seems to be a wonderful cook.”

They both glanced at her and raised their cups.

“Thank you, Jaynee,” they said in unison. She blushed. Dare reached down and rubbed his crotch, already needing to bury his cock in her tight sheath again.

He glanced in Luc’s direction. He noticed the pained expression on the other man’s face and was relieved to see that he wasn’t the only one affected by her beauty.

Luc shifted in his seat. “I contacted my people to let them know I’m fine.” He tossed the communicator at Dare. “I would suggest that you do the same. Your people are threatening war against both my people and the
Carillians.
” He gave them a rueful smile. “I don’t think war between our people is in any of our best interests. Better to save our enmity for the Banarts.”

Dare inhaled sharply. “You are correct in that it would not be in our people’s best interest. Together we have a chance to defeat the

Dare relayed the address to his people, closed the communicator and set it on the counter. He turned toward his newly acquired mates. “They’re sending a transport. They want us to meet them in the square.” He turned to Jaynee and raised his brow. “They will be there within the hour awaiting us. Is there anything you wish to pack?”

“Pack?” Jaynee swallowed and licked her lips. Her gaze darted nervously between them. “I don’t plan to go anywhere. This is my home.” She held her arms wide, as if to encompass the entire shop and dwelling. “You can’t expect me to just pick up and leave.”

Dare sat down at the table and sighed. He should have known it was too good to be true. He should have known this was all too easy. What if he didn’t have a mate and allies after all? What if they refused him, refused his needs? If they did, he’d never have another family, children of his own. He had to try and make her understand, make them both understand.

“You don’t realize what your decision means. 50
