We were quiet for a bit, just swaying to the music and watching the hundreds of familiar and unfamiliar faces. “This is some wedding.” I mused looking around.

“Compromise.” He chuckled, his southern accent lingering. “She gets the big wedding of her dreams, and the honeymoon she wants.”

“And you get?” I waited for him to finish.

He shrugged. “We get to move out of the house in Pasadena. The one her parents gave her. We move into our own house, that we pay for, together.”

Though this was the first time of me hearing this side of their reason for moving, it made complete sense. They were all set to go to their new house in Bowie the moment that they were back from their honeymoon. Jackson was the epitome of southern gentlemen, so the tradition of him providing the roof would be a given. Though I was sure Tink didn’t see it that way, she would give him whatever he wanted, because he did the same for her. Love at is finest.

"What’s the work load at Gravity going to be like when we’re gone?"

Jackson asked, tilting his head at me.

"I thought no work at your wedding?" I teased, biting my bottom lip, but I answered when he huffed sweetly but impatiently, because in all reality, he was a team player. "Busy," I stated with a shrug. "But we will manage. Danny and Jeff are in town for a while. Hell Victor is staying with Liam and Joanne for a bit too. Dario and Macon have an author they're meeting at the airport tomorrow. He's to be guarded while he's here for the next three days. Adrian and Ross...and possibly Jeff...will be helping with your cases. I have the Morgan case. Kristen and Doc are handling the home office and filling in when needed."

"If you need anything, you call Tink, while we're gone, okay?" he said, his voice taking on an urging tone.

"Who is the boss here?” I joked and then went serious, “Jackson, we'll be fine," I sighed, smirking up at him, but looked down when there was a tug on my dress. "Hey guy did you get some dances in?"

"Yup!" he beamed, completely forgetting that he fell.

I could see Tawny talking to the wedding director and she signaled me. I sent Juan off to find Ross as I went to search for Tink as our group assembled to see them off privately after the public one. “It’s time for you to leave.”

Warm, strong arms wrapped around me from behind, as I felt kisses being placed to the back of my head. I leaned back into Adrian, sighing contentedly in the comfort he unknowingly brought with him.

"You two take care of each other," Liam ordered with a pointing finger before giving Jackson a strong handshake.

“We will, Pops," Jackson snorted.

"Go...have a good time. Check in when you can." Joanne encouraged.

Adrian and I both walked to Tink, who was wearing a beautiful dress in the prettiest of cream colors. The corset solid dark grey with a lace design. "A month is too long," Tink sniffled, tears filling her eyes. "I'll miss you all too much."

"You won't have a chance," Adrian teased her, kissing her cheek. "Jackson will keep you too busy. I'm pretty sure he's going to show you just about every inch of Peru."

"Relax, enjoy being away from whiny clients for a while, and you get Jackson all to yourself," I chuckled, kissing her cheek. “You look beautiful Margaux.”

She wiped her eyes, “Normally, I would say that my face doesn’t score high enough, but I got a look at myself today before the wedding, and I feel confident in accepting that compliment.”

“FINALLY!” Kristen celebrated kissing her on the cheek too.

"You guys be careful with what work you do, and don’t hesitate to call us if you need us, I will be linked to home system at all times,” she urged.

“Make sure she turns her phone off.” Doc ordered shaking her head.

With more hugs, more kisses, and a few dirty honeymoon innuendos thrown their way from Macon and Danny, Jackson and Tink dove into the limo.

"I'm glad we get to stay at the mansion," Adrian mumbled softly against my temple. "You look tired."

"I am," I snorted, looking up at him "Exhausted, actually, and we have to be back at the house tomorrow."

"Well, head to the room, Honeyface," he sighed, placing kisses on the nape of my neck. "Get in bed. I'll finish up with the wedding guy."

“Careful with him." I chuckled at Adrian’s eye roll. "He thinks you're oh-so-cute."

"I am aware, Alyssa” Adrian answered dryly, snorting at my giggle. "Though, I may be in the clear, because ever since the pictures, he's been eying Macon."

"Well, good. You're mine," I threatened dramatically, smiling at his grunt of agreement. "Don’t be too long," I requested, scooping up Juan as he ran by with a group of kids, ignoring his protest. “I’m going to lay Juan down for Doc, but I’d like some time alone with you before I hit the covers.”

“All I need is twenty minutes baby” he promised before I headed upstairs.

Adrian

"Beautiful family," I heard behind me as I walked from the mansion, looking at man in his mid-forties standing in the archway.

"Thanks." I smiled politely, not wanting to go through the trouble of explaining that Juan wasn’t mine, and Alyssa wasn’t my wife. Besides, I liked the sound of it, though I didn't recognize him at all. But there were like, a million guests at this fucking wedding, so I just continued with my hunt to find the director.

"Hey, Adrian!" Doc called, rushing to the doorway of the reception hall. "The guys want to know if you'll help load the presents, so Macon can take them to the house for Jackson. And that Stephen guy needs someon

a someon

to sign that the whole she-bang is over and done with."

I nodded, turning to look for the man, but he was gone. When I looked back up at Doc, she was staring down the hall. "What?"

"He looked...familiar," she mumbled, her brow wrinkling.

"I thought you didn't forget faces," I teased her, heading back to the ballroom with her.

"I don't," she grumped, giving one more glance behind us. “Is Alyssa upstairs with Juan?”

“Yep, and I am desperately trying to get back to her, so where is the damn wedding planner?”

It took me longer than the twenty minutes that I'd promised my girl. After narrowly escaping the gawking gazes of Steven, the wedding planner, I had to make sure the director was notified that everything was done, that all the guests had left, and help Dad, Ross, and Dario load up Macon’s Jeep with all the presents to take back. I also escorted a very tired Kristen to her room, while Macon made the present run.

I finally stepped into our suite, to find the lights off in the sitting area, but a dim glow coming from the master bedroom. Juan was already with Doc and Ross, and Alyssa was scrambling around the room getting everything she needed to shower and get out of her dress.

"Damn," I sighed, shaking my head, because she looked so sweet, so fucking perfect. There were times when I thought my chest would explode with the love I had for that woman.

I shrugged out of my jacket looking for what I needed in the pocket. I opened the doors to the balcony letting the cool air wake me up a bit. She came out behind me. “Hey, I need you to unzip me.” She requested turning her back to me expectant.

Her curves practically compelled me to run my fingers along the zipper, but not opening the dress. I instead planted kisses on the back of her shoulders. Her skin looking so different from even a few months ago. Her scars practically fading.

She turned around to kiss me, a slow deep kiss. The ones that left me wanting more every time. She pulled away her eyes closed, a soft moan escaping her bottom lip that was being held prisoner by her teeth.

“What?” I asked seductively, wrapping my arm around her, her head resting on my chest automatically.

"You smell goo

like scotch and cake icing...all sweet and smoky."

I chuckled, pressing myself closer to her. "I might have indulged in both before coming to the room. The bartender was cleaning up and had just enough for a glass left over in a bottle. Heaven forbid it go to waste."

"And the icing?" She asked not looking up. We swayed side to side, hearing no music but each other heartbeats.

"I helped pack up that monstrosity for Macon to take to Jackson’s.”

My girl giggled softly as she pushed herself against me, and I caught up to her quickly. Apparently, she wasn't
too
tired. I pulled her face back so that I could see her in the dim light shining from the hallway. Her eyes were dark as I pressed my forehead to hers, my hands slipping down to her ass.

"Chance…”  I breathed, trying to keep a clear head but fuck, if she didn't feel good. She was all warm, and she'd been pushing my limits throughout the entire wedding, because she'd just looked so fucking beautiful.

"I want you," she moaned, her eyes rolling back when one of my hands cupped her ass.

“I want you.”  I admitted. “I love you.”

“You love me?” She repeated seductively, unbuttoning my shirt slowly. Her response whenever I told her I loved her. I continued with my normal response to her question.

“You know I do.” I exhaled. “You love me?”

“Don’t I
show
you?” She challenged with a smir

her normal smart ass answer that I loved.

I reached in my pocket and opened the box that had been burning a hole in my pocket all night. I answered with my always honest answer. “Every day.”

She was perfect, we had a perfect view of the mountain, and it was the perfect time. I kissed her, bringing the ring up to her view. Her eyes grew wide when she noticed me lowering on one knee. “Marry me Chance.”

Chapter 1- Morgan File

“What do you mean you said ‘no’!?” Tink shrieked walking into the safe house just outside of D.C. Her plane landed bringing her back from her honeymoon not even a full three hours ago, and she came straight to Germantown to yell at me.

“Been there, done that,” Doc muttered folding towels with Joanne. “She doesn’t want to talk about it.”

“Well I want to talk about it!” Tink fumed stomping behind me after shutting the front door. “Why in heavens name would you say
no
?!”

“More than once on top of that.” Doc added, not being helpful. Bringing up the fact that Adrian had not only proposed to me after Margaux’s wedding, but twice after that over the course of her absence.

I sighed, “I’m not the marrying type, and you know that. Adrian and I talked about it, and he understands that I’m not ready.
We’re
fine with it, so you should be too.”

“This isn’t over.” Tink threatened.

Joanne let out a mild laugh folding each hand towel perfectly. “It’s crazy, the man of your dreams proposes to you three times, in three weeks. The man of my dreams hasn’t popped the question yet and it’s been three years.”

There was a hint of sadness in her joke, and I felt bad. It was known amongst the girls that Joanne had been waiting on a proposal. She even had hopes all of the wedding commotion would put the idea in his head, that maybe it was their time soon, but nothing.

It wasn’t that Liam was a horrible man, because he wasn’t, he was damn near perfect in fact. He just hadn’t, and Joanne didn’t want to mess things up by bringing it to his attention. Unfortunately, the rest of us had to take the road of staying out of it, though it didn’t stop us from talking about it when the boys weren’t around.
