“Craig…I can’t…”

Leaving her breast, he moved down her body and shifted her legs apart with his shoulder. When he kissed her center, her body jerked. He placed his hand on her stomach to keep her in place as his tongue glided over the soft, wet, warm skin. When he sucked her swollen clit into his mouth, she exploded on the spot.

Once her spasm had slowed, he reached down for his jeans, grabbed a condom, and hovered over her still-quivering body. “Look at me, Lindsey.”

When she opened her eyes, he bent down and kissed her. She gasped as he pushed inside her, filling her until he thought he’d die. Watching her eyes, he gave her a minute to take him in. When she licked her lips, he began to move inside her. In and out. Slowly at first. Then faster and harder until her body clenched around him, signaling her release. With a final thrust, he called out her name, his body shuddering as he held her tightly in his arms.

Lying in bed, Lindsey ran her finger up and down Craig’s muscular arm. The arm that was still holding her tight against his body, the body that had just brought her world crumbling down around her.

He kissed her temple. “I don’t think I’m ready for round two quite yet.”

She smiled and lifted his hand to her lips and kissed his palm.

“You’re awful quiet.”

Her fingers intertwined with his, and she sighed.

“And that didn’t sound like a satisfied sigh.”

Lindsey stayed quiet for a moment. Well, quiet on the outside. Inside, her mind was reeling with the fact that she’d just slept with her boss. Not exactly her boss but close enough. Worst of all, she wanted him again.

“Lindsey?”

She turned to face him, realizing he was propped up on his elbow, watching her. She eyed his chest, and then her gaze moved up to his shoulders, his neck, and finally connected with his eyes. “Did you mean it when you said you don’t play games?”

His hand was moving up and down her stomach while his thumb grazed the underside of her breast. He simply smiled at her. A warm, caring smile that completely undid her. “This, whatever this is between us, is not a game with me.”

Closing her eyes, she shook her head. “This is insane. The two of us…”

“Fit together perfectly.” His fingers pinched her nipple, forcing a moan from her lips.

“You do remember that I have control issues, right?” She arched her body closer to him as his knee found its way between her thighs.

“I think that’s something we should work on, together.”

Her finger brushed along his jaw. “And how might we do that?”

He grinned at her as his head moved closer to her breast. His mouth took in the tight tip and rolled it around his tongue, causing her to gasp.

“I think first and foremost we do more of this.” His teeth raked over the sensitive skin, and she arched her body into him.

Before she knew it, he was pushing inside her again, and she was panting his name, all worries and concerns gone from her thoughts.

The next morning, Lindsey’s dreams were of Craig and all of the pleasure he’d given her the night before, and she hoped he’d give her again. Feeling the mattress give, she blinked her eyes, trying to adjust her vision in the dark room, and found Craig dressed and smiling at her.

“What time is it?” she asked while rubbing her eyes.

“Early. I don’t want anyone seeing me coming out of your room.”

She looked down, dread filling her gut.

“I’m not running out on you, Lindsey.” He lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him. “I meant what I said last night. I don’t play games. I know this scares you, but promise me this isn’t just a one-time thing. Have dinner at my place on Monday. Maybe we can work on your control issues again.”

Pushing up on her elbow, her right hand moved behind his head, pulling him in for a sensual kiss.

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

Chapter 11

Sitting at his desk, signing his name to various hats, T-shirts, posters, and other merchandise, Craig found himself looking up at his door. It was after nine at night, and no one was in the office, so he wasn’t sure why he kept the hopeful watch for Lindsey.

Yes, he did. He missed her.

Sitting back in his chair, he shook his hand in the air, trying to get the blood to flow to his fingers again. He must have signed his name a hundred times today. He never quite understood why people wanted his signature on things, but he did understand it was part of being a NASCAR driver. With fame came responsibilities, schedules, and very little private time. It didn’t use to bother him. Well, it didn’t until he and Lindsey had gotten together. Now he’d do just about anything for a few moments alone with her. Moments that involved his hands all over her naked body, doing things to her that caused her body to quiver.

He closed his eyes and sighed, wondering if she was avoiding him since he really hadn’t seen her much this week.
She wouldn’t do that.
Or at least he hoped things hadn’t come to that.

When they were at Michigan and Sonoma, they were actually together a lot, but there were always others around—the crew, fans, security. If it weren’t for him sneaking into her hotel room at night, he’d have gone nuts by now. He’d hoped to see her more when they were home in Charlotte, but that wasn’t working out any better. Tonight was a perfect example of that. Work seemed to get in the way for both of them.

Deep down, he knew that wasn’t all, though. Lindsey was stressed about keeping their relationship a secret. She had a lot to lose if it got out. As much as Craig tried to reassure her that nothing would happen to her job, he really wasn’t sure what Jud would think or do if he found out.
Somehow I’ve got to make this work…for both of us.

Rubbing his hand down his face, he went back to signing the last of the posters. When he finished, he turned off the light to his office and headed for his truck. Stepping outside, the summer heat hit him in the face as he noticed the sun was just about to disappear in the western sky. Then he saw Lindsey’s car still parked in her usual spot. “What’s she still doing here?”

Looking around, the lot was empty except for his truck and her car. Using his key, he let himself back into the building and took the elevator to her floor. When the door opened, he found the hallway dark, with a single light coming from her office. Walking to her door, he leaned against the frame unnoticed, watching her work. “Little late to be working, isn’t it?”

She jumped at the sound of his voice and grabbed her chest. “Damn it, Craig. You scared me to death!”

“Sorry.” He laughed, unable to hide a broad smile. “Didn’t mean to scare you, just surprised to see you still here at this hour.”

“Since we’re at Daytona this weekend entertaining a lot of our sponsors, I just wanted to go over everything one more time to make sure I have everything I need.”

Craig walked around her desk, standing next to her chair. “I just finished signing all the merchandise. My hand’s killing me.” He was stretching his hand when he leaned against her desk and looked at her. “So, you almost done?”

“I just have one more e-mail I need to return.” She studied him for a moment as she sat back in her chair. “I’m curious about something. Did you say something to Dirk, or did you threaten him?”

“Why do you ask?”

“Because since Pocono, he’s been…
nice
to me. He’s not pushing or yelling at me, and he didn’t ask for any more time with you this weekend in Daytona. My guess is you have something to do with his sudden change.”

Craig looked down and then reached over for her hand, playing with her fingers. “I might have had a word with him, making sure he understood
you
were in charge of my schedule.”

He looked up and saw the smile on her face, and it warmed him. He wasn’t able to do a lot for her since their relationship was a secret, but getting that creep Dirk off her back was something he
had
to do. “So did you see the new car for the Brickyard? It came in this afternoon.”

“Hadn’t heard about. How’s it look?”

He lifted his head, still smiling. “Finish up that e-mail, and I’ll take you downstairs and show it to you.”

Craig turned on the lights for the far end of the garage then took Lindsey’s hand as they walked down the aisle to see the car.

“Wow. That looks even better than the sketches I saw.” Her eyes lit up, and her hand caressed the car.

He thought about those hands caressing certain parts of him, parts that were suddenly in need of some attention. His gaze traveled up her long legs and moved up her body as he stepped closer to her. “You know, this sponsorship with the children’s hospitals in Charlotte and Indianapolis was a great idea.” He was standing next to her at the driver’s side door. “There’s even a message about donating inside.”

Lindsey cocked her head at him. “Really?”

“Yeah.” He bent down, leaning inside the car with her and pointing to the dash. “Every time the onboard camera is used, viewers will see the message.”

“That’s really great, Craig.” Lindsey backed out of the car and stopped suddenly. “Oops. I’m caught on something.”

Craig moved closer and saw her bracelet was caught on part of the netting. But instead of freeing her, he looped the netting over her wrist a few more times.

“What are you doing?”

Pressing her body against the car, he inhaled her scent. He leaned in and kissed the base of her neck, moving up behind her ear.

“Seriously, Craig. This really isn’t the—”

His mouth covered her soft, luscious lips, silencing her protest as his hands moved down her sides to her hips. Slowly, his fingers began lifting up her suit skirt.

Lindsey’s hands flew down to her skirt, trying to stop Craig from having his wicked way with her in the garage. Her right hand did, at least. Her left hand was now tied up in the window netting and unable to move. Pulling back her head, she eyed him. “What are you doing?”

“I thought since you’re tied up, I’d have my merry way with you.” His brow rose, and his smile grew, causing her pussy to ache.

“Look, Craig…” Her voice cracked, and whatever thoughts were in her head suddenly disappeared when his hand slipped between her legs.

“Seems you’re just as turned on right now as I am.”

A slight whimper escaped her lips as his finger moved purposely over her clit. Her left hand fisted in the netting while her right hand held on to the door frame for support as her legs turned to spaghetti. He pressed his hard cock into her thigh, and with his hand behind her head, he pulled her into a hungry, desperate kiss.

His thumb stroked through her silky folds. When his finger pushed inside, her control and thoughts melted away, and she thrust her hips forward to him.

“I want to fuck you right here against this car Lindsey. I want to watch you lose control, feel your body shudder and contract with my cock inside you.”

Two fingers now slid inside her, and her legs almost gave out. He pressed harder against her body, trying to supporting her as his fingers moved deeper inside her. Her heart was racing, and the cool metal against her bare ass contrasted with heat from his touch. Her head fell back against the car, and her eyes slid shut.

Craig cupped her head from behind then lifted and brought her to him. His tongue plunged inside her mouth in an erotic dance with her own, while his fingers continued to work their magic between her legs. It wasn’t long before his thumb glided over her clit with just enough pressure to send her spiraling over the edge as she cried out his name.

Slowly he pulled away from her lips, pressing his forehead to hers. Both of them were panting, desperate for air. His erection still pressed against her thigh, but she was far too spent to do much about it. Only when he moved his thigh between her legs did she dare open her eyes.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a foil wrapper.

“Do you just keep those on hand all the time?”

He grinned at her. “Isn’t that the Boy Scout motto? Always be prepared?”
