Chapter 12

Reece

“Callie, babe. I need to go back to my room
and grab my stuff,” I shout through the bathroom door, rapping my knuckles
against it while trying to listen to her response.

“Don’t go before I come out.”

I grin when I hear her response and retreat
to look out of the window, finding it hard to believe that, until last night,
she would have left the room as soon as I walked into it.

Yanking the blinds open so I can actually
see out, I rest my forearms on the deep ledge while I stare unseeingly at the
snow-capped mountains and think about Callie and the reaction of the guys when
they know I’ve finally done something right without screwing up; at least for
now.

Looking toward the bathroom, I expect the
door to open any minute and for Callie to walk out. My blushing girl. I chuckle
remembering her reaction after I’d cleaned her up for the second time. She’d
gone bright red and refused to meet my eyes until I’d taken hold of her face
and kissed the hell out of her before picking her up in my arms and carrying
her into the shower.

The shower. I let my head fall forward
against the window. She’d nearly brought me to my knees with her hands and
mouth, but when she’d finished me off, I’d cleaned up before she kicked me out
telling me she had ‘girly’ things to do.

“You finished daydreaming?”

Turning, I watch her start to dress with a
delightful blush working its way up her neck toward her face. Although I could
stand watching her all day, I turn back to the mountains to give her some
privacy to finish dressing. She’s damn cute…and I’m turning into a fuckin’
pussy.

Clearing my throat, I say, “I was
daydreaming about your ‘girly’ bits, and wondering what you had to do to them
for you to kick me out of the bathroom. After all, I’ve seen every inch of your
body so I could have helped you.”

Smacking me on the ass, I bang my head
against the window in surprise. She’s crept up on me without me even realizing
it.

Her chuckle is throaty and it causes a
shiver to raise the hairs on my arms as she takes hold of my arm.

Turning me to face her, she reaches up
and rubs the sore spot on my forehead with her gentle fingers, which brings her
in closer to my erection. Callie freezes, meets my eyes and rubs against me;
her eyes darkening with lust.

Grabbing hold of her hips, I keep her away.
“Don’t start anything we can’t finish.” She pouts, so I place a quick kiss to
her freckled, button nose, and grin as I continue, “We have about thirty
minutes before we have to check out and I need to get my stuff from the room.
Donovan sent me a text last night, telling me they’d dismantled everything and
loaded it all, so basically once I’ve taken Ruben’s SUV back we can head home.”

I decide not to mention the names Donovan
called me because I’d disappeared. I don’t blame him really as I hadn’t given a
thought to the equipment I’d left behind, my only thoughts were of Callie.

Callie wraps herself around me with her
face going to my chest and after she places a kiss to my nipple and flicks her
tongue against my nipple ring, she looks up and grins, asking, “What’s going to
happen now? I don’t know how you want me to act.”

What the fuck is she talking about. I put
her away from me, but keep my hands on her shoulders. “Callie, we discussed
this already. You’re my girl, which means I get to kiss you and hold you in
public.” I grin. “And fuck you when I want.”

Rolling her eyes, she starts to laugh and
throws herself into my arms, slapping wet kisses all over my face and head,
which also includes a hell of a lot of wiggling around in a sensitive area with
her legs around my waist.

My arms wrap around her so she doesn’t fall
and my hands land on her firm ass, which I start to squeeze, holding her
against me, capturing her lips with mine; never wanting to let this girl out of
my arms, I try to show her what she means to me.

“Callie, you…um…ready…?” Thalia trails off
as we separate our mouths, but I keep Callie tight in my arms and not just
because I can’t bear to let her go. If I let Callie go right now, Thalia will have
a clear view of what Callie does to me.

“Thalia.” Callie tries to wiggle out of my
arms. “Reece let me down.”

Groaning, I help her stand back on the
floor, but wrap my arm around her waist and pull her back into my arms, much to
Thalia’s delight.

Her eyes light up and I’ll bet she can’t
wait to get back to Phoenix to announce what she’s seen in here.

“Um, well.”

Thalia starts to laugh at Callie’s obvious
embarrassment. “Spit it out, Callie. I haven’t got all day…although I could
probably take all day to hear this.”

Thalia moves to sit on the bed and relaxing
back on her elbows stares at us both with a huge grin on her face.

“You’re impossible. You know that, right?”
Callie points out, throwing her arms up in the air. Moving away from me she
joins her best friend on the bed. “I had a panic attack last night. Ruben was
helping me until Reece came across us.” She turns to smile at me before looking
back to Thalia. “He brought me here and looked after me. We talked and are
giving this a go. He’s also warned me that he’s going to screw up again,
although not intentionally.”

“Reece, you idiot.” Thalia shakes her head.
“You do not go into a relationship saying you’re going to screw up.” She
snickers. “I can’t believe you’d say that.”

“I thought it was kinda cute,” Callie says,
standing and walking back into my arms.

“You would. I’m going to go and leave you
two alone,” Thalia says, rising from the bed. “Oh, I forgot. I came in here to
say we’re leaving in, probably, twenty minutes now.”

“I need to get my stuff and return Ruben’s
SUV.” I take hold of Callie’s hand as I grab my wallet and keys from the table
at the side of the bed. “Is everything in your case?” I ask Callie.

“Yeah, it just needs fastening up.”

Letting go of Callie’s hand, I press down
on the case before pulling the zipper around and grabbing the handle, I go to
carry it out of the room, but stop when I realize both Callie and Thalia are
standing watching me without moving. “What?” I ask baffled. She said everything
was already inside so what’s their problem?

“You’re carrying my case,” she states with
an unbelievable expression on her beautiful face.

Not really sure how she wants me to answer,
I grin and counter with, “You can carry it yourself if you want,” although I’ve
no intention of letting her carry it.

“Um, no…no… It’s fine. It’s just that I’ve
not had any one offer to carry my case in a while, and they certainly didn’t
look like you.” She smirks, grabs her purse and ushers Thalia to the door and
out into the corridor.

Shaking my head, I follow them out of the
room after a quick glance around to make sure I can’t see anything left behind.
I also need to come up with something to keep her with me without looking like
an idiot. And I need to be quick, as we’re about to reach Thalia and Phoenix’s
room. But, perhaps I’m not the only one who wants to stay together as Callie
has started to slow her step and fidget with her sundress.

Thalia opens the door to her room and
before Callie can take a step to follow her, I wrap my arm around her waist
from behind and whisper in to her ear, “Stay with me.”

She shivers, covering my hand on her belly
with her own and entwining our fingers together. After a brief squeeze to my
hand, she says, “Thalia, I’m going to go with Reece.”

“What the fuck.”
Phoenix
!

He appears behind Thalia and then proceeds
to look like a fish out of water with his mouth opening and shutting, obviously
stunned to see Callie and me together, touching.

“Um, what…” He points between the two of
us.

Laughing, I drop Callie’s bag and wrap my
other arm around her chest to rest on her shoulder, “We’ve talked…and other
things – ouch!” Callie nudges me in the ribs as I say, ‘other things.’ I
grin and retaliate by nibbling her ear.

Breaking the hold I have on her, she turns
to face me, looking mischievous she slips her hand between us, and presses
against my junk, which perks up ready for another round.

I narrow my eyes, trying for a serious
look, but end up laughing when I see the flush on her face. Plus I’m not sure I
want her to get the wrong impression right now with my growing erection in her
hand.

Hearing a cough behind us, I raise my head
and see Phoenix and Thalia grinning.

“At least we’re not as bad as you guys.”
Although, another two seconds and we would
have been.
I quickly kiss Callie on her lips at the same time as I remove
her hand from my dick. “Let’s go.” I drag her behind me away from the room,
pick her case up and quickly walk two doors down to my room.

Removing the keycard from my back pocket, I
open the door and shove Callie through. I need to find the patience from
somewhere because all I want to do is lift her sun dress over her head and put
my mouth on every inch of her, but what I need to do, is to quickly grab my
gear and get the SUV back so we can leave.

“Mmm... Your bed is bigger than mine,”
Callie comments, lying back resting on her elbows. She crosses her legs letting
her dress slide further up her tanned thighs making me gulp.

“I’m just going to…to…
fuckinhell
.” I can’t concentrate on what I’m supposed to be doing.
My attention is held by the hem of her dress crawling closer and closer to the
juncture of her thighs. “You are going to make us late.”

“Stop looking at me then.”

Is she for real? She snickers before
becoming serious. “Are we really going to do this?” she asks without meeting my
eyes and staring at her fingers playing with the hem of her white sundress.

That question, if I think about it for too
long, will make me hurl because it’s all new to me as well, but right now I
need to act like I know what the fuck I’m doing for my girl. The last thing I
want is to send her running, which will happen if she knows I’m unsure about
this thing between us.

Crouching down between her legs, I rest my
arms on the top of her thighs and hold onto her hips. She keeps me grounded.
“Yes we are.”

She gives a nervous laugh. “You could sound
more convincing, instead of like you’re ready to puke.”

Shitabrick
. I thought I did rather well with those three words. Shows how much
I know. “Look…I don’t know what’s going to happen next week, next year. All I
know is since I met you over the summer; I’ve been more screwed up than usual.
I’ve never had a…girlfriend before, but I really want that to be you…not to
mention the perks,” I tease wiggling my eyebrows. Falling over on my ass, I
take her with me. She lands on top of me, her knee rubbing against the family
jewels.

Wiggling further up my body, she takes my
face in her hands and plants a lingering kiss to my lips. I try to deepen the
kiss, but she’s having none of it and pulls away, looking into my eyes as
though she’s looking for answers.

“You’re an ass,” she grins, “but, you’re my
ass and as long as I know you’re as nervous as I am about this thing between us
then I can handle it.” She rolls off me, sitting up and grabbing my balls in
her hand, adds, “Or handle these.”

After a few strokes to the twins while I
grit my teeth, she stands up and holds her hand out to me. Climbing to my feet,
I release her hand and quickly throw my things back into my bag. There isn’t
too much as I didn’t sleep in the room, although I did shower before I left for
the club, so with that thought, I retrieve my gear from the bathroom and toss
that in as well.

“Okay, I think I have everything.” Zipping
the bag up, I grab it up and can’t resist wrapping my other arm around my
girl’s neck to bring her in close for a kiss. I rub my nose against hers,
forcing myself to put her away from me. “We need to leave.”

She bites her lip and gives one longing
glance at the bed. “I know.”

Back at the club, I park in the same spot
that I’d driven out of the night before and turn the ignition off before
turning to Callie. “Do you want to come in with me, or do you want to go and
wait in your car for me?” We’ve driven to the club from the hotel in convoy.
Phoenix and Thalia in Callie’s car, while Donovan is driving his baby.

“I’ll come with you. If Ruben’s around, I
want to thank him for helping me last night.”

“Okay.”

Jumping out of the SUV, I run around and
open the door for Callie. Taking her hand in mine as we walk into Kenza, I keep
her close when I spot Rebel Walking’s crew packing up their gear. No way in
hell am I letting her walk around on her own when
he
could appear any minute.

“He’s over there,” Callie says, changing
direction and bringing me out of my dark thoughts expecting to see
him
, but instead it’s Ruben who is
walking toward us.

I sigh in relief, dragging Callie’s gaze
toward me with curiosity shining in her eyes.
