“I’m to convince you to join the people of

against the approaching

Jaynee closed her eyes. Part of her was scared shitless. Another, bolder part of her was very aware of the two men in her bedroom. And did the one behind her call her a siren? Did that mean he thought she was attractive? She closed her eyes.
Focus, Jaynee. It’s the middle of the night and there are
two strange men in your home.
What could she do to get them out of her house?

She opened her eyes, her gaze darting around the room. “Um… there’s a café down the street. Maybe you two could get to know each other there.”

The man at her back let her go and pushed her away from him. She stumbled and landed on the bed. Rolling over, she looked up at the two men who now stood side by side, their trust for each other against a common enemy overruling their animosity for one another.

“You say you don’t know how you got here?”

the one called Dare asked the newcomer. The other man shook his head and glanced her way, a thoughtful expression on his face. “No. I have no idea how I got here. One minute, I was standing outside the

headquarters and the next thing I knew I was downstairs standing amidst shelves full of books.”

“It was the same for me,” Dare said, his expression thoughtful. “One minute I was in my ship orbiting this planet, the next I was here, standing next to this woman’s bed.”

The blond tilted his head. “It is possible she brought us here. The power to call us is within her.”

Turning toward the newcomer, the dark haired man frowned. “What do you mean?”

“The purple markings below her eyes denote her powers. If I’m not mistaken those particular tattoos mean she’s one of the High Priestesses on this planet. That means she probably is not only spiritually powerful, but has psychic ability, and can communicate with people in high places—

namely the Lady Goddess.”

His gaze found her again. He didn’t hide the fact that he was appraising her body. His ambereyed gaze burned a trail over her flesh, pausing at her breasts until her chest burned with the effort to hold her breath. She didn’t want him to think she thrust her breasts out for his inspection, though she’d wanted to do just that.

She gulped air into her lungs when he finally looked away to address the other man, Lucan. Jaynee glanced over at him, her heart stuttering at his masculine beauty. Even with his disguise, she knew him to be the epitome of masculine perfection. They both were. She swallowed 14
