It was first seen eating scraps from a hog pen and later seen licking food remnants from a dog’s bowl. She described it as having hair all over its body with a flat, brown nose and canine teeth like a dog or baboon.

May / Fouke, Arkansas – Bobby Ford, Don Ford, Elizabeth Ford, and Charles Taylor claim to see a seven-foot tall, hairy creature several times during the night as it approached their rent house and stuck a hand through the window. Investigators later found evidence of scratches on the house and three-toed tracks in the yard.

November / Near Sarepta, Louisiana (Bayou Bodcaw) / 35 miles from Fouke – Squirrel hunter sees six-foot-tall creature with “reddish-brown hair all over its body about the length of a deer’s hair” emerge from some brush near a creek. The witness first thought it was a person but realized it was a man-like animal after it crawled up the creek bank and looked back at him. After a few seconds it “jogged up the creek until it was out of sight.” BFRO.

June / Near Caddo Lake, Texas / 39 miles from Fouke – While riding in a car at night, woman sees a “big hairy creature” run across the road and jump a fence. TBRC.

October / Bowie County, Texas (Sulphur River) / 35 miles from Fouke – While walking on a dirt road in misty fog, woman smells a “wet animal smell” and sees a figure standing at the edge of a creek. The figure was estimated to be seven feet tall with long arms, and was covered in dark hair or fur. TBRC.

May / Near Mena, Arkansas / 40 miles from Fouke – At sunset, a couple driving north on Highway 41 near the Red River encountered a seven- or eight-foot-tall figure near the road. It had “reddish-brown long hair and it stood upright with very long arms.” TBRC.

November / Wright-Patman Lake, Bowie County, Texas / 28 miles from Fouke – Late in the afternoon, a deer hunter sees a six- or seven-foot-tall creature with dark brown hair all over its body. It had a foul smell and took very long steps and “walked with a slight stoop.” TBRC.

Fall / Near Benton Lake, Texas / 42 miles from Fouke – In mid-afternoon, a hunter sees a “large, hair-covered animal.” It walked on two legs, and he was able to view the animal for two minutes from less than 50 yards away. TBRC.

November / Near Oil City, Louisiana (adjacent to Black Bayou) / 36 miles from Fouke – Hunter sees a six-foot-tall creature with shaggy, dark-brown hair walking upright on the edge of a levee. The creature approached the man until it got within 100 yards, at which point it noticed the eyewitness. It paused for three to four seconds before running off over the levee into the woods. BFRO.

Fall / Near Waskom, Texas / 50 miles from Fouke – At dawn, while in a deerstand, a hunter sees a tall creature with a hairy head, face, and neck striding over a hill on its hind legs. TBRC.

June / Northwest of Jefferson, Texas / 43 miles from Fouke – Boy has face-to-face encounter with large bipedal creature covered in hair with human-like face. He saw the creature from a distance of 9-12 yards away for 8-10 seconds.

October / Near Atlanta, Texas / 24 miles from Fouke – While driving at night on Highway 59, a group sees a tall, hairy creature run across the road and into the woods. TBRC.

October / Near Fouke, Arkansas – Two men from Oklahoma smell a pungent odor while driving on Highway 71. They pull over and see a tall, man-like creature covered in shaggy black hair, running toward the south bank of the Sulphur River. The creature was described as walking “upright just like a human, not like a bear or gorilla.”

November / Karnack, Texas / 52 miles from Fouke – A large skeleton is discovered in the woods by two hunters. The specimen is completely intact except for a missing head, tail, and claws. Suspecting that the bones might belong to the alleged Fouke Monster, the hunters take the bones from the property and give them to Smokey Crabtree.

October / Near Fouke, Arkansas – Six people (five young men in a car and one man in a semi truck) traveling on FM 134 around 11:00 p.m. stop their vehicles to watch a large, hairy animal walk upright across the road. The creature was estimated to be seven feet tall with a bulky frame covered in thick, bushy hair. It was clearly silhouetted in the headlights as it crossed the pavement and walked into a field where it disappeared into the darkness. All six witnesses got out of the vehicles and discussed the amazing sighting before leaving the scene.

Near Fouke, Arkansas – Five people (two men in a truck, a couple in a car, and a man in a semi truck) traveling on Highway 71 at approximately 2:00 a.m. stop their vehicles to observe a large, hairy animal standing on the side of the road (much like the sighting of October of 1992). The creature stood approximately 100 yards from the witnesses and was described as being ape-like, yet it moved on two legs like a man. After observing the growing crowd of people for a few moments, it turned and darted into the woods, running fast on two legs. The witnesses discussed the sighting before leaving the scene.

November / Wilton, Arkansas / 39 miles from Fouke – An individual encounters a seven-to-eight-foot-tall, black figure along a railway near dusk. Acting territorial, “it growled and had an odor worse than a skunk.” TBRC.

April / Hooks, Texas / 27 miles from Fouke – After nightfall, a landowner and friend see an ape-like creature about seven-foot tall standing behind a barn. After they shine a light on it, the creature retreated into the woods. TBRC.

December / Woodlawn, Texas / 50 miles from Fouke – While traveling at night, man and his son see a large, hairy creature kneeling near a creek a few feet from the road. TBRC.

Summer / Near Wright-Pittman Lake, Cass County, Texas / 18 miles from Fouke – After midnight, while camping, four boys witness a “figure leaning out of the tree line” from about 100 yards away. They heard crashing sounds and a loud scream. TBRC.

September / Near Fouke, Arkansas –While working on his car in the driveway, a man sees a “large, dark-brown creature” standing in the woods watching him. He approached the creature and observed it for several minutes. Deciding to retrieve his gun, he went back to his house. July / Near Fouke, Arkansas – A woman babysitting some children sees a “very large, hairy creature.” She watches them from the edge of the woods while on a morning walk. Frightened, she quickly returned to the house. GCBRO.

February / Near Vivian, Louisiana (Iron Bridge) / 27 miles from Fouke – While walking down a secluded oil field road at dusk, a man sees very large, hairy animal run quickly across the road. The creature had black fur and a “gorilla-like head,” and made a loud moaning sound as it ran. TBRC.

January / Near Fouke, Arkansas – Hunter observes a “hairy man-like creature approximately eight-foot tall” walking in a wheat field during the late afternoon. The wheat field was approximately two miles from the Sulphur River along Boggy Creek. The creature was also described as having a musky smell. TBRC.

October / Near Fouke, Arkansas – A bowhunter sees a “big black figure” approaching his tree stand before dawn. The creature reached up and grabbed his arrow with a “large black hand, very similar to the hand of a gorilla.” TBRC.
