Charity leaned over, and kissed him with
every intention of watching him sleep after that, but when her lips
touched his cheek, he shifted before slowly opening an eye. He
smiled, closed his one eye, put his arm around her, and then moved
her close to his hot body. “I’m glad you stayed the night,
Charity.”

“Me, too.”

“But I’m exhausted, I have to sleep.”

“Should I go?”

“Not if you want me to get some rest. I’d
get up, follow you to your place like a puppy, and hope you’d take
a nap with me. You would, too, because I’m pretty persuasive.”

She grinned, finding his determination
enduring, and the fact he admitted it after only sleeping with her
once was sweet. She was a sucker for a man who never hid his
feelings. She pushed herself up on an elbow, needing to kiss him
again, but when the blankets fell away to her elbows she noticed
the bed had a few strands of black hair on the sheets. She stared
at it in wonder, because the hair resembled the fur of the beast
and was only around Grant as if he shed. Her gaze snapped back up
to him.

“You okay, baby?”

“Yeah.” She said, deciding the drug hadn’t
tapered off and she was still seeing things. But she wasn’t about
to start a conversation, asking him if he saw the hair, and bring
up sleeping with him last night even though she envisioned him
changing into an enormous beast. She smiled, deciding that it
didn’t matter. She had incredible sex, and as promised, she had the
