I moved my hips against his. He put another hand under my shirt and lifted it up and over my head. I lifted my arms to make it easier and he threw it to the side.

“I always forget how stunning you are,” he mumbled between kisses. His hands were on my bare breasts, massaging them. My body was hot and feverish.

My fingers found his shirt buttons and I undid them one by one. I slipped the shirt over his shoulders, feeling his skin under my fingertips. The muscle rippled under his skin when he moved. He was well built, no fat on him and a bronze tan from spending so much time in the sun. I ran my hands down over his chest and then his stomach. I broke the kiss and leaned forward, putting my mouth on his left pectoral. I kissed it down to his nipple, over it, and down the middle of his stomach where the muscles were divided.

His body shuddered under my mouth.

I didn’t get far down before he pulled me up and kissed me, the kissing more urgent. He lifted me enough to carry me and moved toward the bed, laying me down on my back. He pulled the satin shorts off without ceremony, and I lay naked in front of him.

He looked at me like he’d never seen me naked before. His eyes roamed my body and lingered on my breasts, my stomach, and then between my legs. His gaze was heavy, like he was already touching me.

“You’re still dressed,” I said almost in a whisper. He shook his head, a smile playing on his lips, and undid his buckle. He pushed the faded jeans down and over his knees, and climbed onto the bed. The pants fell to the floor with a rustle. He’d lost his boots somewhere already but I hadn’t noticed when.

His body was lean and taut, and I wanted to wrap myself around it. He was stiff and hard, his cock betraying how eager he was to get inside of me. But he fought the lust and crawled over me until his face was in line with mine. He lay down, his body half-draped over mine, half on the bed. He kissed me again.

His cock lay thick and hard against my hip, the tip dripping a slick trail of lust on my skin.

I had my hand on his hip, and his hip ground against my body. I had the other hand on his shoulder.

He dipped his head and kissed me on my left nipple before he took it in his mouth and sucked on it. My body was on fire, heat surging through me, and I craved his body. I pressed my hand against his hip, telling him where I wanted him to go.

He didn’t listen. Instead he moved his free hand down between my legs. He propped himself on his other elbow to keep his weight off me, and he licked circles around my nipple. His fingers pushed into the slit and over my clit, hard and sensitive. I squirmed when he touched me, brushing his fingers’ tips over it.

He dipped two fingers into me, and then spread the wetness over my clit and kept rubbing in small circles. I moved my hips in the same motion, grinding against his fingers, against his cock pushing into the side of my hip.

He moved his head back up and kissed me. With that movement he repositioned his body, his fingers leaving my clit. I didn’t have time to think or complain before he pushed his head against the entrance and I gasped.

It was like electricity jolted my body. I’d been in control until now, but my breathing was becoming erratic and I closed my eyes. He pushed against me, his cock sliding into me, and I moaned. He pulled out slightly, teasing me, and I opened my eyes.

His eyes were on mine, face so close I could see the flecks of green in his blue eyes, and then he pushed into me all the way. I moaned as he pushed the length of him into me, and when he was in right up to the hilt, I gasped.

It felt like ages since I’d been with him. Maybe it had been that long.

“Oh my gosh, Justin,” was all I managed to get out before he started moving inside me. He pulled out and the friction was delicious. He pushed back in again and I moaned with the movement. He had his gaze on me, but I closed my eyes and focused on what I was feeling. His body against mine, skin on skin with nothing between us. The length of him buried inside me, thick and eager. My wetness, making him slick, my body clamping around him and drawing him in.

I opened my eyes again and lifted my head slightly to kiss him. He came down to me, and pushed his tongue into my mouth. He moved his hips at the same time and my body was filled with him.

He started moving in a rhythm, sliding in and out, building an orgasm inside me. My body tightened, and I felt every inch of him as he pushed into me and pulled back out. He leaned on his elbows on either side of me and his shoulder muscles showed the strain. I dug my nails into them and he gasped.

His hips took over and he started pumping into me with a natural rhythm. He had his head in my neck, mouth by my ear and I could hear him panting. His breath was hot against my neck.

Small whimpering, moaning sounds escaped my lips. I lay beneath him, giving myself over to him, letting him do to my body what he liked.

The orgasm kept building. He brought me closer and closer to the edge. My body was hot and numb all at the same time. I felt him lengthen even more inside of me, and I became impossibly full. He was getting closer and closer, too.

He moved his arm, put one hand on my breast and tugged at my nipple. That sent me over the edge and I cried out. White light flooded through my body in a rush of heat. It started from my core and then spread outwards until it reached my extremities. I forgot about everything, and I rode the sensation until it let me go. My body bucked and curled around Justin. He kept going, pushing his hips against mine, pushing into me.

He came as well, I felt him pulsate inside of me. A shudder ripped through his body and he groaned in my ear. Then he fell quiet, holding still on top of me. His breathing was fast and shallow.

Slowly the glow bled out of my fingers and toes, and I was left behind gasping for air. I relaxed, body collapsing and I untwined my legs from around his hips. When I let go of his shoulders I realized how hard I’d been gripping.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you,” I said, and swallowed.

“You didn’t,” he said and pulled me against him. He slipped out of me and he just held me. I lay against his chest, the smell of sex hanging around us and our skin slick with sweat.

“Oh damn,” I said again. It had been amazing. I hadn’t had sex like that in… well I didn’t actually know how long. With my memory loss, anything was possible.

I closed my eyes, my head on his shoulder, body pressed against his. I still felt him between my legs. I sighed and he echoed it with a sigh of his own. I could just stay here in bed with him forever. I knew that at some point we would have to get back to reality. But I didn’t want to. Not yet. I would hold onto this illusion of perfection for as long as I could. Because this was what I remembered about my life.

“I missed you too, babe,” Justin finally said.

Chapter 14 - Elijah

I haven’t had any whiskey or brandy or even beer in four days. I was starting to feel pretty damn irritated. I’d managed to smooth things over with IBO Group in Miami with Sorrel Alkmaar, but only just. Business was slipping, my personal life was slipping, and I couldn’t drown it because it was because of my bad habits that things had gone wrong in the first place.

I just had to keep telling myself that. As long as it was for her then it was okay. I tried very hard to convince myself of this.

When I’d come back from Miami, Grace had looked better than she’d looked since the accident. Her skin had been glowing, her eyes were bright and she was quick to smile. Finally, I’d thought, things were getting better. She’d greeted me with a hug, but when I’d kissed her she’d pulled away again almost immediately. So we were close, but not that close. Which meant that we weren’t close at all, because I could hug my grandma.

Now it was again two days later, and there was no sign that we were alright. She was still distant with me. She didn’t share things with me unless I asked. She didn’t like physical contact when I tried to make advances, and when I left it to her, nothing at all happened. It wasn’t just frustrating, it was insulting.

It was exactly the way she’d been before I’d left, except she looked unbearably happy now. And it was starting to get on my nerves.

There was only so much rejection a man could handle before a medical excuse just wasn’t good enough anymore.

“How are you doing?” I asked her. I stood in her doorway. She sat on the bed cross legged, staring at her phone, smiling. She’d been spending so much time in the room lately, it felt like she was in a hotel after all. When she looked up, the humor drained from her face until she was empty. I didn’t like that the empty look was aimed at me.

“Who are you talking to?” I asked before she could answer my first question.

“Shonda,” she answered.

“What are you talking about?”

She pulled a face that I hadn’t seen her use before. It was strangely thrilling to see a side of her I didn’t know. I knew almost everything about her, even her switched off side, now.

“Did you really ask me that?” she asked and her voice was cold. I wanted to demand to know, but that would be a bad idea. She was distant enough already. I took a deep breath.

“Are you sure you’re feeling okay? Coping with the accident?”

She shrugged. “I’m alright. I still get headaches but they’re bearable. Not like the first couple of days.”

I nodded slowly.

“You don’t want to go see someone?” I asked again. She looked at me, suspicious, like it was weird that I was asking. But I wasn’t trying to be difficult. I didn’t have a hidden agenda. I just wanted to take care of her.

“I mean for the accident,” I said when she dismissed me by turning her eyes back to her cell phones screen. She lowered the phone into her lap and shifted on the bed.

“I can’t get therapy for what I don’t remember,” she said.

“You’re still nervous about driving. Don’t you think that’s something you should face?”

“Driving?” she asked.

I shook my head. The driving was a part of it, but she was ignoring that any of it had happened.

“The fact that you went through something terrible that’s not just going to blow over. You have to face this at some point.”

A look flickered over her face and it was close to annoyance, but I wasn’t sure. It was gone before I could read it properly.

“I’m okay, Elijah. Really.”

I sighed and leaned against the door post, putting my weight on one leg, bending the other at the knee.

“You’re just different, babe,” I said. When I called her the pet name, she glanced up at me again but there was no facial expression with that glance. “You’re distant, you keep to yourself and you hardly talk unless I ask you something. I just want to know that there’s some hope of getting you back.”

She sighed and lay back on the bed. With her body stretched out like that, it emphasized her curves. Her shirt slid up a little and I saw the dark skin on her stomach and her hips. I wanted her immediately. She’d always been a hell of a turn on, but there was something about her being vulnerable like this that made me want to be her knight in shining armor that much more.

It wasn’t just about the sex. It was about the fact that I wanted to keep her safe. Keep her happy. I looked away, but my mouth was already forming the words.

“Don’t you want to move back into the room with me? You’re isolating yourself. I don’t want you to feel you have to hide.”

When I’d mentioned her coming back to my bed, her eyes at settled on me and her expression had drained of anything I could read. She glanced away, the only hint that she was uncomfortable.

“I just need some time to figure things out, Elijah,” she said. Again, my name. Pet names were just not going to happen. “I don’t know what’s going on, and no one wants to tell me. So I have to figure it out by myself and I can’t do that pretending like nothing’s wrong.”

I balled my fists and then pushed them into my pockets so it wasn’t that obvious. My throat was dry. I had to get a drink of water or something to ease up the raw flesh I could feel in my throat. I was so thirsty. The rejection stung. She didn’t want me. She didn’t want me to help her. She didn’t remember choosing me, I got that. But I didn’t believe she didn’t want anything to do with the outside world until she sorted herself out.

If Justin were here, she would take him straight away. She wouldn’t reject him like this. It was because she couldn’t remember anything else than wanting him more than me. It had hurt when it had happened, six months ago. I wasn’t up for a replay.

Thank goodness she was living with me. At least I could control who she saw. I could control him seeing her.
