“You aren’t human, my dear.
Not all human anyway.
There are things you should know before you meet up with that horrid man again.”

~CHAPTER 11~

Aaron watched the girl sleep.
He’d been told by Sara what had happened today and what Mel and the others had told her about her birth and what she was.
Sara said that Cade had not said much, but she knew that Cade was going to need answers about what she was later.
That’s why he was waiting for her to wake.
When she opened her eyes and stared at him he waited for her to speak first.

“I’m part vampire, they said.
That woman Eliz said that my father was a vampire and that my mother, my real mother, was a faerie.
She didn’t know how I ended up with those people, but she said she could maybe find out.
She said she’d even find my parents or find out if both of them were dead.”

Aaron let her talk.
He knew that she had questions, he could practically feel them brimming around in her head.
But she calmly told him what she knew.
He let her even though he had been told yesterday before Eliz and the others had come to tell Cade what she was. “I’m sorry for your loss, Cade.
I’m sorry more that you never knew your parents.
Is there anything I can answer for you?”

“I know that this is stupid, but I don’t suppose you know my father?
I don’t know if there are lots of your kind out there, or if you have some sort of...I don’t know.
I was going to say connection, but I’m not sure that’s what I meant either.”

“I knew of your father.
I’d never met him, but I’d heard stories about him.
Sara said his name was Vladimir Michaels.
He’s very old and very powerful. I have someone searching for him now.
I don’t know yet if he’s alive.
He was a born vampire rather than a made one, like me.
His family was part of the first vampires ever known.
The reason I never felt your connection is because your Faerie mother had put a protection about you.
Mel was able to break it down and figure out the magic and then the signature of the person who made it.
Mel will have more information later, I’m told.
She said to tell you that she knows who your mother was and has her things for you.
I’m not sure what that entails, but she’ll explain.”

“What happens now?
I mean, I don’t have...I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with this information.
Mrs. MacManus...Sara showed me some things.

Will I now burn up in the sun?
I’m so...what do I do now?”

“The information tells you what you are, Cade, it doesn’t define you.

The protection kept you from changing when you needed to.
According to Mel’s grandmother you’ll be able to shift now and whatever magic you had before, it’ll be stronger now.
And more varied.
The sun won’t bother you because you are only part vamp.
You can drink blood if you want or not.”

She didn’t say anything, but stared into the room.
Aaron felt Shawn coming near them. Aaron had asked him to come now.
His memory was coming back in leaps and bounds, but the reason he’d been attacked at the bar still eluded him.

“I can feel Shawn coming.
He’s very close.
I think...he’s at the nurses’ station.
What will he think when he finds out, Mr. MacManus?”

“He’ll be fine with it, Cade.
I’d like for you to call me Aaron.
You are now a part of my Kiss and as such will need to learn the rules of the realm.
I’m now your master until you find one that you’d like to pledge to.
Shawn will be able to tell you all that that entails.
I’m going to go now. Someday soon you will pledge yourself to me or someone like me.
Until then you may reach me at anytime.
Cade, as a member of my Kiss I will protect you.
It is my duty to do so whether you want it or not.
It will be a broken law of my kind if I don’t.”

Cade didn’t say anything.
When Shawn opened the door he had a dozen red roses and a box of candy in his hands.

Aaron might have laughed at any other time, but didn’t.
He thought about stopping on his way back to the mansion to pick up some flowers for Sara.
And maybe a nice little outfit that he could tear from her body.
He felt his cock harden at the thought and shimmered from the room with a nod to Shawn.

~~~
Shawn laid the flowers on the table and the chocolate next to it.
He could feel Cade’s emotions. They were strong and varied.
Mostly she was confused.
He couldn’t blame her for that.
In the two weeks
since
he’d met her she’d been through a great deal.
He didn’t say anything, but slipped off his shoes and his shirt.
He was taking off his pants when she turned to look at him.
He thought he’d have to argue with her, but she simply rolled back over and moved more to the edge of the bed.
He left his boxers on, slid into the bed behind her, and spooned against her.
“I don’t have a job anymore.
Paul called me today and told me that he was really sorry, but I’d missed too much work and he’d had to replace me.
He still wants me to be his friend.
I haven’t worked for the MacManuses much either so I don’t have that job either, I guess.
Penny will be returning on Monday now so I guess it doesn’t matter.”
Shawn almost told her that she didn’t need to work, that he would take care of her, but simply kissed her shoulder.
He pulled her body close to his and held her as she continued to speak.
“Mel said that I’m part vampire.
I don’t have a sudden carving for blood, but she said that was okay.
Aaron said my father was a pureblood, a born vampire.
I didn’t know there was such a thing.
What are you?”
“Turned.
My maker thought I’d make a great addition to her bedroom.
Purebloods are rare.
I know that Tristan, another of the Kiss, is one as are his other family members.”
“You told me that before.
I’m sorry.
I guess...it’s been very strange these past few days.
I have to tell you something.
I...it’s about my step-brother—well, I guess he’s not my step-brother anymore.
But there’s something you should know.
He’s...that’s to say I think...Shawn, do you think we could have sex?
I really need it right now.
I know that I have a lot to tell you, but right now, I need you.”
Shawn leaned back as she rolled to her back.
She’d been crying.
Her cheeks were wet from her tears and her eyes were reddened.
In that moment he knew that he was in love with her.
Pulling her closer, he gently brushed his mouth over hers.
“I’d rather make love to you, Cade.
I think we’ve been having sex before, but now I’d rather make love with you.
And I need you right now as well.
Whatever you have to tell me can wait.
We have through eternity to tell each other.”
Cade nodded.
With trembling hands she reached up and unsnapped the buttons at her shoulders.
She didn’t pull the material away, but rolled more until she was facing him.
Looking deep into his eyes she put her hand over his heart.
“I don’t know what to do to bond with you.
Will you show me?
That’s if you still want me.”
“Yes.
I want you more than anything in this world.
Are you sure, Cade?
Once we go through with this, you’re mine and I am yours.
We will be a mated couple for all eternity.
Our lives will change when we exchange blood.
You’ll be able to do whatever I can do and I will do what you can do.”
“Yes.
I’m sure.
Sara explained it to me today.
She said that we’d have to...that we’d have to exchange blood during a climax and that it would be incredible.
I’m ready.”
Shawn felt his heart pounding through his head.
The roaring had gotten louder with her every word and when she’d said she was ready Shawn wanted to shout from the highest mountains tops.
He rolled to his back and pulled her over him.
“When we make love this time I won’t bite until we are both ready to come.
Then once we are coming I’ll bite your wrist while you drink from a wound on my chest.
I’ll make the cut and you’ll take my blood there.
The climax will be intense, but you can’t stop sipping until we are both completely finished.
Once we are finished, then you can seal the wound I make with your tongue.
Cade, I’m not going to last long.
The thought of you having your mouth over me has me harder than stone.
I want to bury myself deep inside of you.
Are you ready?”
“Yes. But I...I figured out how to make them work. Well, I didn’t.
Sara told me how to think about them, how to want them there and I felt them pulse in my mouth.
All I could think about was sinking them into you like you did me.
I don’t know if I can do it or not, but I’d like to...will you let me try to bite you first.”
Shawn’s cock hurt.
It felt as if she’d poured hot lava over it and then she’d licked him dry.
When he’d told her he was close he never anticipated her biting him.
“Show me.
Show me your fangs, love.”
When she opened her mouth and they elongated he had to close his eyes and count to ten.
She looked worried when he opened them. She was looking at him.
“That’s probably the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen.
I want you to lick my pulse like I do before I feed from you. Lick the area with your tongue and when I tell you to, bite me.
Bite me like you did my nipple that first day.
When you break the skin there my blood will fill your mouth.
Drink from me, Cade.
Suckle at my vein and join me.”
They both seemed to recognize that their lovemaking wasn’t going to last.
He moved to pull the gown away from her breast and took the hard nipple into his mouth as he rolled her to her back. She immediately wrapped her legs around his hips and surged up into him.
Reaching down to cup her ass while he moved along her ribs with his mouth, he was happy to feel that she had not replaced her panties.
When her hands grabbed at his boxers he moved his hand to the front of them and ripped them from his hips.
She giggled at him.
“If I didn’t want to ram my cock deep into you this very second I’d roll you over and beat your ass for that.
Never giggle in bed with a vamp.
It could be very painful to sit for a few days.”
