep in the recesses of his mind, he heard a voice. He froze. Alexandria must have sensed the sudden awareness, and her body tensed. It was Alexandria’s voice mail. Phillip was leaving a message. He had not heard the phone ring. Before they could move or speak, his cell phone rang. Damn, it was Phillip! He took a deep breath and answered the call.

“Good evening, Phillip.”

“The trip went well, sir.”

“Yes, I am just dropping Alexandria off now.”

“Yes sir, I’ll have her call you right away.”

“Goodnight.”

He stood in silence, holding Alexandria against him for a long moment. “I should go,” he said tenderly as he caressed her cheek.

Alexandria nodded in understanding. Reluctantly, she walked him to the door.

He dipped his head for one last tender kiss as he whispered, “I don’t know that I am capable of fully understanding what you’ve been through, but I care for you deeply. When you are ready…I want to be the person you trust…with everything.”

“You already are.”

“Don’t forget to call your father. Good night, my darling,” he bid as he kissed her on the forehead.

After several long deep breaths, she picked up the phone and dialed her father. “Hi, Father.”

He immediately lit into her for making him worry. She rolled her eyes and sighed at the situation as he continued to express his concern for her safety.

“Father, I said I was sorry, I didn’t mean to worry you.”

“Everything is fine. I just forgot to turn my cell on after we landed.”

“No, we just took a later flight this morning, that’s all.”

“Yes, I’m fine.”

Hmm,
tomorrow. No, I don’t think I can make dinner. I need to unpack and take care of a few things; it has been a long couple of weeks.”

“Yes, I’ll see you and mother on Sunday.”

“I love you too, good night.”

Her chest felt as though it would burst. It hurt to breathe. She ached to be in Brad’s arms. Before she could stop it, the cry of frustration escaped her lips as the phone flew across the room, slamming hard against the wall, falling into pieces on the floor.

Feeling as if she had been denied her one perfect moment in time. Her world shattered and crumbled beneath her feet. Alexis headed for the shower. Clothes hit the floor along the way—she simply didn’t care. Stepping into the shower, she tried to relax. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to be drenched in the coolness of the water. From nowhere, Alexis could feel Brad’s breath against her neck—his touch on her back…his lips on hers. Her skin tingled with sensations. In her mind, she was safe, so she let her thoughts run free.

She was back in his arms, his heart beating in time with hers, each breathing the other into themselves. Two hearts becoming one. She fit snugly against his body, which was hot to her touch. His manhood had been pressed hard against her, throbbing with need.

Her own body betrayed her. Her breast became firmer. The rush of heat had started in her heart and spread throughout her entire body. She felt as though she was on fire, being consumed by his flame. Her insides had quivered in anticipation, need, and desire. Her silky liquid had soaked her panties. She imagined how he would have undressed her, touched her…until eventually, he slid his hard shaft deep inside her, driving the demons away with each thrust until they no longer existed. Alexandria was shaking with needs she did not understand, but in that moment, she would have given Brad anything he wanted.

Downtown D.C. was a long drive home. No matter how many times he told himself it was for the best—God, he wanted…no,
needed
her. Alexandria was the first woman who made him think—made him feel—without even trying. Her body was so soft against his, so full of love, hope, and promise. The taste of her sweet lips and the heat radiating from her body had threatened to consume them both. Her breasts so full and tight; he could feel her erect nipples straining against what he imagined was a delicate lacy bra, as he held her.

He didn’t need to touch her secret spot to know she was wet—so wet and so ready for him. For all the things she had been through, she still wanted him like no woman he had ever known. Not for money, not for statue, not for what a man could give her. Instead, she wanted what only he could give her…himself. She had chosen him. Although, he could not fathom why. Alexandria was stunning and any man would fall at her feet. When she looked at him with the look of pure love and absolute trust, he had felt the greatest honor of his life. He was worth something more than a means to an end…more than a showpiece. Tonight, she had shown him she trusted him completely, trusted him with her heart, her soul, and her body. He could not have wished for a greater treasure.
Damn
Phillip!

Who would have thought two people could come so far in just a few short months? She had been aloof in the beginning, then somewhere along the way she showed him her charming and witty self, and then…this trip happened and
everything
changed!

Brad arrived to a cold and empty home.
Alexandria should be here with me,
he growled to no one in particular as he poured a glass of scotch and downed it in one swig. He had never felt so lonely, not even as a child. He poured another. He picked up the phone, slammed it back down, and picked it up again. Ah hell, he dialed her number.

“Alexandria, I just wanted to check on you. Are you okay?”

She responded, “Yes…no, I miss you.” Her words flooded out in a rush.

She never ceased to amaze him. She was so direct and it infuriated him; yet, he admired her for her courage. He wondered if she would always have that effect on him. He sure hoped so.

“Will you be able to sleep tonight?” he asked softly.

She did not bother to lie, “No.”

“Please try to get some rest.”

“I will. What about you?”

He tried to lighten the strain of the evening. “Where’s a cup when you need one?”

She burst out laughing, “Does that mean you will do it?”

“Alexandria,” he growled in a playful tone.

“Just kidding,” she teased.

“How about if I pick you up at ten in the morning?”

“What do you have in mind?” she asked coyly.

“It’s a surprise, but I think you will like it.”

Mmm,
I’m sure I will. What should I wear?”

“Something comfortable.”

“Got it.”

“Good, then go to bed and get some sleep,” he replied with reverence, “good night, my darling Alexandria.”

Well, he felt somewhat better; he needed a good hot shower. The heat from the water relaxed his tight muscles. He let it wash everything away, except Alexandria. She floated in his mind like an angel hovering above a lost soul, waiting to heal all things broken. Those glorious golden eyes peered deep within him, seeing the darkness and shining a light on it, making him pure again. He inhaled deeply as if to smell her exotic scent. What a terrible mistake. The flames of desire were lit by all that she was. Her body against his, the smoothness of her skin, the tenderness of her touch. In the deep recesses of his mind, the knowledge rose…her flame would take him to heights he had never known.

He was coming undone; his hand reached for his manhood as his imagination wandered even further. The soap would not begin to compare to her luxurious, silky wetness. He stroked himself as he imagined she would do one day. The thought of his manhood pressed against her supple legs—finally delving into the center of her being. His body shuddered at the image of her sultry gaze locked on him as they made love for the first time. In no time, he gave up his steel resolve and brought himself to a satisfying but unfulfilling climax.
